CONVERTIBLE CAP BAND

Abstract

A method for use of a convertible band for a cap that includes the steps of: stretching the convertible band around the perimeter of the cap; adjusting the position of the band to fit at the edge of the cap; and positioning an decorative attachment at the front of the cap. The convertible band may be used to cover a user's ears. The band may also be removed and extended to camouflage a user's face. The decorative attachment may also be interchangeable.

Claims

1. A method for use of a convertible band for a cap comprising the steps of: a. stretching the convertible band around the perimeter of the cap; b. adjusting the position of the band to fit at the edge of the cap; and c. positioning an decorative attachment at the front of the cap.

2. The method for use of a convertible band according to claim 1, further comprising stretching the convertible band to cover a user's ears.

3. The method for use of a convertible band according to claim 1, further comprising removing the band and extending the band to camouflage a user's face.

4. The method for use of a convertible band according to claim 1, further comprising removing and replacing the decorative attachment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0010] The present invention relates to a convertible cap band that is used to decorate and provide the users with functional aspects when placed on a conventional cap. The convertible cap band according to the present invention fits onto a traditional cap and then provides coverage of a user's ears or may be used to cover the user's face. This cap band is very suitable for use in various weather conditions but is particularly useful in the cold weather conditions to cover a user's ears. Further the band may be used for hunting purposes where the band camouflages the user's face while on a hunting expedition.

[0011] FIG. 1 shows a cap 10 with a convertible band 20 shown thereon. Cap 10 receives the convertible band 20 at the edge of a bill 12 of the cap 10. In this particular embodiment, the convertible band 20 includes a decorative attachment 21. Here the band 20 is shown wrapping around the edge of the cap 10 where the bill 12 extends therefrom. FIG. 2 shows a side view of the cap 10 when placed on a user's 30 head. As shown, this band 20 stretches around the circumference of the cap 10 and preferably the decorative attachment 21 is directed toward the front of the cap 10. The decorative attachment 21 may be any type of emblem or otherwise which provides an additional decorative feature of the convertible band 20.

[0012] Functionally the band 20 is available to release from the cap 10 and to stretch to cover a user's ears as shown in FIG. 3. The band 20 stretches downwardly and provides a warm covering for a user's ears this is especially effective during winter months in colder environments.

[0013] One alternative use of the convertible band 20 is shown in FIG. 4. The convertible band 20 is especially effective for use by hunters. Many time hunters camouflage their face while hunting in the woods. The band 20 may be used as a camouflage covering as shown in FIG. 4. In this particular embodiment the band 20 is completely released from the cap 10 then draped across a user's face.

[0014] FIG. 5 shows the convertible band 20, where the band is made out of flexible stretch material that allows for the placement of the band 20 on various size caps. A decorative adornment attachment 21 is shown attached to the band 20. FIG. 6 shows an alternative use of the band 20 where its use is more for decorative purposes where the band is released from the rim of the cap and a pin or other attachment device is used to attach the decorative attachment to the front of the cap ten. This allows the band 20 just to hang to one side of the cap for decorative purposes. As such the band provides both decorative and functional aspects for a user that can assist them as described above.
