Abstract
A ring has an annular configuration with an exterior surface and an interior surface. The ring circumferentially has a left side and a right side and a top and a bottom. The ring has a center. A passageway is formed in the ring for the removable receipt of a necklace. The passageway includes a left hole and a right hole. Each hole is located adjacent to the top and extends radially between the exterior surface and the interior surface. The left hole is offset from the vertical centerline toward the left side. The right hole is offset from the vertical centerline toward the right side. The passageway also includes an arcuate recess extending upwardly from the interior surface and extending to include the left and right holes.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0024] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0025] The present invention, the ring/necklace system 10 is comprised of a plurality of components. Such components in their broadest context include a ring having an annular configuration with an exterior surface and an interior surface. The left hole is offset from vertical centerline toward the left side. The right hole is offset from the vertical centerline toward the right side. The passageway also includes an arcuate recess extending upwardly from the interior surface and extending to include the left and right holes. Such components are individually configured and correlated with respect to each other so as to attain the desired objective.
[0026] From a specific perspective, the invention of the present application is a ring/necklace system 10 for jointly wearing a necklace 12 supporting a ring 14 and for separately wearing the necklace and the ring. The jointly wearing and the separately wearing are done in a safe, eye-appealing, convenient, and economical manner. The system includes the necklace 12 which is fabricated of a strand 16 and a clasp 18. The strand is fabricated of a metallic material. The strand has a length of from 12 to 24 inches. The clasp is for forming the strand into an enclosed loop necklace positionable around a neck of a wearer. The clasp and the strand have a width along their entire length less than 2.4 millimeters, plus or minus 10 percent.
[0027] The ring 14 has an annular configuration with an exterior surface 22 and an interior surface 24 separated by a thickness of 2.5 millimeters, plus or minus 10 percent. The ring 20 circumferentially has a left side 26 and a right side 28 and a top 30 and a bottom 32. The ring 20 having a vertical centerline between the top and the bottom. The ring 20 have a horizontal centerline between the left side and the right side. The vertical and horizontal centerlines intersect at a center.
[0028] A passageway 36 is formed in the ring for the removable receipt of the strand and the clasp. The passageway includes a left hole 38 and a right hole 40. Each hole has a diameter greater than the width of the clasp and the strand. Each hole is located adjacent to the top and extends radially between the exterior surface and the interior surface. The left hole is offset from the vertical centerline by from 35 to 40 degrees toward the left side. The right hole being offset from the vertical centerline by from 35 to 40 degrees toward the right side. The passageway also includes an arcuate recess 42 extending upwardly from the interior surface and extending to include the left and right holes. The arcuate recess has a depth essentially equal to half the thickness of the ring whereby the arcuate recess obscures the strand within the recess when the ring/neckless system is worn.
[0029] The exterior surface has a smooth and unadorned region 46 adjacent to and between the left and right holes. The exterior surface remote from the holes has a decorative region 48.
[0030] As to the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.
[0031] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
[0032] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
