    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0016] As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to pipe joints or couplings and more particularly to a leak prevention device to minimize negative environmental impact.

[0017] Generally, the leak prevention device stops a leak from the air conditioning fittings where the Freon is recharged. This replaces the little plastic caps that do not hold pressure at all, and allows the Freon to leak to the environment.

[0018] Referring now more specifically to the drawings by numerals of reference, there is shown in FIGS. 1-5, various views of a device for preventing leaks 100. FIG. 1 shows a device for preventing leaks 100 during an in-use condition 50 by a user 40, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As illustrated, the device for preventing leaks 100 may include a cylindrical body 110, a spring 120, a plurality of ball bearings 130, a plurality of O-rings 140, and a sleeve 150. The cylindrical body 110 may have a top end 111 and a bottom end 112 and a hollow portion 113 which may house the spring 120. The cylindrical body 110 may even further have an inner-lower-portion 114 which may contain the plurality of ball bearings 130 for providing a ratcheting movement between an outer-lower-portion 116 of the cylindrical body 110. The cylindrical body 110 may have an outer-upper-portion-diameter 117 larger than an outer-lower-portion-diameter 118 so that the sleeve 150 may fit around the outer-lower-portion-diameter 118 and may move up the cylindrical body 110 until the sleeve 150 make contact with a hexagonal shape 119 of an outer-upper-portion 115 of the cylindrical body 110.

[0019] FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the device for preventing leaks 100 of FIG. 1, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As above, the device for preventing leaks 100 may include the cylindrical body 110, the spring 120, the plurality of ball bearings 130, the plurality of O-rings 140, and the sleeve 150. The cylindrical body 110 may have an outer-upper-portion 115 that may have the hexagonal shape 119, and may be configured to provide a gripping means. The hollow portion 114 of the cylindrical body 110 may include a plurality of O-rings 140. The plurality of O-rings 140 may include at least 2 O-rings, which may provide a substantially airtight seal. The device for preventing leaks 100 may be designed to prevent leakage from a pressurized valve.
