[0025] Before the present features and working principle of a device is described, it is to be understood that this invention is not limited to the particular system as described, since it may vary within the specification indicated. Various features of a device might be provided by introducing variations within the components/subcomponents disclosed herein. It is also to be understood that the terminology used in the description is for the purpose of describing the particular versions or embodiments only, and is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention, which will be limited only by the appended claims. The words “comprising,” “having,” “containing,” and “including,” and other forms thereof, are intended to be equivalent in meaning and be open ended in that an item or items following any one of these words is not meant to be an exhaustive listing of such item or items, or meant to be limited to only the listed item or items.

[0026] It should be understood that the present invention describes a device for applying a liquid material to hair and detangling the hair. The device comprises a main body having a first body and a second body. The first body connects to the second body forming a cavity. The first body comprises a plate receiving section forming an opening to the cavity. The second body comprises slots. The first body comprises a plate at the plate receiving section. The device comprises bristles connecting the second body in alignment with the slots. The plate demounts from the first body and allows for filling of a liquid material into the cavity. The plate mounts to the first body sealing the first body. The liquid material flows through the bristles for moisturizing hair. Further, the bristles detangle the hair.

[0027] Various features and embodiments of the device for applying a liquid material to hair and detangling the hair are explained in conjunction with the description of FIGS. 1A-5.

[0028] The present invention discloses a device 10 for applying a liquid material to hair and detangling the hair. FIGS. 1A, 1B and 1C show a top perspective view, a bottom perspective view and a side view, respectively of device 10, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. Device 10 is made of a material such as plastic, metal, wood or any other suitable material. Device 10 includes a main body 12 having a first part 14 and a second part or bristle handler 16. Device 10 includes a handle 18. Handle 18 extends from main body 12 and helps a user (not shown) to hold and operate device 10.

[0029] In the present invention, first part 14 comes in a cup-like structure and acts as a top or upper part of main body 12. Second part 16 comes in a cup-like structure and acts as a bottom or lower part of main body 12. First part 14 is larger than second part 16, or vice versa. Second part 16 snugly fits into first part 14 forming a cavity 20, as shown in FIG. 4. Here, cavity 20 acts as a liquid reservoir for holding liquid material 44.

[0030] Further, first part 14 encompasses a plate receiving section 22, as shown in FIG. 2. Plate receiving section 22 indicates an opening at the top first part 14 configured for receiving plate 26. In one example, plate receiving section 22 includes a plate receptor 24. Plate receptor 24 indicates an area where plate 26 sits in plate receiving section 22 forming a closed structure with first part 14. Plate 26 comes in a flat configuration or in the shape in conformity to first part 14. Plate 26 encompasses plate protrusion member 28. Plate protrusion member 28 extends from a side of plate 26 and helps to connect plate 26 at plate receptor 24. First part 14 further includes a cut-section 32 at the top. Cut-section 32 indicates an area chipped away at the top of first part 14 for allowing the user to have an area to release plate 26 from first part 14 for filling or emptying liquid material 44 from cavity 20.

[0031] In one embodiment, first part 14 includes sealing member or seal 30, as shown in FIG. 2. Sealing member 30 indicates an adhesive strip or connecting member that sits underneath plate 26 and helps to connect plate 26 to plate receptor 24.

[0032] Further, second part 16 encompasses slots 36, as shown in FIG. 3. Slots 36 connect to bristles 38. Here, bristles 38 extend from second part 16 in the opposite direction of first part 14. Bristles 38 are made of silicone, wood, plastic or any other suitable material. Each bristle 38 has a tapered section or tapered configuration 40. Further, bristles 38 encompass holes 42, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. Here, holes 42 align with slots 36 in second part 16 such that liquid material 44 stored in cavity 20 flows through holes 42 of bristles 38. As the bristles 38 are tapered, liquid material 44 flows down easily due to gravity.

[0033] In operation, the user opens plate 26 and fills liquid material 44 in cavity 20 in the direction 34, as shown in FIG. 2. Liquid material 44 includes, but not limited to, hairdressing agent, a hair dye, a moisturizer, a protective agent, shampoo, conditioner, a hair restorer, etc. After filling liquid material 44, the user snugly fits plate 26 to first part 14 at plate receiving section 22 or plate receptor 24. Here, sealing member 30 helps to retain plate 26 in position with respect to plate receiving section 22. Additionally, sealing member 30 ensures there is no gap between plate 26 and plate receiving section 22 thereby preventing leakage of liquid material 44. In use, the user positions bristles 38 facing the scalp or head of the user. Liquid material 44 flows down through slots 46 at second part 16 and holes 42 at bristles 38. Liquid material 44 exits bristles 38 and falls over the scalp or head of the user. The user can position device 10 at an angle to control the flow or direction of liquid material 44 falling over the scalp or head of the user depending on the need. Alternatively, the user positions device 10 horizontally such that liquid material 44 gets dispensed evenly through bristles 38.

[0034] Further, the user can use device 10 for detangling the hair. A person skilled in the art understands that device 10 can be used to detangle the hair with or without (i.e., detangle dry hair or comb the hair) the liquid material 44 stored in cavity 20. In one example, the user fills liquid material 44 in cavity 20 and positions bristles 38 over the scalp to apply a small amount of liquid material 44 thereby moisturizing the hair. Subsequently, the user positions bristles 38 to detangle the hair. After use, the user removes plate 26, first part 14, second part 16 and/or bristles 38, and uses warm water to clean residue of liquid material 44.

[0035] Based on the above, it is evident that the presently disclosed device can be used to apply a liquid material and/or detangle the hair. The presently disclosed device can be used as a hair brush to oil dry scalp, moisturize hair to prevent breakage, evenly dye hair, detangle dry and wet hair, and provide deep shampoo and conditioning.

[0036] A person skilled in the art appreciates that the device may come in a variety of shapes and sizes depending on the need. Further, different materials in addition to or instead of materials described herein may also be used and such implementations may be construed to be within the scope of the present invention. Further, many changes in the design and placement of components may take place without deviating from the scope of the presently disclosed device.

[0037] In the above description, numerous specific details are set forth such as examples of some embodiments, specific components, devices, methods, in order to provide a thorough understanding of embodiments of the present invention. It will be apparent to a person of ordinary skill in the art that these specific details need not be employed, and should not be construed to limit the scope of the invention.

[0038] In the development of any actual implementation, numerous implementation-specific decisions must be made to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with system-related and business-related constraints. Such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming, but may nevertheless be a routine undertaking of design, fabrication, and manufacture for those of ordinary skill. Hence as various changes could be made in the above constructions without departing from the scope of the invention, it is intended that all matter contained in the above description or shown in the accompanying drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.

[0039] The foregoing description of embodiments is provided to enable any person skilled in the art to make and use the invention. Various modifications to these embodiments will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art, and the novel principles and invention disclosed herein may be applied to other embodiments without the use of the innovative faculty. It is contemplated that additional embodiments are within the spirit and true scope of the disclosed invention.
