Abstract
An adjustable mattress topper assembly disposed in a cover is disclosed. The topper assembly may have one or two inflatable multi-valve bladder assemblies filled with foam; the topper assembly may be disposed in a topper body of foam. A hand-trigger may be used to operate a valve and inflate and deflate the bladder assembly, which may be located below the lumbar of a supine user.
Claims
1. A adjustable mattress topper assembly comprising a multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly; an outer cover; a topper body, the topper body defining a cavity, wherein the multi-valve inflatable bladder assembly is disposed within the cavity, wherein the topper body is disposed within the outer cover, the topper body comprising a top panel; bottom panel; middle panel; wherein the middle panel comprises a first short wall having a first density; a second short wall having a second density; a first long wall having a third density; a second long wall having a fourth density; a head cushioning element having a fifth density; and, a foot cushioning element having a sixth density.
2. The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 1, the first multi-valve inflatable bladder assembly further comprising a multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder; a first inlet coupled to the multi-valve inflatable bladder; an openable-closable first valve coupled to the first inlet; a second inlet coupled to the multi-valve inflatable bladder; and, a hand-adjustable valve operable to be in an open position or a closed position so as to cause the inflatable foam-filled bladder to be substantially airtight when the hand-adjustable valve is in a closed position, wherein the hand-adjustable valve is coupled to the second inlet.
3. The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 2, wherein the first short wall is fused to the head cushioning element and the second short wall is fused to the foot cushioning element.
4. The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 2, wherein an average density of a sum of the first density, the second density, the third density, and the fourth density is less than an average density of a sum of the fifth density and the sixth density.

The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 2, further comprising a hose having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is coupled to the second inlet and the second end is coupled to the hand-adjustable valve; wherein the hand-adjustable valve further comprises a finger-operable trigger operable to open the valve when the finger-operable trigger is depressed and operable to close the valve when the finger-operable trigger is released.

The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 5 wherein the topper body comprises foam selected from the group consisting of polyurethane regular foam having an average density ranging between 19 kg to 66 kg, toluene diisocyanate memory foam having an average density ranging between 34 kg to 66 kg, toluene diisocyanate regular foam having a density range between 19 kg to 36 kg, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate memory foam having a destiny range of 24 kg to 51 kg and combinations thereof; wherein the topper body further comprises a hose channel area defining a hose channel engulfing a portion of the hose and a valve channel area defining a valve channel providing access to the first valve.
7. The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 6, wherein the foam of the topper body further comprises an infusion element selected from the group consisting of gel, gel beads, gel swirls, charcoal, bamboo, lavender, aloe, green tea, chamomile, silver, copper, and combinations thereof.

The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim of 6, the multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder having a length and a position describable by a set of key metrics selected from the group consisting of a) relative length ratio equal to 43% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 18%, b) relative length ratio equal to 40% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 15%, c) relative length ratio equal to 37% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 18%, d) relative length ratio equal to 46% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 18%, e) relative length ratio equal to 46% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 21%, f) relative length ratio equal to 49% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 18%, g) relative length ratio equal to 46% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 19%, h) relative length ratio equal to 46% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 20%, i) relative length ratio equal to 40% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 10%, j) relative length ratio equal to 45% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 15%, and k) relative length ratio equal to 43% and a laterally-aligned edge distance ratio equal to 40%.

The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim of 6, the multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder having a length and a position describable by a set of key metrics, wherein a) the relative length ratio of the foam-filled bladder inclusively ranges between 1% and n %, b) the laterally-aligned edge distance ratio inclusively ranges between 10% and 50%, and c) the sum of the relative length ratio and the laterally-aligned edge distance ratio is between 11% and 99.5%.

The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim of 9 wherein the multi-valve foam-filled inflatable bladder comprises foam selected from the group selected from the group consisting of polyurethane regular foam having an average density ranging between 19 kg to 66 kg, toluene diisocyanate memory foam having an average density ranging between 34 kg to 66 kg, toluene diisocyanate regular foam having a density range between 19 to 36 kg, methylene diphenyl diisocyanate memory foam having a density range of 24 kg to 51 kg, and combinations thereof.
11. The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim of 10, wherein the foam of the foam-filled bladder further comprises an infusion element selected from the group consisting of gel, gel beads, gel swirls, charcoal, bamboo, lavender, aloe, green tea, chamomile, silver, copper, and combinations thereof.

The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 11, wherein the first short wall has a width inclusively within the range of 2 inches to 6 inches, the second short wall has a width inclusively within the range of 2 inches to 6 inches, the first long wall has a width inclusively within the range of 2 inches to 6 inches, the second long wall has a width inclusively within the range of 2 inches to 6 inches, the head cushioning element has a length inclusively within the range of 10 inches to 25 inches, the foot cushioning element has a length inclusively within the range of 20 inches to 35 inches, the multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder has a width inclusively within the range of 20 inches to 34 inches, and the multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder has a length inclusively within the range of 20 inches to 40 inches.
13. The adjustable mattress topper assembly of claim 1, further comprising a second multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly disposed within the cavity, wherein the second multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder is adjacent to the multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly, the second multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly comprising a second hose having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of the second hose is coupled to a third inlet and the second end of the second hose is coupled to a second hand-adjustable valve; wherein the second hand-adjustable valve further comprises a second finger-operable trigger operable to open the valve when the second finger-operable trigger is depressed and operable to close the valve when the second finger-operable trigger is released.
14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein a combined width of a width of the multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly and a width of the second multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly is a value inclusively within a range of 40 inches to 76 inches.
15. A method of using a multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly; providing a multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly; the multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder assembly comprising a multi-valve inflatable foam-filled bladder; a first inlet coupled to the multi-valve inflatable bladder; an openable-closable first valve coupled to the first inlet; a second inlet coupled to the multi-valve inflatable bladder; and, a hand-adjustable valve having a finger-operable trigger, the hand adjustable valve operable to be in an open position or a closed position so as to cause the inflatable foam-filled bladder to be substantially airtight when the hand-adjustable valve is in a closed position, wherein the hand-adjustable valve is coupled via a hose to the second inlet; providing an outer cover; providing a topper body, the topper body defining a cavity, wherein the multi-valve inflatable bladder assembly is disposed within the cavity, wherein the topper body is disposed within the outer cover, the topper body comprising a top panel; bottom panel; middle panel; wherein the middle panel comprises a first short wall having a first density; a second short wall having a second density; a first long wall having a third density; a second long wall having a fourth density; a head cushioning element having a fifth density; and, a foot cushioning element having a sixth density; applying pressure directly to the outer cover and indirectly to the top panel while simultaneously activating the hand-adjustable valve via pressing the finger-operable trigger, thereby deflating the inflatable foam-filled bladder.
