    Abstract

    A packaging assembly for a pair of eyeglasses. The packaging assembly includes: a front face, the front face comprising at least one front hanger opening and at least two eyeglass temple openings, and a fastening structure configured to restrict removal of an at least one eyeglass temple from the front face. The packaging assembly is configured to facilitate sampling of the pair of eyeglasses while engaged with the packaging assembly. The packaging assembly may include a back face connected to the front face; a cutout; and at least one security element. Furthermore, the fastening structure and at least two eyeglass temple openings may be cooperatively structured to dispose the pair of eyeglasses in a stored position in overlying relation to the front face. Additionally, the present invention relates to a packaging assembly that is practicalthereby permitting a user to effectively sample the pair of eyeglasses by trying them on.

    Claims

    1. A packaging assembly for a pair of eyeglasses comprising: a front face, said front face structurally disposed to be removably mounted on a display structure, said front face comprising: at least two eyeglass temple openings formed on said front face, said at least two eyeglass temple openings cooperatively structured and disposed to receive an at least one eyeglass temple therethrough and removably retain the at least one eyeglass temple therein; and a fastening structure configured to restrict removal of the at least one eyeglass temple from said front face, said fastening structure and said at least two eyeglass temple openings cooperatively structured and disposed to facilitate movement of at least one component of the pair of eyeglasses outwardly from said front face such that the pair of eyeglasses is configured in a sampling position.

    2. The packaging assembly of claim 1, wherein said front face further comprises at least one front hanger opening, said at least one front hanger opening configured to receive at least one hanging insert.

    3. The packaging assembly of claim 1, wherein said at least two eyeglass temple openings comprises a first eyeglass temple opening and a second eyeglass temple opening.

    4. The packaging assembly of claim 1, wherein said fastening structure comprises at least two fastening members, each of said at least two fastening members structurally disposed in aligned relation with a different one of said at least two eyeglass temple openings.

    5. The packaging assembly of claim 4, wherein each of said at least two fastening members comprises an elastic structure configured to restrict removal of the at least one eyeglass temple from said front face.

    6. The packaging assembly of claim 1, wherein said fastening structure and said at least two eyeglass temple openings are further cooperatively structured to dispose the pair of eyeglasses in a stored position in overlying relation to said front face.

    7. The packaging assembly of claim 1, wherein said packaging assembly further comprises a back face, said back face hingedly connected to said front face.

    8. The packaging assembly of claim 7, wherein said back face comprises at least one back hanger opening, said at least one back hanger opening configured to receive the at least one hanging insert.

    9. The packaging assembly of claim 7, wherein said back face and said front face are structurally configured to cooperatively encompass an eyeglass case therebetween.

    10. The packaging assembly of claim 9, wherein said packaging assembly further comprises a cutout formed in said front face, said cutout structurally configured to facilitate access to the eyeglass case.

    11. The packaging assembly of claim 9, wherein said packaging assembly further comprises a cutout formed in said back face, said cutout structurally configured to facilitate access to the eyeglass case.

    12. The packaging assembly of claim 1, wherein said packaging assembly further comprises at least one security element, said at least one security element configured to deter theft.

    13. The packaging assembly of claim 12, wherein said at least one security element comprises an auditory indicator.

    14. The packaging assembly of claim 12, wherein said at least one security element comprises a visual indicator.

    15. A packaging assembly for a pair of eyeglasses comprising: a front face, said front face structurally disposed to be removably mounted on a display structure, said front face comprising: at least two eyeglass temple openings formed on said front face, said at least two eyeglass temple openings cooperatively structured and disposed to receive an at least one eyeglass temple therethrough and removably retain the at least one eyeglass temple therein; a back face, said back face hingedly connected to said front face; a fastening structure configured to restrict removal of the at least one eyeglass temple from said front face, said fastening structure and said at least two eyeglass temple openings cooperatively structured and disposed to facilitate movement of at least one component of the pair of eyeglasses outwardly from said front face such that the pair of eyeglasses is configured in a sampling position, said fastening structure comprising: at least two fastening members, each of said at least two fastening members structurally disposed in aligned relation with a different one of said at least two eyeglass temple openings; and said fastening structure and said at least two eyeglass temple openings cooperatively structured to dispose the pair of eyeglasses in a stored position in overlying relation to said front face.

The packaging assembly of claim 15, wherein said front face comprises at least one front hanger opening and said back face comprises at least one back hanger opening, said at least one front hanger opening and said at least one back hanger opening configured in aligned relation with one another.

    17. The packaging assembly of claim 15, wherein said front face and said back face are structurally configured to cooperatively encompass an eyeglass case therebetween and said packaging assembly further comprises a cutout, said cutout structurally configured to facilitate access to the eyeglass case.

    18. The packaging assembly of claim 15, wherein said packaging assembly further comprises at least one security element, said at least one security element configured to deter theft.

    19. The packaging assembly of claim 18, wherein said at least one security element comprises an auditory indicator.

    20. The packaging assembly of claim 18, wherein said at least one security element comprises a visual indicator.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

This invention may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein; rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the invention to those skilled in the art.

    [0027] Turning now descriptively to the figures, FIGS. 1-8 illustrate an inventive packaging assembly for a pair of eyeglasses which more effectively facilitates the assessmentof aesthetic factors, functional aspects, and overall fitand sampling of a pair of eyeglasses by a user while concurrently providing supplemental information about the pair of eyeglasses such that the user is adequately informed and keeping the pair of eyeglasses fastened to the packaging assembly and suspended in a substantially horizontal manner.

    [0028] FIGS. 1-8 show that the packaging assembly 10 may comprise a front face 100, the front face 100 structurally disposed to be removably mounted on a display structure, comprising (1) at least one front hanger opening 110, the at least one front hanger opening 110 configured to receive at least one hanging insert, and (2) at least two eyeglass temple openings 120 formed on the front face 100, the at least two eyeglass temple openings 120 cooperatively structured and disposed to receive an at least one eyeglass temple therethrough and removably retain the at least one eyeglass temple therein. By way of non-limiting example, in one embodiment of the present invention, seen in FIGS. 1, 2, and 6-8, the at least two eyeglass temple openings 120 comprise a first eyeglass temple opening 121 and a second eyeglass temple opening 122, each configured to receive one eyeglass temple therethrough. By way of additional non-limiting example, in at least some embodiments of the present invention, the at least two eyeglass temple openings are cooperatively structured and disposed to receive an at least one eyeglass temple therethrough and removably retain the at least one eyeglass temple in a substantially horizontal manner.

    [0029] FIGS. 1-3 and 6-7 show that the packaging assembly 10 may also comprise a fastening structure 130 configured to restrict removal of the at least one eyeglass temple from the front face 100, the fastening structure 130 and the at least two eyeglass temple openings 120 cooperatively structured and disposed to facilitate movement of at least one component of the pair of eyeglasses outwardly from the front face 100 such that the pair of eyeglasses is configured in a sampling position. By way of non-limiting example, seen via combination of FIGS. 3 and 6, the fastening structure 130 and the at least two eyeglass temple openings 120 are further cooperatively structured to dispose the pair of eyeglasses 20 in a stored position in overlying relation to the front face 100. In some embodiments of the present invention, seen in FIGS. 1-3 and 6-7, the fastening structure 130 may comprise at least two fastening members, each of the at least two fastening members structurally disposed in aligned relation with a different opening of the at least two eyeglass temple openings 120. In such embodiments, and by way of additional non-limiting example, each of the at least two fastening members comprise an elastic structure configured to restrict removal of the at least one eyeglass temple from the front face 100.

    [0030] In some embodiments of the present invention, seen in FIGS. 1, 2, and 6-8, the packaging assembly 10 may also comprise a back face 200, the back face 200 hingedly connected to the front face 100. In such embodiments wherein the packaging assembly comprises a back face 200, seen in FIGS. 4-5 and 7-8, the back face 200 may comprise at least one back hanger opening 210, the at least one back hanger opening 210 configured to receive at least one hanging insert. By way of non-limiting example, seen via combination of FIGS. 3 and 6, the back face 200 and the front face 100 are structurally configured to cooperatively encompass an eyeglass case 30 therebetween. Moreover, and by way of additional non-limiting example, in such embodiments wherein the packaging assembly 10 comprises a back face 200 and at least one back hanger opening 210, seen in FIGS. 7-8, the at least one back hanger opening 210 is configured to receive a hanging insert to be subsequently received by the at least one front hanger opening 110. In such embodiments wherein the back face 200 and the front face 100 are structurally configured to cooperatively encompass an eyeglass case 30 therebetween, seen via combination of FIGS. 3 and 6, the packaging assembly 10 may comprise a cutout 300 formed in the front face 100, the cutout 300 structurally configured to facilitate access to the eyeglass case 30. Additionally, in such embodiments, the packaging assembly 10 may comprise a cutout 300 formed in the back face 200, the cutout 300 structurally configured to facilitate access to the eyeglass case 30.

    [0031] Furthermore, as seen in FIG. 6, the packaging assembly 10 may also be configured to facilitate sampling of the pair of eyeglasses 20 by a user while the pair of eyeglasses 20 is engaged with the packaging assembly 10. In some embodiments of the present invention, seen in FIG. 6, the pair of eyeglasses 20 can be manipulated between a stored position and a sampling position when engaged with the packaging assembly 10. To sample the pair of eyeglasses 20 while engaged with the packaging assembly 10, the user may manipulate the pair of eyeglasses 20 from the stored position to the sampling position such that the pair of eyeglasses 20 may be placed on an individual's head (i.e., for the user to try on the pair of eyeglasses 20).

    [0032] Moreover, seen in FIGS. 7-8, the packaging assembly 10 may also comprise at least one security element 400, the at least one security element 400 configured to deter theft. In some embodiments of the present invention, the at least one security element 400 may be located between the front face 100 and the back face 200. In other embodiments of the present invention, the at least one security element 400 may be located on either the front face 100 or the back face 200. In yet additional embodiments of the present invention, the at least one security element 400 may be located on either a reverse side of the front face or a reverse side of the back face. By way of non-limiting example, in embodiments wherein the back face 200 and the front face 100 are structurally configured to cooperatively encompass an eyeglass case therebetween, seen in FIG. 3, the at least one security element 400 may be located within the eyeglass case 30. Additionally, in at least some embodiments of the present invention, the at least one security element 400 comprises an auditory indicator. In at least some other embodiments of the present invention, the at least one security element 400 comprises a visual indicator.
