MATTRESS WITH ADJUSTABLE HARDNESS AND COMFORT LEVELS

Abstract

A mattress with adjustable hardness and comfort levels includes a surface cover layer, a first comfort layer, a second comfort layer and a hollow space made of foam at the bottom. This mattress also provides the flexibility for consumers to change the first and second comfort layers in the mattress to achieve the most appropriate hardness level according to his body profile independently for the users on the left and right sides of the mattress. Thus, consumers may change the hardness and comfort levels of their mattress easily by changing the comfort layers according to their desires anytime.

Claims

1. A mattress having an adjustable hardness level, comprising: a surface cover layer, a first comfort layer, a second comfort layer, and a hollow frame, the first and second comfort layers being sized and shaped to be positioned inside the hollow frame, and the surface cover layer being sized and shaped to be positioned on top of the hollow frame and is adapted to be at least opened partially by a user; wherein the first comfort layer and the second comfort layer have different hardness properties such that when the first and second comfort layers are inverted, a different level of hardness and comfort of the mattress is created.

2. The mattress according to claim 1, wherein each of the first and second comfort layers are made of one or more materials selected from the group consisting of foam, latex, synthetic fibers, natural fibers, gel and spring materials.

The mattress according to claim 1, wherein the surface cover layer and the hollow frame are sized and shaped to create two sides of the mattress, wherein each side is sized and shaped to accommodate a user lying thereon and each side is configured to have an independent level of hardness and comfort, such that the level of hardness and comfort of one side of the mattress can be changed without affecting the level of hardness and comfort of the other side of the mattress.

4. The mattress according to claim 1, wherein each of the first and second comfort layers include a buffer layer having a plurality of springs.

5. The mattress according to claim 1, wherein the surface cover layer can be released partially or entirely.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

[0016] Referring to FIG. 1, a mattress 10 is shown with a hardness level that can be adjusted by a user in a position already arranged and closed by a surface cover layer 12.

[0017] Referring to FIG. 2, the structure of the mattress 10 is shown, wherein layers of the mattress 10 having hardness levels can be adjusted by the user in the open position. The mattress includes a hollow frame 14 made of foam. The hollow frame 14 is filled with a first comfort layer 16 and a second comfort layer 18 where the placements of layers are interchangeable and may be reversed. The comfort layers 16, may have different levels of hardness, thus, when the arrangement is changed and their surfaces are reversed, it will produce a different overall hardness and comfort level.

[0018] Referring to FIG. 3, a large mattress 20 is shown (for example, the mattress size is 2 meters2 meters) when used for two people. Each of the left and right sides of the mattress 20 has its own surface cover layer 22, first comfort layer 26 and second comfort layer 28, allowing the hardness and comfort levels on each side to be different. The surface cover layer 22 is a layer or cover panel of mattress surface used by the user and it can be opened partially or entirely thus the user can take and arrange the comfort layers (B) and (C).
