    Description

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

    [0007] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a shirt bra according to an embodiment of the present invention;

    [0008] FIG. 2 is a front elevation view thereof; and

    [0009] FIG. 3 is a rear elevation view thereof.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

    [0010] The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

    [0011] Broadly, one embodiment of the present invention is a bra shirt, reconfiguring the bra to have top straps attached from the front of the bra and looping under the arm to meet in the upper back part of the shirt.

    [0012] In some embodiments, the bra shirt has a cup panel that may be formed as one piece or may be two cups joined at a center point.

    [0013] In other embodiments, cups are absent from the bra shirt. In these embodiments, the underband and back straps provide structure to the garment fabric so that the wearer's breasts are supported.

    [0014] The bra shirt of the present subject matter may be manufactured by producing a shirt and the bra components, including bra straps attached to each side of bra cups, and sewing the bra components to the inside of the shirt to hold everything together, lending firmness to the garment. The straps may be attached to the back of the shirt, extending up to the upper middle part of the back, where the straps may be joined.

    [0015] The bra shirt may be donned in the same way as a prior art shirt.

    [0016] Referring to FIGS. 1 through 3, a shirt 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown worn by a user 18. The shirt 10 has an interior bra stitched thereto, including an underband 14 below a cup panel 12 and extending to form wings under the user's arms 20 and encircling the user's 18 torso. Top straps 16 extend from the bottom strap 14 wings at each side of the shirt and rising to join at the center back of the shirt neck. The cup panel 12 may have two cups meeting at the center of the user's 18 chest, as shown in FIG. 1. Alternatively, the cup panel 12 may be one piece with a ribbon bow shape, narrowing at the center of the user's 18 chest, as seen in FIG. 2. As FIG. 3 illustrates, the underband 14 and top straps 16 form a D shape across the user's 18 back.

    [0017] It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
