    Abstract

A chair surface for folding chairs, where the main chair surface includes hemming and a seating area. The main chair surface is mounted to the chair surface support section by the hemming. The circumference of the seating area has a surrounding seam, and the seating area comprises the shapeable seat section and the backseat section. The space between the surrounding seam and the hemming is connected by a stretchy or stretchable element to create the mounting structure. This invention is a seating area that is shapeable to form a seat section and a backrest section. It contours to the hip and does not create any tightening sensation.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT(S)

[0024] With reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a rounded-shape folding chair is provided which includes a folding frame 1 and a main chair surface 2. Folding frame 1 includes a support section 11 for suspending or mounting the main chair surface 2. In this embodiment, the support section 11 is a circular configuration. The support section 11 may be in geometric or other shapes, such as triangular, trapezoid, or pear shapes. None of these shapes will affect the configuration of the main chair surface. The main chair surface 2 is mounted to the chair surface support section 11 by the hemming 21 on its circumference to create a seating area.

[0025] The main chair surface 2 includes the hemming 21 and the seating area. The circumference of the seating area has a surrounding seam 22. The seating area comprises the shapeable seat section 23 and backrest section 24. The space between the surrounding seam 22 and the hemming 21 is connected via a stretchy element to create the stretchy mounting structure.

[0026] The seating area which includes the seat section 23 and the backrest section 24 is made of processed nylon mesh or Oxford fabric. The hemming 21 and the surrounding seam 22 are made of processed Oxford fabric. The shapeable seating area, which is made of processed nylon mesh, features good breathability, a feature particularly suitable for summer usage.

[0027] The inside edges of the hemming 21 and the outside edges of the surrounding seam 22 have similar configurations. The preferred design for the inside edges of the hemming 21 and the outside edges of the surrounding seam 22 is a round-shaped design, which features even and balanced weight support. There are three types of configuration for the stretchy element that connects the hemming 21 and the surrounding seam 22: first, stretchy cord; second, stretchy strap; third, stretchy fabric.

[0028] In FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the connection illustrated is a stretchy cord 25 configuration. Cord eyes 210 are evenly distributed along the area near the inside edges of the hemming 21. Cord buckles 220 are sewn evenly to the area close to the outside edges of the surrounding seam. The stretchy cord 25 is woven through all the cord eyes 210 and cord buckles 220, and the two ends of the cord are joined together. The meandering stretchy cord 25 creates a suspended seating area, which means the material of the seating area itself is not stretchy. It leverages the suspending stretchy cord 25 to create the stretchy effect.

[0029] There is a need to specify here that the cord eyes 210 on the hemming 21 and the cord buckles 220 on the surrounding seam 22 can be either cord eyes or cord buckles. They are interchangeable. Their purpose is to allow the meandering stretchy cord to pass through, and to create an appealing aesthetic appearance.

[0030] In FIG. 3, the connection illustrated is a stretchy strap 26 configuration. The stretchy strap 26 forms a radial shape and spreads evenly across the area between the hemming 21 and the surrounding seam 22. One end of it is sewn to the inside edges of the hemming 21 and the other end to the outside edges of the surrounding seam 22. The evenness creates the suspending utility for the seating area.

[0031] In FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, the connection illustrated is a stretchy fabric 27 configuration. The stretchy fabric 27 is cut or formed into a round shape. Alternatively, it may be called the effective circle of the stretchy fabric 27. Its inside edges and the outside edges of the surrounding seam 22 are sewn together. Its outside edges and the inside edges of the hemming 21 are sewn together. The seating area is mounted to the hemming 21 via the stretchy fabric 27 to create a unique configuration. In FIG. 4, the illustration shows the hemming 21 with an inner circular shape inside and an outer triangular shape. This design offers the support needed for the triangular support section 11. Or as illustrated in FIG. 5, the hemming 21 and the surrounding seam 22 may both be provided in triangular shapes, which correspond to the triangular support section 11. This design allows the backrest 24 to extend upward, providing more supporting surface area for the back.

[0032] In summary of the above, the inside edges of the hemming 21 and the outside edges of the surrounding seam 22 may adopt similar kinds of triangular shapes, or pentagonal shapes, etc. to create aesthetically pleasing designs to enrich the product portfolio and to provide options for different personalities. All of the above variations are under the protection of this application.
