Abstract
A dual purpose ink pen that includes: a top lighter portion; a bottom pen portion; a lighter at a distal end of the top portion; a fill valve at a midpoint of the pen, where the fill valve is adapted to receive fuel for the lighter; and an ink pen assembly in the bottom portion below the fill valve, where the ink pen assembly includes a trigger.
Claims
1. A dual purpose ink pen comprising: a top lighter portion, wherein the top lighter portion includes a cap and a pocket clip; a bottom pen portion; a lighter at a distal end of the top portion; a fill valve at a midpoint of the pen, where the fill valve is adapted to receive fuel for the lighter; and an ink pen assembly in the bottom portion below the fill valve, where the ink pen assembly includes a trigger and an ink cartridge on the interior, wherein the trigger extends the cartridge to an extended position and retracts the ink cartridge to a closed position.
2. The dual purpose ink pen according to claim 1, further includes a grip surface surrounding the pen assembly in the bottom portion.
3. The dual purpose ink pen according to claim 1, where the lighter includes a flip top and a flame ignitor extending from an edge.

[0006] The present invention relates to a dual purpose ink pen-lighter that has a lighter within the top portion of the utensil. At the bottom portion of the utensil is the writing instrument in the form of an ink pen. These components are joined together to provide a positive dual purpose ink pen.

This clear separation allows for the refilling capabilities of the fill valve 22 as opposed to the disclosure of the above-referenced prior art.
