DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0038] Some implementations of the present disclosure will now be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which some, but not all implementations of the disclosure are shown. Indeed, various implementations of the disclosure may be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the implementations set forth herein; rather, these example implementations are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the disclosure to those skilled in the art. For example, unless otherwise indicated, reference to something as being a first, second or the like should not be construed to imply a particular order. Also, for example, reference may be made herein to quantitative measures, values, relationships or the like (e.g., planar, coplanar, perpendicular). Unless otherwise stated, any one or more, if not all, of these may be absolute or approximate to account for acceptable variations that may occur, such as those due to engineering tolerances or the like. Like reference numerals refer to like elements throughout.
[0039] Example implementations of the present disclosure are directed to removable automobile mat. The removable automobile mat includes a unique interlocking system that secures a fibrous layer and an additional layer together improve the consumer's ability to conveniently and thoroughly clean the fibrous layer by detaching fibrous layer from the additional layer.
[0040]
[0041] The removable automobile mat assembly 100 may be substantially rectangular, substantially oblong shaped, or substantially elongated with approximately parallel-shaped sides in some example implementations when the lower mat and the upper mat are in an assembled configuration. The removable automobile mat assembly 100 may also be substantially rhomboidal in cross-section, which may lend itself to greater compatibility with a substantially flat floor surface, such as a floor bed of a vehicle. The upper mat 110 and lower mat 120 may include separate, bodies, which may be formed of any of a number of different materials. The body may be formed of any suitable, structurally-sound material. In some examples, the body may be formed of an elastomeric material, rubber press-stud material or a fibrous material or a combination thereof. Suitable fibrous materials include various polymer fibers, natural fibers and the like.
[0042] Various interlocking means may connect the lower mat 120 to the upper mat 110 to result in a threaded engagement, a press-fit engagement, an interference-fit engagement, a magnetic engagement or the like. Examples of interlocking means can include, but are not limited to, press-stud and press-stud receptacle engagement; magnetic engagement, nuts and bolts, and the like.
[0043]
[0044] The lower mat 120 can be formed having a top surface 230, a bottom surface 232, a first side edge 234, a second side edge 236, a third side edge 238, and a fourth side edge 240. The first side edge 234, 636 and third side edge 238, 640 may comprise a lower mat interlocking means 242, as shown in
[0045] The upper mat 110 and the lower mat 120 may include components adapted to facilitate removable engagement therebetween. As illustrated in
[0046] The press-stud receptacle 241 as seen in
[0047] Referring back to
[0048] The top surface 210 of the upper mat 110 may comprise a variety of materials including, for example, a machine washable fiber, a machine washable polymer fiber and washable natural fiber. The top surface of the upper mat 110 may detach from the lower mat 120 to clean in a washing machine. A user may detach the upper mat 110 from the lower mat 120 and place into a washing machine. These features save time and energy, as pressure washing or hosing down the automobile mat will no longer be necessary.
[0049] In some examples, the top surface 230 of the lower mat 120 may comprise a plurality of grooves 247, as shown in
[0050] In some examples, the bottom surface 212 of the upper mat 110 may comprise a semi-flexible material, such as rubber nibbing. In some embodiments, the bottom surface 232 of the lower mat 120 may comprise a flexible, semi-flexible, or rigid material such as for example, rubber, vinyl or thermoplastic and composites thereof.
[0051]
[0052] Additionally, the top surface 512 of the mat may comprise a machine washable fiber wherein the top surface 512 may be readily cleaned utilizing a washing machine. The machine washable fiber may include cotton, DACRON or similar polyethylene terephthalate compositions, polyester, rayon, polyester-cotton or DACRON-polyester combinations, nylon, and the like, or any other suitable machine washable fiber.
[0053]
[0054] The foregoing description of use of the article(s) can be applied to the various example implementations described herein through minor modifications, which can be apparent to the person of skill in the art in light of the further disclosure provided herein. The above description of use, however, is not intended to limit the use of the article but is provided to comply with all necessary requirements of disclosure of the present disclosure. Any of the elements shown in the article(s) illustrated in
[0055] Many modifications and other implementations of the disclosure set forth herein will come to mind to one skilled in the art to which this disclosure pertains having the benefit of the teachings presented in the foregoing descriptions and the associated drawings. Therefore, it is to be understood that the disclosure is not to be limited to the specific implementations disclosed, and that modifications and other implementations are intended to be included within the scope of the appended claims. Moreover, although the foregoing descriptions and the associated drawings describe example implementations in the context of certain example combinations of elements and/or functions, it should be appreciated that different combinations of elements and/or functions may be provided by alternative implementations without departing from the scope of the appended claims. In this regard, for example, different combinations of elements and/or functions than those explicitly described above are also contemplated as may be set forth in some of the appended claims. Although specific terms are employed herein, they are used in a generic and descriptive sense only and not for purposes of limitation.
