    Abstract

    An adjustable step ladder system including an adjustable step ladder assembly. The adjustable step ladder assembly includes a front-assembly, a rear-assembly, a top-unit, and a tray-unit in functional and structural combination. The front-assembly includes two front-legs, a plurality of rungs, and two front-feet in functional and structural combination. The rear-assembly includes two upper-legs, a center-section, two lower-legs, and two rear-feet in functional and structural combination. The tray-unit includes a tray, and two tracks in a preferred embodiment. The plurality of rungs are affixed between and to each of the front-legs such that the plurality of rungs provides a user with a secure step to climb the adjustable step ladder assembly.

    Claims

    1. An adjustable step ladder system comprising: an adjustable step ladder assembly comprising; a front-assembly comprising; two front-legs; a plurality of rungs; and two front-feet; a rear-assembly comprising; two upper-legs; a center-section; two lower-legs; and two rear-feet; a top-unit; and a tray-unit comprising; a tray; and two tracks; wherein said adjustable step ladder system comprises said adjustable step ladder assembly; wherein said adjustable step ladder assembly comprises said front-assembly, said rear-assembly, said top-unit, and said tray-unit in functional combination; wherein said front-assembly comprises and is defined by said front-legs, said plurality of rungs, and said front-feet; wherein said rear-assembly comprises and is defined by said upper-legs, said center-section, said lower-legs, and said rear-feet; wherein said tray-unit comprises and is defined by said tray and said tracks; wherein said plurality of rungs are affixed between each of said front-legs to provide a user with a secure step to climb said adjustable step ladder assembly; wherein said front-feet are each adjustably affixed to one of said front-legs; wherein said upper-legs are adjustably affixed to said center-section; wherein said center-section is adjustably affixed to each of said lower-legs; wherein each of said rear-feet are adjustably affixed to said lower-legs; wherein said tray is slidably affixed to, and between, said tracks; wherein said tracks are each affixed to one of said front-legs of said front-assembly and one of said upper-legs of said rear-assembly; wherein said front-assembly and said rear-assembly are hingeldy affixed to said top-unit such that said adjustable step ladder assembly is able to be folded into a position for ease of transport; and wherein said front-assembly, said rear-assembly, said top-unit, and said tray-unit are structured and arranged in combination for providing an highly adjustable device useful for allowing said user to work in a stable and level position elevated from an unlevel surface.

    2. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said front-feet comprise a male-thread and said front-legs comprise a corresponding female-thread such that said front-feet are independently adjustable by twisting said front-feet.

    3. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said rear-feet comprise a male-thread and said lower-legs comprise a corresponding female-thread such that said rear-feet are independently adjustable by twisting said rear-feet.

    4. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said upper-legs are each adjustably affixed to said center-section via removable pins.

    5. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said upper-legs are each adjustably affixed to said center-section via one or more biasers.

    6. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said upper-legs are each adjustably affixed to said center-section via button-springs.

    7. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein of said center-section further comprises cross-bracing to provide additional structural support, both laterally and vertically, to said adjustable step ladder system.

    8. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said center-section is adjustably affixed to said lower-legs via removable pins.

    9. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said center-section is adjustably affixed to said lower-legs via one or more biasers.

    10. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said center-section is adjustably affixed to said lower-legs via button-springs.

    11. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said top unit is coated with an anti-slip material to provide increased traction and safety to said user during use.

    12. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said front-feet and said rear-feet further comprise a rubberized-base to increase traction and improve safety.

    13. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said rungs are coated with an anti-slip material to provide increased traction and safety to said user during use.

    14. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said adjustable step ladder assembly is constructed from an aluminum alloy to be lightweight for carrying.

    15. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said adjustable step ladder assembly is constructed from a steel-alloy to provide longevity and durability.

    16. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 1 wherein said adjustable step ladder assembly is constructed from a fiberglass-material such that said adjustable step ladder assembly is not electrically conductive to provide additional safety for said user.

    17. An adjustable step ladder system comprising: an adjustable step ladder assembly comprising; a front-assembly comprising; two front-legs; a plurality of rungs; and two front-feet; a rear-assembly comprising; two upper-legs; a center-section; two lower-legs; and two rear-feet; a top-unit; and a tray-unit comprising; a tray; and two tracks; wherein said adjustable step ladder system comprises said adjustable step ladder assembly; wherein said adjustable step ladder assembly comprises said front-assembly, said rear-assembly, said top-unit, and said tray-unit in functional combination; wherein said front-assembly comprises and is defined by said front-legs, said plurality of rungs, and said front-feet; wherein said rear-assembly comprises and is defined by said upper-legs, said center-section, said lower-legs, and said rear-feet; wherein said tray-unit comprises and is defined by said tray and said tracks; wherein said plurality of rungs are affixed between each of said front-legs to provide a user with a secure step to climb said adjustable step ladder assembly; wherein said front-feet are each adjustably affixed to one of said front-legs; wherein said upper-legs are adjustably affixed to said center-section; wherein said center-section is adjustably affixed to each of said lower-legs; wherein each of said rear-feet are adjustably affixed to said lower-legs; wherein said tray is slidably affixed to, and between, said tracks; wherein said tracks are each affixed to one of said front-legs of said front-assembly and one of said upper-legs of said rear-assembly; wherein said front assembly and said rear-assembly are hingeldy affixed to said top-unit such that said adjustable step ladder assembly is able to be folded into a position for ease of transport; and wherein said front-assembly, said rear-assembly, said top-unit, and said tray-unit are structured and arranged in combination for providing an highly adjustable device useful for allowing said user to work in a stable and level position elevated from an unlevel surface. wherein said front-feet comprise a male-thread and said front-legs comprise a corresponding female-thread such that said front-feet are independently adjustable by twisting said front-feet. wherein said rear-feet comprise a male-thread and said lower-legs comprise a corresponding female-thread such that said rear-feet are independently adjustable by twisting said rear-feet. wherein said upper-legs are each adjustably affixed to said center-section via button-springs. wherein of said center-section further comprises cross-bracing to provide additional structural support, both laterally and vertically to said adjustable step ladder system. wherein said center-section is adjustably affixed to said lower-legs via button springs. wherein said top-unit is coated with an anti-slip material to provide increased traction and safety to said user during use. wherein said front-feet and said rear-feet further comprise a rubberized-base to increase traction and improve safety. wherein said rungs are coated with an anti-slip material to provide increased traction and safety to said user during use. wherein said adjustable step ladder assembly is constructed from a fiberglass-material such that said adjustable step ladder assembly is not electrically conductive to provide additional safety for said user.

    18. The adjustable step ladder system of claim 17 further comprising a kit including: an adjustable step ladder assembly comprising; a front-assembly; a rear-assembly; a top-unit; and a tray-unit; and a set of user instructions.

A method of using an adjustable step ladder system comprising the steps of: providing an adjustable step ladder system; unfolding said adjustable step ladder system; adjusting two upper-legs of said adjustable step ladder system to a desired position; adjusting a center-section of said adjustable step ladder system to a desired position; adjusting two front-feet and two-rear feet of said adjustable step ladder system to a desired position; placing said front-feet and said rear-feet of said adjustable step ladder system on one or more surfaces; ascending said adjustable step ladder system; performing one or more tasks from said adjustable step ladder system; and descending said adjustable step ladder system.

    20. The method of claim 19 further comprising the steps of: adjusting said upper-legs and said center-section to a minimum position; and folding said adjustable step ladder system for ease of transport and storage.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION

    [0025] As discussed above, embodiments of the present invention relate to a ladder and more particularly to an adjustable step ladder system as used to improve the safety and reliability of step ladders for use on uneven surfaces such as stairs or inclined planes.

    [0026] Generally speaking, adjustable step ladder system comprises an adjustable step ladder assembly, with the adjustable step ladder assembly comprising a front-assembly, a rear-assembly, a top-unit, and a tray-unit in functional and structural combination.

    [0027] Referring to the drawings by numerals of reference there is shown in FIGS. 1-4, adjustable step ladder system 100 may be comprised of and defined by adjustable step ladder assembly 110, where adjustable step ladder assembly 110 may be comprised of (and defined by) front-assembly 114, rear-assembly 124, top-unit 134, and tray-unit 135.
