Hat

Abstract

A hat comprises a crown, a brim extending outward from an edge of the crown, and a first transparent liquid-proof layer disposed over the crown or the brim. The first transparent liquid-proof layer and the crown, or the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the brim, define an enclosed space containing a liquid and decorations. By forming the enclosed space that allows a user to see through it on the hat and disposing the liquid and the decorations into the enclosed space, the hat may present special visual effects different from that presented by conventional hats.

Claims

1. A hat comprising a crown, a brim extending outward from an edge of the crown, and a first transparent liquid-proof layer disposed over the crown or the brim, wherein the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the crown, or the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the brim, define an enclosed space containing a liquid and decorations.

2. The hat of claim 1 further comprising a second transparent liquid-proof layer disposed between the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the crown, or between the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the brim, wherein the second transparent liquid-proof layer and the first transparent liquid-proof layer define the enclosed space.

3. The hat of claim 1, wherein the liquid comprises water or glycerol.

4. The hat of claim 1, wherein the decorations comprise sequins, glitters, beads, or luminescent decorations.

5. A hat comprising a crown and a first transparent liquid-proof layer disposed over the crown, wherein the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the crown define an enclosed space containing a liquid and decorations.

6. The hat of claim 5 further comprising a second transparent liquid-proof layer disposed between the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the crown, wherein the second transparent liquid-proof layer and the first transparent liquid-proof layer define the enclosed space.

7. The hat of claim 5, wherein the liquid comprises water or glycerol.

8. The hat of claim 5, wherein the decorations comprise sequins, glitters, beads, or luminescent decorations.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0021] Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, there are respectively shown a perspective view and a cross-sectional side view of a hat 1 according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The hat 1 comprises a crown 10, a brim 20, and a first transparent liquid-proof layer 30. The brim 20 extends outward from a front edge of the crown 10. The first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 is disposed over a front surface of the crown 10. The first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 and the crown 10 define an enclosed space 40. The enclosed space 40 contains a liquid 50 (represented in dots) and decorations 60.

[0022] By forming the enclosed space 40 that allows a user to see through it on the hat 1 and disposing the liquid 50 and the decorations 60 into the enclosed space 40, the hat 1 may present special visual effects different from that presented by conventional hats.

[0023] In an embodiment, the liquid 50 is water, and the first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 is made of transparent water-proof material; in another embodiment, the liquid 50 is glycerol or other kind of liquid. In an embodiment, a portion of the front surface of the crown 10 corresponding to the enclosed space 40 is made of transparent liquid-proof material such as transparent water-proof material. In an embodiment, the enclosed space may be disposed on any other portion of the crown 10. In an embodiment, the crown 10 may use a net structure in the portion that is not covered by the enclosed space to increase air permeability. In an embodiment, the front surface of the crown 10 further has a badge, logotype, or wordmark attached thereto by applique or ironing-on, so a user may see through the first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 to see not only the liquid 50 and the decorations 60 but also the badge, logotype, or wordmark.

[0024] In an embodiment, the decorations 60 comprise sequins, glitters, beads, other kind of decoration that may reflect light, or any combination thereof, capable of presenting amazing visual effects under circumstances with lighting. The decorations 60 may further comprise luminescent decorations that may be made of, for example, phosphorescent material, capable of presenting flowing light visual effects under circumstances without lighting. The decorations 60 may be plate-like or solid decorations formed in stars, balls, ships, fishes, other kinds of shapes, or any combination thereof.

[0025] Referring to FIG. 3, there is shown a cross-sectional side view of a hat 2 according to a second embodiment of the present invention. Compared to the hat 1 as shown in FIG. 2, the hat 2 further comprises a second transparent liquid-proof layer 32 disposed between the first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 and the crown 10. The second transparent liquid-proof layer 32 and the first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 define the enclosed space 40 containing the liquid 50 and the decorations 60. In the embodiment, the first transparent liquid-proof layer 32 is disposed close to the front surface of the crown 10.

In this and the following top-view drawings, the enclosed space 40 that allows a user to see through it is represented in grids, and the first transparent liquid-proof layer 30, the liquid 50 and the decorations 60 are omitted. In the embodiment, the enclosed space 40 is formed by disposing the first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 over the front surface of the crown 10, so that the first transparent liquid-proof layer 30 and the crown 10 define the enclosed space 40 containing the liquid 50 and the decorations 60.

Compared to the hat 1 as shown in FIG. 4, the enclosed space 40 of the hat 3 is formed on the brim 20. In an embodiment, as similar to FIG. 2, the enclosed space 40 of the hat 3 is formed by disposing the first transparent liquid-proof layer over the brim 20, so that the first transparent liquid-proof layer and the brim 20 define the enclosed space 40. [0031] The aforementioned embodiments use specific types of hats. As shown in FIGS. 1-6, the hats 1-4 are similar to baseball caps. As shown in FIG. 7, the hat 5 is similar to a brimless cap. As shown in FIG. 8, the hat 6 is similar to a cartwheel hat. However, these embodiments are not intended to be limited to the present invention. For example, the present invention may be applied to other types of hats, such as fedora hats or bucket hats.
