Abstract
A cartridge extractor adaptor having a cylindrical adaptor configured to engage between a cartridge puller and faucet housing in order to extend the pulling force of the cartridge puller. The cartridge extractor adaptor may be constructed of a composite or a metal alloy, having a tensile strength and wall thickness that is substantially greater than the pulling force generated by the cartridge puller. The cartridge extractor adaptor is structured and arranged having a hollow core body with a tool receiver flange at its proximal end, and a valve housing receiver flange at its distal end. The hollow body includes a pair of cartridge guide relief openings in the sidewall.

A cartridge extractor adaptor, the cartridge extractor adaptor as a device comprising: a cylindrical adaptor configured to engage between a cartridge puller and a faucet housing; said cylindrical adaptor comprising; a hollow core body configured to have a tool receiving flange at its proximal end; and a valve housing receiving flange at its distal end; two cartridge guide relief openings in at least one sidewall extending from the distal end approximately 50% an overall length of the at least one sidewall and approximately 33% of a diameter width of the hollow core body configured to effectively provide an adapting means to extend a pulling force of the cartridge puller in order to fully extract and remove a valve cartridge from the faucet housing.
2. The device of claim 1, wherein the hollow core body is defined by said cylindrical adaptor and is configured to engage between said cartridge puller and said faucet housing.
3. The device of claim 1, wherein the hollow core body is constructed of a metal alloy material, having a tensile strength and wall thickness that is substantially greater than the pulling force generated by the cartridge puller such that said hollow core body does not substantially deform during use.
4. The device of claim 1, wherein diametric dimensions of said hollow core body is measured from an internal center point of 0.
5. The device of claim 4, wherein an internal side-wall of said at least one sidewall is 1.054 inch +/0.003 throughout said overall length of said hollow core body.
6. The device of claim 4, wherein an exterior wall of said at least one sidewall is 1.500 inch +/0.003 throughout said overall length of said hollow core body.
7. The device of claim 4, wherein the hollow core body has an overall side-wall length of 1.500 inch +/0.003.
8. The device of claim 5, wherein the hollow core body has a tool receiving flange that extends around an inner circumference of said proximal end of the internal-sidewall.
9. The device of claim 8, wherein said tool receiving flange is recessed into internal-sidewall to a depth of 0.050 inch +/0.003.
10. The device of claim 4, wherein said tool receiving flange is 1.250 inch +31 0.003 from said internal center point of 0.
11. The device of claim 1, wherein said hollow core body has at said distal end said valve housing receiving flange.
12. The device of claim 5, wherein said valve housing receiving flange is recessed into the internal-sidewall at said distal end to a depth of 0.250 inch +/31 0.003.
13. The device of claim 4, wherein said valve housing receiving flange is 1.280 inch +/0.003 from said internal center point of 0.
14. The device of claim 1, wherein said proximal end includes a pair of opposing said cartridge guide relief openings in said side-wall.
15. The device of claim 1, wherein said cartridge guide relief openings in the side-wall have an overall width of 0.700 inch +/0.003 when measured outwardly from a center line intersecting said side-wall of said hollow core body.
16. The device of claim 1, wherein the said cartridge guide relief openings extending to a depth of 0.625 inch +/0.003 from said distal end.
17. A cartridge extractor adaptor, the cartridge extractor adaptor being a device comprising: a cylindrical adaptor configured to engage between a cartridge puller and a faucet housing; said cylindrical adaptor comprising; a hollow core body configured to have a tool receiving flange at its proximal end; and a valve housing receiving flange at its distal end; two cartridge guide relief openings in at least one sidewall extending from the distal end approximately 50% an overall length of the at least one sidewall and approximately 33% of a diameter width of the hollow core body configured to effectively provide an adapting means to extend a pulling force of the cartridge puller in order to fully extract and remove a valve cartridge from the faucet housing; wherein the hollow core body is defined by said cylindrical adaptor and is configured to engage between said cartridge puller and said faucet housing; wherein diametric dimensions of said hollow core body is measured from an internal center point of 0; wherein an internal side-wall of said at least one sidewall is 1.054 inch +/0.003 throughout an overall length of said hollow core body; wherein an exterior wall of said at least one sidewall is 1.500 inch +/0.003 throughout said overall length of said hollow core body; and wherein the hollow core body has a tool receiving flange that extends around an inner circumference of said proximal end of the internal-sidewall.
18. The device of claim 17, further comprising set of instructions; and wherein the device is arranged as a kit.
19. A method of use of cartridge extractor adaptor, the method comprising the steps of: providing a cylindrical adaptor configured to engage between a cartridge puller and a faucet housing; said cylindrical adaptor comprising; a hollow core body configured to have a tool receiving flange at its proximal end; and a valve housing receiving flange at its distal end; two cartridge guide relief openings in at least one sidewall extending from the distal end approximately 50% an overall length of the at least one sidewall and approximately 33% of a diameter width of the hollow core body configured to effectively provide an adapting means to extend a pulling force of the cartridge puller in order to fully extract and remove a valve cartridge from the faucet housing; and placing valve housing receiver flange on faucet housing, positioning cartridge puller into the tool receiving flange, engaging cartridge puller to valve cartridge, and extracting said valve cartridge.
