ATTACHABLE/DETACHABLE HAIRBRUSH TOP HAVING A COMPRESSIBLE HANDLE

Abstract

An improved hairbrush handle top for attachment/detachment to the top of any hairbrush for ease of use when a user brushes their hair is disclosed. In accordance with the present invention the attachable/detachable hairbrush handle top uses a compressible top portion which may be a geometrically shaped handle located at the top of any base configuration and in one embodiment may be an elliptically shaped base. The combination of a compressible hairbrush handle top attached to a hairbrush is intended for better brushing a user's hair by allowing the user to have the hairbrush bristles contact a larger region of the user's scalp and hair roots.

Claims

1. A hairbrush top, comprising: A compressible top portion; a planar bottom portion defining a planar top mounting area and an attachable/detachable planar bottom portion wherein said compressible top portion is permanently affixed to said planar top mounting area whereby said attachable/detachable planar bottom portion is attached/detached to a top area of a hairbrush.

2. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is in the shape of a sports ball.

3. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is fabricated using compressible foam.

4. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is fabricated using squeezable rubber.

5. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is spherical in shape.

6. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is a baseball.

7. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is prolate spheriod in shape.

8. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is a football.

9. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is square shaped.

10. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is rectangularly shaped.

11. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is oval shaped.

12. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion is elliptically shaped.

13. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said attachable/detachable planar bottom defines a hook-and-loop fastener surface.

14. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said attachable/detachable planar bottom defines a sticky back tape surface.

15. A hairbrush top for attaching/detaching to a top area of a hairbrush, comprising: A compressible top portion in a shape of a sports ball; a planar bottom portion defining a planar top mounting area and an attachable/detachable planar bottom portion wherein said compressible top portion is permanently affixed to said planar top mounting area wherein said attachable/detachable planar bottom portion is attached/detached to the top area sized to said planar top mounting area of the hairbrush top.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0017] Referring now to FIG. 1 there is shown and illustrated a perspective view of a hairbrush top 10 in accordance with the present invention. The hairbrush top 10 defines a compressible top portion 12 and a planar bottom portion defining a planar top mounting area 14 and an attachable/detachable planar bottom portion 16 wherein said compressible top portion 12 is permanently affixed to said planar top mounting area 14. In one preferred embodiment, the compressible top portion 12 is in the shape of a sports ball as shown in FIG. 1. The hairbrush top according to claim 1 wherein said compressible top portion 12 may be fabricated using compressible foam or a squeezable rubber. Referring to FIG. 2 there is shown and illustrated a side view of a prior art bristle hairbrush 20 having a hairbrush base 22 defining a top planar surface 26 wherein the hairbrush base 22 defines a plurality of bristles 24 connected to the bottom of the hairbrush base 22 pointing in a downward direction.

[0018] Turning once again to FIG. 1, the hairbrush top's compressible top portion 12 is spherical in shape and is shown by way of example but not of limitation a baseball 12. It should be understood that the compressible top portion 12 may be any geometric shape such as square shaped, rectangularly shaped, elliptically shaped or oval shaped. Referring now to FIG. 3, The hairbrush top 10 further defines a planar bottom 16 defining an attachable/detachable surface 18 which by way of example but not of limitation may be a hook-and-loop fastener surface (VELCRO) or a sticky back tape surface.

[0019] Referring now to FIG. 4 there is shown the hairbrush top 10 attached to the prior art bristle hairbrush 20. More specifically, the planar bottom portion 16 is attached 32 to the planar top mounting area 26 thereby permanently affixing the planar top mounting area 14 wherein said attachable/detachable planar bottom portion is attached/detached to the top area 26 of the hairbrush 20. It should be understood that the planar bottom portion 16 may be sized to mate with any sized top mounting area 14 of any hairbrush top in accordance with the present invention.

[0020] Referring now to FIGS. 1 through 4, there are shown various embodiments for a hairbrush handle apparatus in accordance with the present invention. More specifically, as shown in FIG. 1, the hairbrush handle apparatus provides an improved hairbrush handle for ease of use when a user brushes their hair. In accordance with the present invention the hairbrush handle apparatus uses a spherically shaped handle located at the top of an elliptically shaped base having a plurality of bristles connected to the bottom of the elliptical shaped base pointing in a downward direction. The hairbrush handle apparatus is a method for better brushing a user's hair by allowing the user to have the hairbrush bristles contact a larger region of the user's scalp and hair roots by providing a better handle gripping surface.

[0021] Referring once again to FIG. 1, the centrally located handle top portion 12 may be spherical in shape representing a baseball and although not shown should be understood to be any spherically shaped sports ball such as a soccer ball, golf ball or basketball by way of example but not of limitation. Additionally, the centrally located handle top 33 may be a prolate spheriod in the shape of a football 11 as shown in FIG. 5. It is yet another aspect of the present invention that the centrally located brush handle to be compressible made of foam or a foamlike material which is soft to the user's touch and for ease of gripping and squeezing the brush handle.
