Description

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

[0021] A detailed description of the figures is given below:

[0022] FIG. 1 shows a sectional view of an embodiment of a protective cover; and

[0023] FIG. 2 shows a perspective sectional view of the protective cover as shown in FIG. 1.

[0024] FIG. 1 shows a protective cover 10 in the assembled state. In the embodiment example shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the protective cover is arranged on a measuring cell. Other uses of the protective cover are also conceivable.

[0025] The protective cover 10 has an essentially hollow cylindrical geometry, with one axial end being closed. More precisely, the protective cover 10 has a U-shaped geometry in section. The protective cover 10 comprises an annular wall 13, which is closed at one axial end by a circular wall 14. Alternatively, other shapes for the protective cover 10 are conceivable. For example, the protective cover 10 can have a polygonal shape.

[0026] A connecting element 11 is arranged on an outer surface in the assembled state. The connecting element 11 is arranged on the circular wall 14, which forms the axial end of the protective cover 10. In the mounted state, the circular wall 14 faces away from the measuring cell on which the protective cover 10 is mounted.

[0027] On the inner side in the assembled state, the protective cover 10 has a conductive area 15. In the present embodiment, the conductive area 15 is formed as a metal layer 15. The metal layer 15 is a sheet metal formed on the inside of the protective cover 10. This means that the sheet metal is adapted to the shape of the protective cover 10. The sheet metal has recesses for the pins of the connecting element 11.

[0028] The metal layer 15 comprises nickel or a nickel alloy. Alternatively, other metals or alloys or a conductive plastic are possible. The conductive area can have other shapes. For example, it is conceivable that the electrically conductive area comprises a grid structure. It is also conceivable that the conductive area is integrated into the plastic, for example by injection molding.

[0029] The connecting element 11 is configured as a plug and comprises four pins. The four pins extend through the protective cover 10 and are connected to an electrical circuit 12, which is designed here as a circuit board. The connecting element 11 is designed to transmit data or electrical signals from the electrical circuit 12.

[0030] The protective cover 10 is glued to a measuring cell. Alternatively, other force-fit, form-fit or material-fit connections are possible.

[0031] The terms used in the claims should be construed to have the broadest reasonable interpretation consistent with the foregoing description. For example, the use of the article a or the in introducing an element should not be interpreted as being exclusive of a plurality of elements. Likewise, the recitation of or should be interpreted as being inclusive, such that the recitation of A or B is not exclusive of A and B, unless it is clear from the context or the foregoing description that only one of A and B is intended. Further, the recitation of at least one of A, B and C should be interpreted as one or more of a group of elements consisting of A, B and C, and should not be interpreted as requiring at least one of each of the listed elements A, B and C, regardless of whether A, B and C are related as categories or otherwise.

[0032] Moreover, the recitation of A, B and/or C or at least one of A, B or C should be interpreted as including any singular entity from the listed elements, e.g., A, any subset from the listed elements, e.g., A and B, or the entire list of elements A, B and C.
