    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0008] The present invention relates to a quick release of the strap system that is used to secure a motorcycle helmet into place. The present invention uses a conventional strap with hook and loop connectors placed upon the surface of the strap. The hook and loop connectors provide a means to secure the strap around a D-ring. The strap is secured within an ear flap of the motorcycle helmet after the strap is secured. Therefore the user may simply release the strap from the ear flap and then release the strap down to remove the helmet. A single D-ring is used to secure the strap as opposed to the double D-ring that is known in the prior art helmets. With this modification a user can easily strap and then release the helmet as needed.

[0009] FIG. 1 depicts a Strap 20 inserted through a D-ring 30 of a Helmet 50. As shown the Strap 20 inserts through the D-ring 30 that is attached to an ear flap 35 extending from Helmet 50. Inserted through the D-ring 30, the Strap 20 may be sealed through the use of hook and loop connectors on the surface of the strap 20. This attachment is shown in FIG. 2. A snap button 32 is provided on strap 20 in the closed position that attaches to a Button 23 as shown in FIG. 3. Strap 20 includes an inside portion 25 that includes hook and loop connectors. Once secured, the strap is inserted into the Ear Flap 35 as shown in FIG. 4 and secured with Button 32. Here the strap is firmly secured in a closed position and then secured within the ear flap to prevent inadvertent release of the strap during use. The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The exemplary embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
