Abstract
A universal accessible kitchenette holder and dispensing unit configured to be setup in a horizontal serving surface to provide easy access by disabled and non-disabled to various items commonly used in a lunch room or kitchenette, such as plates, cups, napkins, utensils, small food items and packaged condiments, and etc. Each unit includes two L-shaped outer side walls, a lower tier front wall, a bottom panel, a rear wall, and an upper tier front wall. An intermediate floor panel may be disposed between the two side walls dividing the unit into a lower tier and an upper tier. Each tier is divided into one or more bins by dividing walls. Extending forward from each front wall are optional extensions. Also formed on the front wall of the lower and upper tiers are optional tactile indicators used by visually handicapped individuals to identify the contents in the bins directly behind the front wall.
Claims
1. A universal accessible combination holder and dispensing unit, comprising: a. two L-shaped side walls spaced apart and parallel to each other, each said side wall includes a forward extending front section, and tall upward extending section, each side wall includes a front edge, a lower edge, a rear edge, a front section top edge, and a rear section top edge; b. a lower tier front wall extending transversely between said front sections of said side walls, said front wall includes a lower edge and an upper edge; c. an upper tier front wall extending transversely between said upper extending section of said side walls; d. a rear wall extending transversely between said rear edges of said side walls, said rear wall includes a top edge; and e. whereas the upper tier wall is substantially parallel and located above and behind said front wall thereby creating a lower tier with a top opening between said front sections on said side walls, said upper tier wall being substantially parallel to said rear wall thereby forming a upper tier with a top opening.
2. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 1, further including a rear extension configured to hold said rear wall outward and space apart from a wall located behind said rear wall.
3. The combination holder and dispensing unit as recited in claim 1, further including at least one dividing wall locating said lower tier.
4. The combination holder and dispensing unit as recited in claim 2, further including at least one dividing wall located in said upper tier.
5. The combination holder and dispensing unit as recited in claim 1, further including a braille alphabet letter, number or symbol located on said lower tier front wall that indicates the contents of items placed in said lower tier.
6. The combination holder and dispensing unit as recited in claim 1, further including braille alphabet letter, number or symbols located on said upper tier front wall that indicates the contents or quality of items placed in said upper tier.
7. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 1, further including a front extension formed on each said side wall.
8. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 1, further including a tab extension extending outward said lower tier front wall.
9. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 3, further including a tab extension formed on said lower tier front wall that is aligned with said dividing wall.
10. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 1, further including a tab extension extending from said upper tier front wall.
11. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 10, further including a tab extension formed on said upper tier front wall that is aligned with said dividing wall.
12. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 2, wherein said rear extension includes two triangular shaped side walls and a top panel extending between said side walls.
13. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 1 wherein said side walls measures 7 to 12 inches in length and 9 to 14 inches in height.
14. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 13, further including a front extension formed on each said side wall and triangular in shape.
15. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 13, further including a rear extension with a top panel that extends rearward from said rear panel at least one inch.
16. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 1, further including an intermediate floor extending from the upper tier front wall to the rear panel
17. The combination holder and dispensing unit, as recited in claim 16, further including a braille alphabet letter, number or symbol located on said lower tier front wall that indicates the contents of items placed in said lower tier.
18. The combination holder and dispensing unit as recited in claim 17, further including at least one dividing wall locating said lower tier.
19. The combination holder and dispensing unit as recited in claim 17, further including at least one dividing wall located in said upper tier.
20. A universal accessible combination holder and dispensing unit, comprising: a. two L-shaped side walls spaced apart and parallel to each other, each said side wall includes a forward extending front section, and tall upward extending section, each side wall includes a front edge, a lower edge, a rear edge, a front section top edge, and a rear section top edge; b. a lower tier front wall extending transversely between said front sections of said side walls, said front wall includes a lower edge and an upper edge; c. a rear wall extending transversely between said rear edges of said side walls, said rear wall includes a top edge; d. a lower floor extending between the front wall and the rear wall; and e. a plurality of tabs extending upward from said lower floor, said tabs arranged on said lower floor and configured to support a plurality of stacked plates or stacked bowls positioned on said lower floor.
