DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DISCLOSED EMBODIMENTS
(12)
(13) In this embodiment, the light source 130 is a plurality of discontinuous point-type light-emitting elements, which is, for example, composed of a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). In other embodiments (not shown here), the light source may be a continuous surface-type light-emitting element, which is composed of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), for example. In addition, the light source 130 may include a light-guiding optical fiber bundle or a light guide connected to the light entrance I of the ring-shaped light channel CH. In other words, the light-emitting element may not be disposed directly at the light entrance I of the ring-shaped light channel CH. Instead, the light emitted from the light-emitting element is guided by the light-guiding optical fiber bundle or the light guide to the light entrance I of the ring-shaped light channel CH. Nevertheless, the disclosure is not limited thereto.
(14) In this embodiment, a material of the outer tube 110 and the inner tube 120 is a metal, for example, and the reflecting inner wall 112 of the outer tube 110 and the reflecting outer wall 122 of the inner tube 120 have smooth surfaces, for example, such that the reflection type of the light beam L between the reflecting inner wall 112 of the outer tube 110 and the reflecting outer wall 122 of the inner tube 120 is specular reflection. In other embodiments, the reflecting inner wall 112 of the outer tube 110 and the reflecting outer wall 122 of the inner tube 120 have rough surfaces, for example, such that the reflection type of the light beam L between the reflecting inner wall 112 of the outer tube 110 and the reflecting outer wall 122 of the inner tube 120 is diffuse reflection.
(15)
(16)
(17) In this embodiment, the refractive structure 350 is a transparent material. After being reflected multiple times by the reflecting inner wall 112 of the outer tube 110 and the reflecting outer wall 122 of the inner tube 120, the light beam L emitted from the light source 130 is refracted by the refractive structure 350 or totally internally reflected in the refractive structure 350, so as to travel out of the illumination apparatus 300 in a direction further away from the inner tube 120. A material of the refractive structure 350 is glass, plastic, acrylic, or other suitable transparent material, for example. Since the refractive structure 350 further refracts the light beam L outward to travel out of the illumination apparatus 300, the light beam L has a larger divergence angle when traveling out of the illumination apparatus 300. Therefore, the illumination apparatus 300 has a uniform luminance. In addition, the refractive structure 350 is connected to the outer tube 110 and has the same outer diameter as the outer tube 110. In other words, the illumination apparatus 300 has a continuous and intact outer contour without a step height difference between the outer tube 110 and the inner tube 120 at one end of the light exit O, so as to be suitable for endoscopy illumination. However, in other embodiments (not shown here), the outer diameter of the refractive structure 350 may be different from the outer diameter of the outer tube 110.
(18) In this embodiment, the illumination apparatus 300 is provided with both the refractive structure 350 and the light diffusion structure 240. However, in other embodiments (not shown here), the illumination apparatus may include only the refractive structure 350 without the light diffusion structure 240.

(20)
(21)
(22)
(23) It should be noted that, according to the detection method of the international standard ISO 8600: the luminance uniformity is calculated by obtaining the central luminance of the region right in front of the light-emitting device; obtaining the luminance at where the angle is 70% of the angle of the field of view; and dividing the luminance at where the angle is 70% of the angle of the field of view by the central luminance of the region right in front. Since the luminance uniformity in the embodiment of the disclosure is 80%, the angle of the field of view (FOV), as mentioned above, is calculated by: setting the central luminance of the region right in front of the light-emitting device as 100%; finding the region where the luminance is 80% of the central luminance and defining the viewing angle with respect to the central axis at where the luminance is 80% of the central luminance as 70% of the angle of the field of view; and then dividing this viewing angle by 70% to obtain the angle of the field of view.
(24) Referring to
(25) To sum up, in the illumination apparatus according to the embodiments of the disclosure, a segment of the inner tube protrudes from the light exit. After the light emitted from the light source is reflected multiple times by the reflecting inner wall of the outer tube and the reflecting outer wall of the inner tube, more light beams are emitted from the illumination apparatus in the direction away from the inner tube. Therefore, the light beam has a larger divergence angle when leaving the illumination apparatus, so as to improve the luminance of the region at a larger viewing angle and prevent the light beam from being overly concentrated on the region right in front of the illumination apparatus. As a result, the illumination apparatus of the embodiments of the disclosure has a uniform luminance. Furthermore, the light diffusion structure according to the embodiments of the disclosure diverges the light that passes through, such that the light beam emitted from the light source is further dispersed and becomes uniform after passing through the light diffusion structure. In addition, after passing through the refractive structure, the light beam emitted from the light source is refracted by the refractive structure or totally internally reflected in the refractive structure to travel out of the illumination apparatus in the direction further away from the central axis. Therefore, the illumination apparatus according to the embodiments of the disclosure has a more uniform luminance.
(26) It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the structure of the disclosed embodiments without departing from the scope or spirit of the disclosure. In view of the foregoing, it is intended that the disclosure covers modifications and variations of this disclosure provided they fall within the scope of the following claims and their equivalents.
