The ratchet keychain attachment further includes a bit, removably located in the bit holder, the bit holder having a first position where the bit is held in a non-removable position in the bit holder and a second position where the bit is in a removable position.
Claims
1. A ratchet keychain attachment comprising: a body; a ratcheting area in the body; a bit holder, the bit holder pivotally mounted in the body; a bit, removably located in the bit holder, the bit holder having a first position where the bit is held in a non-removable position in the bit holder and a second position where the bit is in a removable position.
2. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 1, wherein the ratcheting area includes a bit receiving area, the bit receiving area shaped to receive and hold the bit in an operable position.
3. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 2, wherein the body includes a first aperture, the bit holder located in the first aperture, an edge of the body defining the first aperture preventing the bit from being removed from the bit holder when the bit holder is in the first position.
4. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim of claim 3, wherein the bit holder includes a bit holder body that has a second aperture for receiving the bit.
5. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 4, wherein the second aperture has a sleeve shape.
6. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 5, wherein when the bit holder is in the second position, the bit can be slid in and out of the sleeve shape.
7. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 6, wherein when the bit holder is in the first position, the edge of the body prevents the bit from being slid in and out of the sleeve shape.
8. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 7, wherein the body includes a carabiner portion.
9. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 8, wherein the body further includes a bottle opener, a cutting area, and a wrench area.
10. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 8, wherein the ratchet area is located at a first end of a longer length of the body.
11. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim of claim 10, wherein the carabiner portion is located at a second end of the longer length of the body.
12. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 11, wherein body is the within 200% the size of a standard key.
13. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 2, wherein the bit receiving area only ratchets in one rotational direction.
14. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 13, wherein the bit receiving area includes a first side and a second side and the bit receiving area receives the bit on either of the first side and the second side.
15. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 14, wherein the bit holder is held in the first position via an interference fit with the edge of the body.
16. The ratchet keychain attachment of claim 15, wherein the interference fit occurs due to a shape of the bit holder and the first aperture.
17. A ratchet carabiner comprising: a body; a bit holder, the bit holder pivotally mounted in the body; a bit, removably located in the bit holder, the bit holder having a first position where the bit is held in a non-removable position in the bit holder and a second position where the bit is in a removable position.
18. The ratchet carabiner of claim 17, further comprising: a ratcheting area in the body.
19. The ratchet carabiner of claim 18, wherein the ratcheting area includes a bit receiving area, the bit receiving area shaped to receive and hold the bit in an operable position and includes a first aperture, the bit holder located in the first aperture, an edge of the body defining the first aperture preventing the bit from being removed from the bit holder when the bit holder is in the first position.
20. A method of using a ratchet carabiner, the method comprising: providing a ratchet carabiner, the ratchet carabiner including a body; a ratcheting area in the body; a bit holder, the bit holder pivotally mounted in the body; a bit, removably located in the bit holder, the bit holder having a first position where the bit is held in a non-removable position in the bit holder and a second position where the bit is in a removable position; rotating the bit holder to the second position; removing the bit; inserting the bit in the ratcheting area; ratcheting with the ratcheting carabiner.
21. The method of claim 20, wherein the ratcheting carabiner includes a carabiner section on the body, and further comprising: removing the ratcheting carabiner from a key chain via the carabiner section.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0017] Certain terminology is used herein for convenience only and is not to be taken as a limitation on the embodiments of the systems and methods for ratchet multitool device (Ratchet Multitool). In many embodiments, the Ratchet Multitool (or Ratcheting Carabiner or Ratchet Keychain Attachment) includes a carabiner for easy attachment to a key ring or other location, however, in alternatives, this may be another attachment mechanism. In many embodiments, the Ratchet Multitool includes a bottle opener portion. In many embodiments, the multitool may include a printed, stepped, wrench portion. In many embodiments, the Ratchet Multitool includes a sharpened end that can be used as a box cutter or other cutting implement. In many embodiments, the Ratchet Multitool includes a flat head screw driver associated with the sharpened end. In many embodiments, the Ratchet Multitool includes a central screwdriver bit storage area. In many embodiments, the storage area rotates from a closed to an open position. In many embodiments, the Ratchet Multitool includes a ratchet area. The ratchet area is oriented to receive a bit from the central screw driver bit storage area. In many embodiments, the ratchet area ratchets in only one direction. In many embodiments, the ratchet area may receive a screw driver bit from either side of the device, making the ratcheting action operable from either side. In alternatives, items other than a screw driver bit may be included as a bit. Alternatives, may include or exclude one or more of the above listed parts.

[0023] In many variations, alternative bits may be used, including those that perform the functions of wrenches, hex wrenches, screwdrivers, and other tool ends. Any bit or attachment that it is useful to have ratchet and provide leverage to may be included as a bit. Additionally, alternatives to the other cut outs and features on the Ratchet Multitool 100 may be included. In many embodiments, the principle of operation includes the inclusion of a ratchet and a bit storage area inside of the ratchet. The bit storage area rotates such that it can be in line with the body in a storage position and therefore having a low profile. The bit storage area rotates such that it and the bits contained therein may be removed. The bit storage area rotates into a void or aperture. The void or aperture is shaped such that it can accommodate the bits and the bit storage area (or tool holder or bit holder) and hold them in place, so that the bits may not easily be removed without rotation. This in many embodiments is accomplished via the internal edge of the body portion where the frame has been cut out. When the bit holder is turned in, the bits cannot slide in and out of the sleeve provided by the bit holder. This is because the inner edge of the body that forms the cut out prevents this. Additionally, in many configurations, the body portion is formed from a piece of printed material, typically aluminum, however, various metals, plastics, woods, or composites, or other materials may be used. In many embodiments, the bit storage area is formed of plastic, however, various metals, plastics, woods, or composites, or other materials may be used.
[0024] While specific embodiments have been described in detail in the foregoing detailed description, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that various modifications and alternatives to those details could be developed in light of the overall teachings of the disclosure and the broad inventive concepts thereof. It is understood, therefore, that the scope of this disclosure is not limited to the particular examples and implementations disclosed herein but is intended to cover modifications within the spirit and scope thereof as defined by the appended claims and any and all equivalents thereof.
