Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for a vehicle sticker placard device that includes multiple spaces to store inspection stickers, toll cards, parking cards or stickers, etc. Moreover, there is a long-felt need in the art for a device that eliminates the need to scrape the window with a blade to remove stickers if a windshield replacement is required. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for a vehicle sticker placard device that is manufactured of plastic. Finally, there is a long-felt need in the art for a vehicle sticker placard device that allows users to insert and remove vehicle stickers and cards with case.
[0034] The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is a novel vehicle sticker placard device. The vehicle sticker placard device comprises a body component that is configured in a rectangular shape with several individual compartments to house city, state, toll, parking, and other stickers or identification cards. Each compartment is covered with a thin plastic sheet to create a pocket for displaying the cards or stickers. Each pocket comprises an open top, to allow users to easily interchange stickers/cards, as needed. The body component is removable and secures to a vehicle window with adhesive. Thus, users can place the device on their vehicle windshield and display appropriate stickers with ease. The present invention also includes a novel method of displaying multiple vehicle stickers and cards on a vehicle windshield. The method includes the steps of providing a vehicle sticker placard device comprising a body component with multiple pockets for displaying vehicle stickers and cards. The method also comprises inserting vehicle stickers and cards into the pockets to be displayed. Further, the method comprises securing the body component via adhesive to the interior of a vehicle windshield. Finally, the method comprises interchanging the vehicle stickers and cards, as needed.
[0035] Referring initially to the drawings,
[0036] Generally, the vehicle sticker placard device 100 contemplates a vehicle registration sticker, inspection sticker, certificate, license, parking sticker, and/or photograph display holder, etc., into which the stickers, certificates, licenses, cards, and/or photographs 108 may be inserted. Further, the vehicle sticker placard device 100 is used to removably display a number of different stickers, certificates, registration stickers, inspection stickers, parking stickers, certificates, licenses, and/or photographs, etc., 108, at one time.
[0037] Further, the vehicle sticker placard device 100 comprises a body component 102 of minimal thickness and an elongated rectangular configuration, with top and bottom elongated edges 114 extending generally parallel along the length thereof and with opposite end edges 116 extending transverse to the length thereof. The body component 102 also comprises a front surface 118 that faces out the vehicle windshield 110 and a rear surface 120 that faces the interior of the vehicle 122. Further, the body component 102 comprises a semi-rigid flat sheet of plastic material having multiple individual compartments 104 to display a registration sticker, inspection sticker, certificate, license, and/or photograph, etc., 108.
[0038] Additionally, the body component 102 comprises an adhesive coating layer 124 made of an impermanent adhesive material affixed to a front surface 118 of the body component 102, which allows the body component 102 to be repeatedly attached to one surface, removed, and attached to another surface without damaging the body component 102 or the surface to which the body component 102 is attached. The use of an impermanent adhesive allows the user 112 to use the body component 102 in multiple locations over a period of time. Further, because an impermanent adhesive will not damage the surface to which it is mounted, a user 112 is provided with significant flexibility as to the types of surfaces to which the body component 102 may be attached. Typically, the body component 102 is secured to an interior of the vehicle windshield 110.
[0039] Furthermore, the adhesive coating layer 124 is made of a flexible material, such that the body component 102 can be releasably secured to the interior of the vehicle window 110. The adhesive layer 124 may be approximately ? inch thick and it is coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. For packing and shipping, the adhesive layer 124 may be protected by a conventional peel-off covering 126. The peel-off covering 126 is peeled off and discarded to expose the adhesive layer 124, in order to adhere the device 100 to a supporting surface. Further, the adhesive coating layer 124 is an optically clear layer that is manufactured of transparent material to easily display the vehicle stickers and cards 108.
[0040] As shown in
[0041] Further, the body component 102 can comprise any suitable number of pockets 106. Further, the device 100 can be manufactured in different sizes, with a different number of pockets 106, depending on the needs and/or wants of a user 112. The pockets 106 can be any suitable size and shape as is known in the art, as long as they act to retain a vehicle sticker or card 108. Further, the body component 102 can comprise pockets 106 of varying size and width, depending on the needs and/or wants of a user 112.
[0042] In yet another embodiment, the vehicle sticker placard device 100 comprises a plurality of indicia 138. The body component 102 of the device 100 may include advertising, a trademark, or other letters, designs, or characters, printed, painted, stamped, or integrated into the body component 102, or any other indicia 138 as is known in the art. Specifically, any suitable indicia 138 as is known in the art can be included, such as, but not limited to, patterns, logos, emblems, images, symbols, designs, letters, words, characters, animals, advertisements, brands, etc., that may or may not be vehicle, vehicle stickers or cards, or brand related.
[0043] As shown in
[0044] Further, the vehicle sticker placard device 100 can be configured in a horizontal 140 or vertical 142 configuration, depending on the needs and/or wants of a user 112. Specifically, the individual compartments 104 of the body component 102 can be arranged horizontally, in a linear line with the plurality of pockets 106 positioned side-by-side. In another embodiment, the individual compartments 104 of the body component 102 can be arranged vertically, such that the plurality of pockets 106 are positioned in a linear line with pockets 106 positioned above and below each other. Specifically, the plurality of pockets 106 are positioned, such that the bottom 128 of each pocket 106 contacts a top 130 of the pocket 106 below it. The horizontal 140 and vertical 142 configurations allow the users 112 to display the vehicles stickers and/or cards 108 within the body component 102 at particular locations on the interior of the vehicle windshield 110, as prescribed by the pertinent authorities, or issuers of the decals, stickers, or cards 108, as the case may be.
[0045] In use, the protective covering 126 is peeled off the adhesive coating layer 124, and the body component 102 is pressed against the inside face of the car windshield 110. By virtue of the flexibility in the body component 102 and the flexible adhesive coating layer 124, the body component 102 will readily accommodate itself to any curvature in the windshield 110. When the driver is in the vehicle 122, he/she will insert various vehicle registration cards and/or stickers 108, which he/she may carry in his/her wallet, into the pockets 106 of the body component 102 where they will be prominently displayed. Whenever the user 112 leaves the vehicle 122, he/she can remove the vehicle cards and/or stickers 108 and return them to his/her wallet, if needed, otherwise the vehicle cards and/or stickers 108 can remain in the pockets 106 of the body component 102 of the device 100.
