    Abstract

A Sports Base body (base, pitcher's mound, home plate) having a waterproof utilizing surface and a non-utilizing surface, and a waterproof light source which includes a plurality of LEDs embedded in the non-utilizing surface of the Sports Base body for adding illuminating functions, colors, and effects to the Sports Base body. The light source is securely attached and can be disassembled simply without compromising Sports Base body.

    Claims

    1. Sports bases, comprising: A sports base (base, pitcher's mound, homeplate) hollow body having a utilizing surface and a non utilizing surface, having a supporting size opening for one or more LED embodied light source. The opening is slighly smaller than the light source, in which the light source can be pushed securely into body and mounted securely.

    2. The Sports Bases as recited in claim 1 wherein said light spource further comprises a control module supported at said non-utilizing surface of said sports base body, wherein said control module comprises a battery compartment for receiving a battery therein to electrically link to said LEDs, and a control panel provided on said battery compartment to selectively control light effect and operation of said LEDs

    3. The Sports Bases, as recited in claim 2, wherein said control module further comprises a remote operatively linked to said control panel to selectively activate said LEDs.

    4. The Sports Bases, as recited in claim 1, wherein said control module further comprises of a rechargeable battery.

    5. The Sports Bases, as recited in claim 1, further comprises of a waterproof body and light source.

    DESCRIPTION

[0017] The illuminated bases, mound, and home plate are made of a sturdy, durable material that diffuses light. Any material that diffuses light, still illuminates, and is durable enough to withstand impact can be used. For example and preferred material is white opaque plastic. The bases, mound, and home plate are molded according to (FIG. 1), (FIG. 2), or (FIG. 3) as an outer shell and have a hollow core with a flat bottom. The thickness of the material will depend on the actual size of the base, mound or plate but will be thick enough to withstand impact and protect the light source within. The flat bottom has a hole near the center. This is where a light source can fit inside and then be mounted using screws. The light source cannot be touching top part of base, mound, or plate. In other words once mounted, there must be sufficient space between the LED and top part of base, mound or plate in order for light to be diffused and create illuminated glow.

[0018] The light source consists of battery, battery housing, circuit, on/off and RGB LED. (Preferred method) consists of LED chip with circular battery housing mounted using screws. An on/off switch will also be present on the bottom of housing unless rechargeable batteries are used in which case the on/off will also serve as the charging port. A compatible IR remote can also be used for on/off and can be used for color change or brightness adjustment.
