Abstract
The present invention relates to a double jig hook that features linear shank(s), two barbed bends, an eyelet, and a jig head. The two bends are positioned at one end of the hook for catching the top and bottom parts of a fish's lip to maximize securement and success rates when hooking fish. The bends includes barbs at their terminal ends and extend in opposing directions. Further, at the other end of the hook, an eyelet is connected at an angle of 90, 45, or 30 degrees relative to the shank(s) wherein the other end of the hook also includes the jig head for attaching a lure or jig thereto. The hook or jig can be made from a single barbed wire or can be made using two wires that are connected to form a pair of shank portions and a pair of bend portions.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
[0025] The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate a description thereof. Various embodiments are discussed hereinafter. It should be noted that the figures are described only to facilitate the description of the embodiments. They are not intended as an exhaustive description of the invention and do not limit the scope of the invention. Additionally, an illustrated embodiment need not have all the aspects or advantages shown. Thus, in other embodiments, any of the features described herein from different embodiments may be combined.
[0026] As noted above, there exists a long felt need in the art for an improved jig for luring and catching fish. There is also a long felt need in the art for an improved jig that is effective in catching fish. Additionally, there is a long felt need in the art for an improved jig that enables the bait to mimic live bait, while being threaded to the jig structure. Moreover, there is a long felt need in the art for an improved jig that enables the users to properly thread the hook onto certain baits. Further, there is a long felt need in the art for a jig having hooks that resist breaking and enable the users to catch fish even when one of the hooks is broken. Furthermore, there is a long felt need in the art for an improved jig that ensures the jig catches the fish's lips properly and has a higher success rate in catching fish in comparison to standard jigs/hooks. Finally, there is a long felt need in the art for an improved jig that offers a way to catch more fish and improves the overall enjoyment of a fishing excursion.
[0027] The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, includes a novel fishing hook. The fishing hook includes an eyelet, shank portions, bend portions, and a plurality of barbs at one end, wherein at least one barb extends from a first point and another barb extends from a second point. Further, at another end of the shank portions, the fishing hook includes a jig head for attaching a jig and for connecting to an eyelet or eye. The eye can be positioned relative to the shank portions at one of ninety-degrees, forty-five degrees, or thirty degrees.
[0028] Referring initially to the drawings,
[0029] The hook 100 and wires can be made from high-carbon steel. The barbs 112, 114 and points 113, 115 are sharp for catching and locking fish. Further, the jig hook 100 is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater. The barbs 112, 114 are helpful to lock a fish and are useful for bass fishing, largemouth bass, walleye, crappie salmon, trout, panfish carp, and more.
[0030]
[0031] The jig head 214 can be used for attaching an artificial or natural bait for catching a fish. The barbs 218, 220, 222, 224 of the jig hook 200 are designed to work in coordination to maximize securement and success rates when hooking fish.
