    Abstract

An apparatus is provided that includes a golf club putter having a putting head, a shaft having a lower end connected to putting head, a hand grip connected to an upper end of the shaft and a ball position marker removably attached to an upper end of the hand grip.

    Claims

    1. Apparatus comprising: a golf club putter having a putting head, a shaft having a lower end connected to the putting head, and a hand grip connected to an upper end of the shaft; a ball position marker removably attached to an upper end of the hand grip; a ball position marker holder connected to the upper end of the hand grip, the ball position marker being releasably connected to the ball position marker holder; wherein the ball position marker holder has an open upper end configured for holding the ball position marker in the upper end of the ball position marker holder, and a chamber communicating with the upper open end of the ball position marker holder, and a magnet disposed within the chamber; wherein the ball position marker, the magnet, and the ball position marker holder are mutually configured to allow an edge of the ball position marker to be pressed inward in the chamber at any point on an edge of the ball position marker a distance sufficient to extend the entirety of an opposite edge of the ball position marker above an outermost surface of the ball position marker holder, for grasping and removing the ball position marker from the ball position marker holder.

    2. (canceled)

    3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the hand grip has a hole in the upper end of the hand grip, and the ball position marker holder has a probe connected to one end of the ball position marker holder configured for holding the ball position marker holder in the hole in an upper end of the hand grip.

    4. (canceled)

    5. (canceled)

    6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a post within a center of the chamber in the ball position marker holder for preventing movement of a center of the ball position marker inward in the chamber.

    7. (canceled)

    8. The apparatus of claim 7 wherein the post includes a magnet and the ball position marker comprises a magnetic attractive material.

    9. Apparatus comprising a ball position marker; a ball position marker holder configured to be removably attached to an upper end of a hand grip of a golf club putter, the ball position marker being releasably connected to the ball position marker holder; wherein the ball position marker holder has an open upper end configured for holding the ball position marker in the upper end of the ball position marker holder, and a chamber communicating with the upper open end of the ball position marker holder, and a magnet disposed within the chamber; wherein the ball position marker, the magnet, and the ball position marker holder are mutually configured to allow an edge of the ball position marker to be pressed inward in the chamber a distance sufficient to extend the entirety of an opposite edge of the ball position marker above an outermost surface of the ball position marker holder, for grasping and removing the ball position marker from the ball position marker holder.

    10. (canceled)

    11. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein an end of the ball position marker holder has a probe configured for extension through a hole in an end of the hand grip.

    12. The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the probe is configured to allow penetration into the hole and resisting removal from the hole of the hand grip.

    13. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the probe comprises a screw-shaped lateral extension configured for twisting the probe into the hole in the hand grip.

    14. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein a height of the post and a lateral dimension of the chamber are mutually sized to allow an edge of the ball position marker to be pressed inward in the chamber a distance sufficient to extend the entirety of an opposite edge of the ball position marker above an outermost surface of the ball position marker holder.

    15. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising a post within a center of the chamber in the ball position marker holder for preventing movement of a center of the ball position marker inward in the chamber.

    16. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein a height of the post and a lateral dimension of the chamber are mutually sized to allow an edge of the ball position marker to be pressed inward in the chamber a distance sufficient to extend the entirety of an opposite edge of the ball position marker above an outermost surface of the ball position marker holder.

    Description

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0016] FIG. 1 shows the new golf ball position marker holder positioned for insertion in an air hole in a top of a grip on a golf club shaft.

[0017] FIG. 2 shows the new golf ball position marker holder inserted in an air hole in a top of a grip on a golf club shaft and a ball position marker being inserted into the golf ball position marker holder.

[0018] FIG. 3 shows steps in removing the golf ball position marker from the golf ball position marker holder.

[0019] FIG. 4 shows details of the new golf ball position marker holder.

[0020] FIG. 5 shows a golf ball position marker ready to be placed in the new golf ball position marker holder that will be pushed and twisted into the air hole in the air hole at the top of a putter grip.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0021] In FIG. 1 a golf ball position marker 1 is shown ready to be placed against a magnet 2 in a surrounding metal case 3, which is a golf ball position marker holder. The metal case 3 has a probe 4 that is a screw. The probe is positioned ready to be pushed and twisted into the air hole in the top of a golf club putter grip 5.

[0022] FIG. 2 shows the golf ball position marker 1 pressed into the holder 3 against the magnet 2. The strong magnet holds the metal marker in the case 3 when the putter is inserted, carried and removed from a golf club bag.

[0023] FIG. 3 shows steps in removing the golf ball position marker 1 from the magnet 2 by pressing inward one edge of the marker 1, gripping an opposite edge and sliding the marker 1 away from the magnet 2 and the holder case 3. The magnet 2 may be bonded in the golf ball position marker holder case 3.

[0024] FIG. 4 shows details of an example of a golf ball position marker holder case 3 with a magnet 2.

[0025] FIG. 5 shows the putter shaft hand grip 5 with an air hole at the top and the screw threaded probe 4 on the golf ball position marker holder case 3. A golf ball position marker 1 is positioned to be placed in the golf ball position marker holder case 3. The screw threaded probe 4 extending from the case is ready to be pushed and twisted into its permanent position in the air hole in the top of the putter shaft attached grip 5.

[0026] The invention has been described and shown in a specific example. The invention is set forth in the following claims, which describe the invention.
