Abstract
A sleeve-pole engagement system for releasably securing a pole to a user having an arm including a bicep, an elbow, a forearm, and a wrist. The system may comprise an elongated sleeve, at least one engagement member, and at least one cuff. The elongated sleeve may include a sleeve body having a longitudinal axis extending between a proximal end and a distal end of the elongated sleeve. A proximal engagement member may be configured to be positioned about the elongated sleeve and the pole. A distal engagement member configured to be positioned about the elongated sleeve and the pole. The elongated sleeve may include cuffs at its proximal and distal ends.
Claims
1. A sleeve-pole engagement system for releasably securing a pole to a user, the user having an arm including a bicep, an elbow, a forearm, and a wrist, the system comprising: an elongated sleeve having a sleeve body having a longitudinal axis extending between a proximal end and a distal end of the elongated sleeve, the distal end being adapted to extend about the wrist, and the proximal end being adapted to extend about the bicep; a proximal engagement member configured to be positioned near the elbow, and about the elongated sleeve and the pole, to secure the pole relative to the elbow; a distal engagement member configured to be positioned near at least one of the forearm or the wrist, and about the elongated sleeve and the pole, to secure the pole relative to at least one of the forearm or the wrist; and cuffs configured to be positioned near at least one of the wrist or the bicep of the user.
2. The system of claim 1, wherein the proximal engagement member includes an inner proximal fastening member and an outer proximal fastening member.
3. The system of claim 1, wherein the distal engagement member includes an inner distal fastening member and an outer distal fastening member.

The system of claim 1, wherein at least one of the proximal engagement member and the distal engagement member includes a fastening member, and the elongated sleeve includes a first longitudinal loop and a second longitudinal loop configured to restrain at least one of the proximal engagement member and the distal engagement member relative to the longitudinal axis.
5. The system of claim 1, wherein the cuffs include a proximal cuff at the proximal end of the elongated sleeve and a distal cuff at the distal end of the elongated sleeve.

The system of claim 1, further comprising a proximal buckle and a distal buckle, wherein the proximal engagement member includes a proximal fastening member, the distal engagement member includes a distal fastening member, the proximal buckle is configured to maintain tension of the proximal fastening member about the elongated sleeve, and the distal buckle is configured to maintain tension of the distal fastening member about the elongated sleeve.
7. The system of claim 1, further comprising an indicator strip extending between the proximal and distal ends of the elongated sleeve.
8. A method of a sleeve-pole engagement system for releasably securing a pole to a user, the method comprising: providing an elongated sleeve, a proximal engagement member, a distal engagement member, and cuffs; positioning the elongated sleeve to extend between a wrist and a bicep of the user, with cuffs at each end; positioning the proximal engagement member near an elbow of the user, and about the elongated sleeve and the pole, to secure the pole relative to the elbow; and positioning the distal engagement member near a forearm or wrist of the user, and about the elongated sleeve and the pole, to secure the pole relative to the forearm or wrist.
9. The method of claim 8, wherein the proximal engagement member includes an inner proximal fastening member and an outer proximal fastening member.
10. The method of claim 8, wherein the distal engagement member includes an inner distal fastening member and an outer distal fastening member.
11. The method of claim 8, wherein at least one of the proximal engagement member and the distal engagement member includes a fastening member, and the elongated sleeve includes a first longitudinal loop and a second longitudinal loop configured to restrain at least one of the proximal engagement member and the distal engagement member relative to the longitudinal axis.
12. The method of claim 8, wherein the cuffs include a proximal cuff at the proximal end of the elongated sleeve and a distal cuff at the distal end of the elongated sleeve.
13. The method of claim 8, further comprising a proximal buckle and a distal buckle, wherein the proximal engagement member includes a proximal fastening member, the distal engagement member includes a distal fastening member, the proximal buckle is configured to maintain tension of the proximal fastening member about the elongated sleeve, and the distal buckle is configured to maintain tension of the distal fastening member about the elongated sleeve.
14. The method of claim 8, further comprising an indicator strip extending between the proximal and distal ends of the elongated sleeve.
15. A sleeve-pole engagement system for releasably securing a pole to a user, the user having an arm including a bicep, an elbow, a forearm, and a wrist, the system comprising: an elongated sleeve having a sleeve body having a longitudinal axis extending between a proximal end and a distal end of the elongated sleeve; a proximal engagement member configured to be positioned about the elongated sleeve and the pole; a distal engagement member configured to be positioned about the elongated sleeve and the pole; and cuffs at the proximal and distal ends of the elongated sleeve.
16. The system of claim 15, wherein the proximal engagement member includes an inner proximal fastening member and an outer proximal fastening member.
17. The system of claim 15, wherein the distal engagement member includes an inner distal fastening member and an outer distal fastening member.

The system of claim 15, wherein at least one of the proximal engagement member and the distal engagement member includes a fastening member, and the elongated sleeve includes a first longitudinal loop and a second longitudinal loop configured to restrain at least one of the proximal engagement member and the distal engagement member relative to the longitudinal axis.
19. The system of claim 15, wherein the cuffs include a proximal cuff at the proximal end of the elongated sleeve and a distal cuff at the distal end of the elongated sleeve.

The system of claim 15, further comprising a proximal buckle and a distal buckle, wherein the proximal engagement member includes a proximal fastening member, the distal engagement member includes a distal fastening member, the proximal buckle is configured to maintain tension of the proximal fastening member about the elongated sleeve, and the distal buckle is configured to maintain tension of the distal fastening member about the elongated sleeve.
