Description
EXAMPLES
Example 1
[0499] The composition of which the list of ingredients is indicated in the table below is prepared (unless otherwise indicated, the amounts are expressed as weight of raw material):
TABLE-US-00001 Phase Ingredient Content A Ethylcellulose (dispersion in water - 30% solids, 31.3 containing ethylcellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, cetyl alcohol; Aquacoat ECD 30 from FMC Biopolymer) A Octyldodecanol 25.9 A Hydrogenated styrene/methylstyrene/indene 7.8 copolymer (Regalite R1100 CG Hydrocarbon Resin, Eastman) B1 Sorbitan stearate and sucrose cocoate (Arlacel 3.8 2121 U-FL, Croda) B2 Hydroxypropyl guar (Jaguar HP 105 - Solvay) 0.2 F Diphenylsiloxyphenyl trimethicone (KF 56 A, 21.9 Shin-Etsu) G1 Red 33 0.04 G1 Yellow 6 0.22 G1 Water qs 100 G2 Red 7 0.8 H Preserving agent 0.7 H 96 ethanol 3.3
Procedure
[0500] 1/ Phase A is prepared by mixing, at 110 C., the hydrocarbon-based resin (Regalite) with the majority of the octyldodecanol, and the mixture is allowed to cool to room temperature.
[0501] 2/ The ethylcellulose is then added with Rayneri stirring at 50-55 C. at 1500 rpm.
[0502] 3/ The sorbitan stearate/sucrose cocoate mixture is then added with stirring until dissolution is complete.
[0503] 4/ The hydroxypropyl guar is introduced until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, followed by the diphenylsiloxyphenyl trimethicone with vigorous stirring which is maintained until the mixture is homogenized. The mixture is then allowed to cool to room temperature.
[0504] 5/ The water, the ethanol, the preserving agents and the dyes (phase G1) are then introduced, with stirring, to thoroughly disperse the dyes.
[0505] 6/ The mixture of Red 7 with the remaining part of the octyldodecanol (phase G2) is then added, with stirring.
[0506] A homogeneous, stable and fluid composition is obtained.
[0507] The composition is easy to apply to the lips and a comfortable, glossy and covering deposit of uniform thickness is obtained. The composition migrates very little after one hour. Additionally, the deposit applied to the lips remains glossy and non tacky.
[0508] Evaluation of the colour persistence is performed using a Chromasphere Samba machine, on six models.
[0509] A measurement is taken directly after applying the composition (10 minutes) and then after persistence tests (eating half an apple; 10 mouthfuls of sandwich, a hot or cold drink) the measurement is repeated.
[0510] The colour difference (in %) between the measurements before and after the tests is then calculated.
[0511] It is found that a composition in accordance with the invention (Example 1) gives significantly improved colour persistence, when compared with a composition in which the hydrocarbon-based resin has been replaced with the same content of octyldodecanol.
