Abstract
A blind rivet nut for connecting two components by means of a screw connection includes a rivet shank. The rivet shank has an internal thread, at the axial first end of which a deformation portion configured to produce the riveted joint is arranged. At the axial second end of the rivet shank there is arranged a rivet head with a contact face that allows an adjacent component face to lie against. The supporting surface has a radial extent which is greater than or equal to 1.5 times and less than or equal to 2 times the radial extent of the rivet shank.
Claims
1. A blind rivet nut for connecting two components by means of a screw connection, comprising: a rivet shank with an internal thread, at the axial first end of which a deformation portion configured to produce the riveted joint is arranged, wherein at the axial second end of the rivet shank there is arranged a rivet head with a contact face that allows an adjacent component face to lie against, the supporting surface having a radial extent which is greater than or equal to 1.5 times and less than or equal to 2 times the radial extent of the rivet shank.
2. The blind rivet nut according to claim 1, wherein the radial extent of the contact face is between 15 mm and 22 mm.
3. The blind rivet nut according to claim 1, wherein the rivet head has an external contour which differs from the circular shape.
4. The blind rivet nut according to claim 3, wherein the external contour of the rivet head has a metric hexagonal shape.
5. The blind rivet nut according to claim 1, further comprising at least in portions, a high-grade steel rustproof material.
6. The blind rivet nut according to claim 1, further comprising at least in portions, a coating which protects against corrosion.
7. The blind rivet nut according to claim 1, wherein the rivet head on the side oriented opposite to the contact face has a sealing face configured to seal off against the ingress of liquid on a contacting component face.
8. A component system comprising: a first component with a rivet opening; and a second component with a screw opening, wherein a blind rivet nut having the features of claim 1 is fastened in the rivet opening, with a screw extending through the screw opening of the second component and being screwed into the internal thread of the rivet shank, with furthermore a first component face of the second component lying against the contact face of the rivet head.
9. The component system according to claim 8, wherein a shim is arranged between a screw head of the screw and a second component face of the second component, the radial extent of the contact face of the rivet head being greater than or equal to a radial extent of the shim.
10. The component system according to claim 8, wherein the screw opening has a geometric extent which is smaller in the breadth direction and greater in the longitudinal direction than the radial extent of the contact face of the rivet head.
