BUTTOCK ENHANCING PAD

Abstract

A buttock enhancing pad of the type used in a garment worn on a wearer's buttock is provided. The periphery of the pad has five sides to realistically mimic the shape of a buttock: a first edge extending along the midline of the body; a second edge extending from the first edge across the top edge of the pad along the top of the buttock; a third edge extending from the second edge and is the outer-most edge of the pad; a fourth edge extending from the third edge forming a rounded side running along the bottom quadrant, along the outer edge of the buttock cheek; and a fifth edge extending from the fourth edge and connecting to the first edge and running along the bottom edge of the pad, ensuring that the pad upholds its intended shape while being worn upright inside the pad pocket of a garment.

Claims

1. A buttock enhancing pad of the type used in a garment worn on a wearer's buttock, comprising; a pad having an interior side facing the wearer's body that is flat and an outward side having a bulbous dome shape arranged to define a desired buttock profile when the interior side of the body enhancing pad is positioned adjacent a buttock of the wearer, the periphery of said buttock pad having five sides to realistically mimic the shape of a buttock; a first edge of the pad extending along the midline of the wearer's body, a second edge extending from said first edge across the top edge of said buttock pad along the top of the buttock, a third edge extending from said second edge and is the outer-most edge of the buttock pad; a fourth edge extends from said third edge forming a rounded side running along the bottom quadrant, along the outer edge of the buttock cheek; and a fifth edge extending from said fourth edge and connecting to said first edge and running along the bottom edge of the pad, ensuring that the pad upholds its intended shape while being worn upright inside the pad pocket of a garment.

2. The buttock enhancing pad according to claim 1 wherein the pad is made from silicone.

3. The buttock enhancing pad according to claim 1 wherein said pad is encased with a cover.

4. The buttock enhancing pad according to claim 1 wherein said first edge forms a straight portion parallel to the midline of the wearer's body and said second edge extending from said first edge along the top of the buttock is straight.

5. The buttock enhancing pad according to claim 1 wherein said pad is held in place by placing said pad in a pocket located in the buttock portion of the wearer's garment.

6. The buttock enhancing pad according to claim 1 wherein said pad is held in place by placing said pad by an adhesive.

7. A garment having an enhanced buttock portion comprising: A pair of under pants having at least one buttock pad located in the buttock area of the wearer; said pad having an interior side facing the wearer's body that is flat and an outward side having a bulbous dome shape arranged to define a desired buttock profile when the interior side of the body enhancing pad is positioned adjacent a buttock of the wearer, the periphery of said buttock pad having five sides to realistically mimic the shape of a buttock; a first edge of the pad extending along the midline of the wearer's body, a second edge extending from said first edge across the top edge of said buttock pad along the top of the buttock, a third edge extending from said second edge and is the outer-most edge of the buttock pad; a fourth edge extends from said third edge forming a rounded side running along the bottom quadrant, along the outer edge of the buttock cheek; and a fifth edge extending from said fourth edge and connecting to said first edge and running along the bottom edge of the pad, ensuring that the pad upholds its intended shape while being worn upright inside the pad pocket of a garment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT(S)

[0014] The present invention now will be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which preferred embodiments of the invention are shown. This invention may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein; rather these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete and will fully convey the scope of the invention to those skilled in the art. Like numbers refer to the elements throughout.

[0015] Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown a garment 10 being worn by a person for the purpose of accentuating or otherwise enhancing the shape and/or profile of the buttock region using buttock enhancing pads 12a and 12b. As shown in FIG. 1, the garment 10 is a panty, but it should be understood the other garments, such as lingerie or briefs, or an outer wear garment such as shorts, jeans or even swimwear may be used.

[0016] The size, shape and material that make up the body enhancing pad of the present invention are all design elements that ensure that the padding provides a realistic boosting effect on the wearer. The pad is designed with five sides meant to realistically mimic the shape of a buttock. [0017] As shown in FIG. 2, there is a rear view of an undergarment 11 containing a buttock enhancing pad 12b. In the view only one pad is shown for simplicity but it should be understood that usually there is a pad for each buttock. The pad 12b and pad 12a fit into the rear portion of undergarment 11. The pads may be held in place by a number of known methods as will be explained later. Normally the buttock pads 12a and 12b are mirror images of the other but there may be situations where it is desirable for one pad to be larger or smaller than the other.

[0018] The pads are designed to have five sides to realistically mimic the shape of the human buttock. The pads are of the type used in a garment worn on a wearer's buttock, as shown most clearly in FIG. 3. There is a first edge 14 of the pad extending along and roughly parallel to the midline 13 of the garment. The first edge is preferably, generally straight. The second edge 15 extends from the first edge across the top edge of the pad along the top of the buttock. The second edge is the edge nearest the waistline and it too is preferably, generally straight. There is a third edge 16 extending from the second edge and is also generally straight. This third edge 16 is the outer-most edge of the pad and is on the opposite side of the pad away from first edge 14. The fourth edge 17 extends from the third edge 16 forming a rounded side running along the bottom quadrant, along the outer edge of the buttock cheek. Lastly, the fifth edge 18 extends from the fourth edge and connects to the first edge and runs along the bottom edge of the pad ensuring that the pad upholds its intended shape while being worn upright inside the pad pocket of a garment.

[0019] The pads may vary in size depending upon the size of the wearer. For example, a pad ranging from 5.75 inches high by 5.75 inches wide by 0.5 inches thick at its thickest point is generally suitable for labeled small size. A large buttock pad might, for example, range from 7.8757.875 wide0.75 thick for a triple extra-large size.

[0020] As shown in FIG. 4, the side 20 of the buttock enhancing pad that faces the body is generally flat (congruent to the exterior of the wearer's buttock) while the outward side of the pad has a bulbous, dome shape 22, shaped to define a desired buttock profile mimicking the shape of the desired buttock.

[0021] The buttock pads are held in place within the garment by a variety of means. For example, the buttock pad may fit into a pocket sewn into the rear portion of undergarment 11. Another method of holding the pads in place is to sew them to the undergarment. Yet another method for holding the pads in place is to use a two-sided adhesive tape.

[0022] A pad can be worn over each cheek for realistic augmentation effect, however, some wearers may choose to wear only one pad over one buttock cheek as a prosthetic for missing, damaged or otherwise compromised gluteus muscle(s). The ideal curve-enhancing body pads are not detectable to the outside viewer. Therefore the size, shape and material that make up this body pad design are all crucial design elements that ensure that the padding provides a realistic boosting effect on the wearer.

[0023] In its preferred form, the buttock pad is made of silicone or a material having properties that mimic silicone. The buttock pad may also have a cover that encases the silicone to assist in maintaining the desired shape of the pad. Such covers may be of nylon, silicone, plastic membrane or other suitable material. The consistency and general physical properties of silicone mimic the human body's movement, form and feel making it a most desirable material for such an invention.

[0024] There are numerous benefits to wearing the buttock pads of the present invention. These benefits include but not limited to: (1) the fact that clothing may fit better and be more flattering when wearing the buttock pads. This results in the wearer having more wardrobe solutions, saving money and also opening the possibility of wearing different clothing styles; (2) avoidance of buttock augmentation surgery which is a highly invasive and permanent curve-enhancing solution with possible dangerous physical side-effects; and (3) increasing the self-confidence of the wearer.
