Abstract
A thermo sensor assembled to a unit under test has a metal plate, a passive component, and a package. The metal plate has an installation socket and at least one cable tray. The installation socket has a flat conducting base. The passive component has a main body mounted in the installation socket and at least one cable respectively mounted in the at least one cable tray and electrically connected to both the main body and the metal plate. The package integrally encapsulates the metal plate and the passive component. The conducting base is revealed outside the package and directly contacts the unit under test. Therefore, the passive component has a rapid and precise response to heat, and the thermo sensor can be applied to various positions and can get accurate readings without being interfered by the external environment.
Claims
1. A thermo sensor comprising: a metal plate having an installation socket having a conducting base being flat; and at least one cable tray; and a passive component having a main body mounted in the installation socket; and at least one cable respectively mounted in the at least one cable tray and electrically connected to both the main body and the metal plate; and a package integrally encapsulating the metal plate and the passive component; wherein the conducting base is revealed outside the package.

The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 1, wherein a unit under test has a through hole having an edge; the package has multiple abutting blocks; and a socket surrounded by the multiple abutting blocks; and the multiple abutting blocks are mounted into the through hole and abut against the edge of the through hole to connect the thermo sensor and the unit under test.
3. The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 2, wherein the thermo sensor has a fastener mounted in the socket of the package to push the multiple abutting blocks to abut against the edge of the through hole of the unit under test.
4. The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 3, wherein the fastener is made of plastic PA66+25%GF. 5. The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 4, wherein the metal plate has at least one wiring portion respectively connected to the at least one cable tray; the at least one cable of the passive component is electrically and respectively connected to the at least one wiring portion of the metal plate; and the at least one wiring portion and the installation socket are isolated by the package.
6. The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 5, wherein the at least one wiring portion is disposed higher than the conducting base of the installation socket in a longitudinal direction; and each one of the at least one wiring portion and the conducting base are separated by a longitudinal difference.

The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 6, wherein each one of the at least one wiring portion has an upper face; the conducting base has a bottom face; and the upper face of each one of the at least one wiling portion and the bottom face of the conducting base face to opposite directions and are revealed outside the package.
8. The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 7, wherein each one of the multiple abutting blocks has an oblique face inclining toward the socket; and the oblique face of each one of the multiple abutting blocks and the upper face of each one of the at least one wiring portion face to a same direction.
9. The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 8, wherein the metal plate is manufactured by stamping and the at least one wiring portion and the installation socket are connected to a frame.
10. A thermo sensor comprising: a metal plate having an installation socket having a conducting base being flat; and at least one cable tray; and a passive component having a main body mounted in the installation socket; and at least one cable respectively mounted in the at least one cable tray and electrically connected to both the main body and the metal plate; and a package integrally encapsulating the metal plate and the passive component; wherein the conducting base is revealed outside the package and directly contacts a unit under test.

The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 10, wherein the metal plate has at least one wiring portion respectively connected to the at least one cable tray: the at least one cable of the passive component is electrically and respectively connected to the at least one wiling portion of the metal plate; and the at least one wiring portion and the installation socket are isolated by the package.

The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 11, wherein the at least one wiring portion are disposed higher than the conducting base of the installation socket in a longitudinal direction; and each one of the at least one wiring portion and the conducting base are separated by a longitudinal difference.

The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 12, wherein each one of the at least one wiring portion has an upper face; the conducting base has a bottom face; and the upper face of each one of the at Least one wiring portion and the bottom face of the conducting base face to opposite directions and are revealed outside the package.

The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 10, wherein the unit under test has a through hole having an edge; the package has multiple abutting blocks; and a socket surrounded by the multiple abutting blocks; and the multiple abutting blocks are mounted into the through hole and abut against the edge of the through hole to connect the thermo sensor and the unit under test; the thermo sensor has a fastener mounted in the socket of the package to push the multiple abutting blocks to abut against the edge of the through hole of the unit under test.
15. The thermo sensor as claimed in claim 11, wherein the metal plate is manufactured by stamping and the at least one wiring portion and the installation socket are connected to a frame.

[0023] The bottom face 111B of the conducting base 111 of the installation socket 11 is revealed outside the package 30 and directly and completely contacts the unit under test 60. Therefore, the passive component 20 has a rapid response to heat and the thermo sensor in accordance with the present invention may be applied to various positions.
[0024] The conducting base 111 of the installation socket 11 is encapsulated in the package 30 except the bottom face 111B of the conducting base 111. Therefore, heat conducted from the unit under test 60 is difficult to dissipate from the conducting base 111, thereby making the passive component 20 able to respond precisely. And the thermo sensor in accordance with the present invention can get accurate readings of temperature without being interfered by the external environment.
