    Abstract

A novel self-ligating orthodontic bracket, belongs to the technical field of orthodontics. The novel self-ligating orthodontic bracket includes a base plate and a bracket body. The bracket body is provided with an archwire recess, and one side of the archwire recess is provided with a self-ligating recess. A locking piece is slidably disposed in the self-ligating recess. An elastic locking mechanism is disposed in the self-ligating recess. And the elastic locking mechanism is mounted below the locking piece so as to provide, in a locked state, a locking force for preventing the locking piece from sliding. Thus, the shortcomings in the existing technology are overcome. The locking of the locking piece is achieved by using the elastic locking mechanism.

    EMBODIMENTS

[0025] Hereinafter a clear and complete description will be given to the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention in conjunction with the drawings of the embodiments of the present invention, apparently, the embodiments given here are only some of the embodiments of the present invention, rather than all. Based on the embodiments of the present invention, all the other embodiments obtained by those of ordinary skill in the art without paying creative effort fall into the protection scope of the present invention.

    Embodiment 1

[0026] As shown in FIGS. 1-2, the present invention provides a novel self-ligating orthodontic bracket, comprising a bracket body 1, an archwire receiver 3 is provided on the bracket body 1, a self-ligating slot 4 is slidably provided at a side of the archwire receiver 3, a locking piece 2 is slidably provided in the self-ligating slot 4, a flexible locking mechanism is provided in the self-ligating slot 4, the flexible ligating mechanism is provided underneath the locking piece 2 and is configured to provide a locking force required to stop the locking piece 2 from sliding.

[0027] The flexible locking mechanism comprises a locking boss 7 and a limiting stopper 6 provided in the self-ligating slot 4, and a flexible self-ligating piece 9 embedded underneath the locking piece 2, a transverse installation groove 11 is opened at a lower end surface of the locking piece 2, the flexible self-ligating piece 9 is provided in the installation groove 11, when being locked, a space for housing the flexible self-ligating piece 9 and limiting passage of the flexible self-ligating piece 9 is provided in between the locking boss 7 and the locking piece 2; and the limiting stopper 6 is provided at an end portion of the self-ligation slot far away from the archwire receiver 3.

[0028] An arch-shaped groove 10 for housing the locking boss 7 and allowing the limiting stopper 6 to pass is opened at a lower end surface of the locking piece 2, a groove 12 for allowing the flexible self-ligating piece 9 to deform is opened at a side of the installation groove 11 close to the locking piece 2.

[0029] The flexible self-ligating piece 9 comprises a flexible round wire, round tube, square wire or square tube and is made of metal or plastic materials.

[0030] To ease use, a cross section of the locking boss 7 is a rounded triangle; and by configuration of the rounded triangle passage of the flexible self-ligating piece 9 through the locking boss 7 is smoother.

[0031] To make the sliding more stable, sliding slots 5 are provided at both sides of the self-ligating slot 4, sliding blocks corresponding to the sliding slots 5 are provided at both sides of the locking piece 2 and the sliding blocks 8 engage with the sliding slots 5 via sliding.

[0032] A usage process of the present embodiment: by sliding the sliding blocks 8 along the sliding slots 5 at both sides of the locking piece 2 towards the archwire receiver, the locking boss 7 extrudes the flexible self-ligating piece 9, so that the flexible self-ligating piece 9 deforms towards the groove 12, until the flexible self-ligating piece 9 passes the locking boss 7, a front surface of the locking boss 7 limits a moving direction of the locking piece 2 and maintain the locking piece 2 in a closed state.

    Embodiment 2
