Abstract
A hair brush has a semi-circular configuration, and has a head having a support member with a plurality of apertures therein that accommodate a plurality of bristles each having a hollow therein, and has a rear having an elongated hollow therein that complements the semi-circular configuration. When air is applied to the bristles, each bristle communicates with the aperture so that air can flow through the openings of the bristles, the aperture and outward through the hollow in the rear of the hair brush and away from the hair of a user. When air is applied to the hollow in the rear, the air is directed through the apertures and bristles onto the hair of the user.
Claims
1. A hair brush comprising: a brush head comprising: a bristle portion with a semi-circular configuration and having a support member with a plurality of apertures that accommodate a plurality of bristles having an opening therein; and a rear portion having an elongated hollow therein that complements the semi-circular configuration, wherein the plurality of apertures with openings in the bristles and the hollow in the rear portion allow air applied on one side of the hair brush to pass through the other side of the hair brush.
2. The hair brush of claim 1, wherein when air is directed at the bristle portion, the air flows through (1) the opening in the plurality of bristles, (2) then the plurality of apertures, and (3) then the hollow in the rear portion away from hair of a user.
3. The hair brush of claim 1, wherein when air is directed at the rear portion, the air flows through (1) the hollow in the rear portion, (2) then plurality of apertures, and (3) then the opening in the plurality of bristles towards hair of a user.
4. The hair brush of claim 3, wherein the air towards the hair of the user, in conjunction with the semi-circular configuration of the bristle portion can be used to curl and/or shape the hair of the user.
5. The hair brush of claim 1, wherein the support member has a semi-circular profile.
6. The hair brush of claim 1, wherein the plurality of apertures each has a rectangular or square shape.
7. The hair brush of claim 1, wherein the plurality of bristles each has a triangular shape with the opening therein.
8. The hair brush of claim 7, wherein the plurality of triangular shape bristles are in an alternating pattern that results in alternating flat and tapered profiles on the brush.
9. The hair brush of claim 8, wherein the alternating pattern provides an orthogonal shape that causes the hair to be intermittently separated and spread when the hair brush is pulled through hair of a user.
10. The hair brush of claim 7, wherein each of the plurality of bristles has a round head, two outer ribs, and an inner rib that connects the round head and the two outer ribs together and forms the opening in the plurality of bristles.
11. The hair brush of claim 1, wherein the plurality of bristles are in rows along a longitudinal axis of the brush head with each adjacent pair of rows of bristles positioned virtually perpendicular with respect to one another so that successive bristles are orthogonal with respect to each other.
12. The hair brush of claim 11, wherein bristles of a first row is separated from bristles of an adjacent second row by a first constant distance, and each adjacent pairs of bristles in each row are separated from each other along the longitudinal axis by a second constant distance.
13. The hair brush of claim 12, wherein the first and second constant distances are the same distance.
14. The hair brush of claim 1, wherein the plurality of bristles are formed in columns along a latitudinal axis of the brush head with each adjacent pair of columns positioned virtually perpendicular with respect to one another so that successive bristles are orthogonal with respect to each other.
15. The hair brush of claim 14, wherein bristles of a first column are separated from an adjacent second column by a third constant distance, and each adjacent pairs of bristles in each column are separated from each other along the latitudinal axis by a fourth constant distance.
16. The hair brush of claim 15, wherein the third and fourth constant distances are the same distance.
17. The hair brush of claim 1, further comprising a handle having an elongated horizontal slot to reduce the weight but maintain an integrity of the handle.
18. The hair brush according to claim 17, wherein the head and the handle are detachable.
