    2. The tail comb of claim 1, wherein the applicator extends parallel to the longitudinal midline of the body-handle.

    3. The tail comb of claim 1, wherein the applicator comprises a barrel having a proximal open end and a distal open end.

    4. The tail comb of claim 3, wherein the distal open end of the barrel is attached to one or more dispensing tubes.

    5. The tail comb of claim 3, wherein the barrel comprises a compressible insert.

    6. The tail comb of claim 5, wherein the compressible insert comprises a hair product.

    7. The tail comb of claim 6, wherein the hair product comprises a moisturizing cream, conditioner, gel, cream, hair oil, dye, serum, lotion and/or pharmaceutical product or any combination thereof.

    8. The tail comb of claim 4, wherein the applicator further comprises a plunger fluid-tightly and slidably arranged adjacent to the proximal end of the barrel.

    9. The tail comb of claim 1, wherein one or more of the comb teeth are hollow.

    10. The tail comb of claim 9, wherein one or more dispensing tubes are attached to the one or more hollow comb teeth.

    11. The tail comb of claim 10, wherein the one or more dispensing tubes are attached to every other comb tooth.

    12. A tail comb for dispensing a hair product to the roots of a person's hair and scalp comprising: a comb body, an elongated comb handle outwardly extended from the comb body, a plurality of hollow comb teeth, wherein the comb teeth are aligned in an array at the bottom of the comb body, extending from and parallel to a longitudinal midline of the body-handle, a barrel-shaped applicator reversibly attached to the comb body comprising a hair product and a plunger fluid-tightly and slidably arranged adjacent to the proximal end of the barrel, wherein the distal end of the barrel is attached to one or more dispensing tubes connected to the hollow comb teeth wherein each comb tooth has an opening at their distal end.

    13. A tail comb for dispensing a hair product to a person's scalp comprising: a comb body, an elongated comb handle outwardly extended from the comb body, a plurality of comb teeth aligned in an array at the bottom of the comb body, extending from and parallel to a longitudinal midline of the body-handle, and a barrel-shaped applicator reversibly attached to the comb body comprising a hair product and a plunger fluid-tightly and slidably arranged adjacent to the proximal end of the barrel, wherein the distal end of the barrel is attached to a pivot point, wherein the applicator dispenses a hair product to the person's scalp.

    14. A method for applying a product to the roots of a person's hair comprising combing a person's hair and applying pressure to the plunger of the tail comb of claim 12, wherein the pressure dispenses the hair product through the distal aperture of each comb tooth thereby applying the product to the person's hair follicles and scalp.

    15. A method for applying a product to the roots of a person's hair comprising combing a person's hair and applying pressure to the plunger of the tail comb of claim 13, wherein the pressure applied to the pivot point dispenses the hair product to the person's hair follicles and scalp.

    16. The method of claim 15, wherein the combing comprises parting the person's hair.

    17. The method of claim 15, wherein the hair product is dispensed to the scalp along the parting in the person's hair.

    18. The method of claim 15, wherein the product comprises a moisturizing cream, conditioner, gel, cream, serum, lotion, oil, dye or pharmaceutical product or any combination thereof.

    19. The method of claim 15, wherein the plunger advances in increments along the barrel to dispense a defined amount of hair product to the roots of the person's hair.

    20. The method of claim 15, wherein the comb teeth are separated by at least 3 mm.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0036] The preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings. Identical elements in the various figures are identified with the same reference numerals. Reference will now be made in detail to each embodiment of the present invention. Such embodiments are provided by way of explanation of the present invention, which is not intended to be limited thereto. In fact, those of ordinary skill in the art may appreciate upon reading the present specification and viewing the present drawings that various modifications and variations can be made thereto.

[0037] FIGS. 1-4 disclose an exemplary depiction of a tail comb with an applicator 5 attached to the top of the comb body 13. A plurality of comb teeth aligned in an array 23 is attached to the bottom of the comb body 13 having a proximal comb tooth 16 and a distal comb tooth 17. The comb handle 14 is attached to the proximal end to the comb body 13, extending from and parallel to a longitudinal midline of the body-handle to a pointed end 15.

[0038] The applicator 5 comprises a plunger 2 having a capped proximal end 3 and attached to the center 3 of a flat circular distal end 6 that fits tightly through an opening 4 of a cylindrical tube called a barrel 1 (see, e.g., FIG. 2). The plunger 2 can be linearly pushed along the inside 18 of the barrel 1, allowing the plunger 2 to push a hair product deposited within the interior of the barrel 1 in front of the flat circular distal end 6 of the plunger 2 into the pivot point 7 and through the aperture 21, the connector 8, a nozzle 10, a dispensing tube 11 protruding through an aperture in the nozzle 22 and expelled from a orifice 12 at the end of the dispensing tube 11.

[0039] FIG. 4 shows that the nozzle 10 with a grip 9 screws on to a connector 8 by means of a thread section 20. The connector in turn connects to the pivot point 7 via a thread section 19. Disassembly facilitates cleaning of the different components.

[0040] In one embodiment, the stylist combs a person's hair and forms a parting. The plunger 2 is then pushed into the barrel 1 containing a hair product which is moved along the barrel 1 through the pivot point 7 into the dispensing tube 11. By moving the aperture 12 along the parting the stylist can dispense the hair product to the roots of the person's hair thereby nourishing the person's scalp.

[0041] Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made only by way of illustration and that numerous changes in the details of construction and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and the scope of the invention.
