HAND TOOL FOR WIRE PULLING

Abstract

A hand tool for wire pulling that includes: a wire receiving v-hook, where the v-hook has a first side and a second side; a first handle, extending from the first side of the v-hook; a second handle, extending from the second side of the v-hook; and an apex at a top of the v-hook. A contact point is provided on the inside of the apex, where the contact point is adapted to receive a wire. The first side and the second side of the v-hook extend from the apex at a first angle. The first handle extends from the first side at a second angle and the second handle extends from the second side at the second angle.

Claims

1. A hand tool for wire pulling comprising: a wire receiving v-hook, where the v-hook has a first side and a second side; a first handle, extending from the first side of the v-hook, wherein the first handle is adapted for use with a first hand; a second handle, extending from the second side of the v-hook, wherein the second handle is adapted for use with a second hand; and an apex at a top of the v-hook.

2. The hand tool according to claim 1, where a contact point on the inside of the apex.

3. The hand tool according to claim 2, where the contact point is adapted to receive a wire.

4. The hand tool according to claim 1, where the first side and the second side extend from the apex at a first angle, the first handle extends from the first side at a second angle, and the second handle extends from the second side at the second angle.

[0005] The present invention relates to a hand tool that's used to tighten wire and pull wire fencing, in particular wire that's related to barbwire fencing. The hand tool according to the present invention includes a v-hook that receives the wire at a contact point on the inside of an apex of the v-hook. The v-hook includes two sides that extend from the apex and then a handle on each side extends from the hook to allow users to handle and maneuver the tool while the wire is engaged at the contact point.

[0006] In reference to FIG. 1, a hand tool 10 is depicted. The hand tool 10 includes a v-hook 12 as shown therein. The v-hook 12 includes an apex 15 and an inside contact point 17. A user engages a wire at the contact point 17 and maneuvers the hand tool 10 with handles 14a, 14b. This tool 10 is therefore adapted for use where a first hand is placed on the first handle 14a and a second hand is placed on the second handle 14b. As shown, the handles 14a, 14b extend from the v-hook 12. The v-hook 12 includes a first side and second side that are separated by a first angle. The handle 14a extends from the first side at a second angle as opposed to the first angle provided at the apex 15. Similarly, the second handle extends from the v-hook 12 on the second side at the second angle duplicating the first handle 14a.

[0007] This hand tool enables the user to effectively maneuver wire while repairing or constructing a wire fence. The tool gives the user a means to tighten and secure the wire by using this hand tool. Further the hand tool is made of a hard metal such as of steel or hardened aluminum. The hand tool provides sturdy and effective means to hand fence wire. The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description.
