HINGE REPLACEMENT KIT

Abstract

A hinge repair kit that includes: a sander; hinge plate covers; glue; filler; and a scraper to scrape the final finish in the doorjamb. The sander preferably includes a block sander.

Claims

1. A hinge repair kit comprising: a. a sander; b. hinge plate covers; c. glue; d. filler; and e. a scraper to scrape the final finish in the doorjamb.

2. The hinge repair kit according to claim 1, where the sander includes a block sander.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0008] The present invention relates to a hinge replacement kit that includes various components to provide an effective toolkit to replace and repair hinges. The kit includes a block sander, hinge plate covers, glue, filler and a scraper to scrape the final finish in the doorjamb. These components are provided in a complete kit to allow for the repair and replacement of a door hinge.

[0009] FIG. 1 depicts a block sander that is used to sand the surface of Block Sander 100 that is used to sand the surface of a doorjamb. It provides smooth edge after removal of an existing hinge. Further components of the replacement kit include Hinge Plates 22, which is shown in FIG. 2B with a side view provided into A. Further, a Strike Plate Cover 25 is also provided and shown in FIG. 2. These items are applied over the finished surface after appropriate sanding and filling has been accomplished. A further part of the hinge replacement kit is a Filler 32 along with Glue 30 shown in FIG. 3. During use the user removes the hinge, sands the surface, applies glue to the screw holes and then places a wooden blank into place and then provides fill with the filler to smooth over the surface provided. Once the filler and surface have been secured further sanding may be required to smooth the surface over of the doorjamb to enable the placement of a door hinge. The blanks are in the form of Hinge Covers 22 shown in FIG. 2. FIG. 4 depicts a Scraper 35 with a straight edge 37. This hand scraper 35 again allows a user to remove glue and filler from the surface to finish the doorjamb repair.
