Abstract
A hair stretching assembly includes a board, a root clip, and an end clip. The assembly is configured to permit the stretching of hair. Hair may be secured either pre stretching or post stretching through one of the clips. A comb may be used to pass through the hair and apply a tension force. The root clip and end clip are configured to nest within each other to allow multiple hair stretching assemblies to line up end to end. The end clip may be translated along the length of the board to adjust to the length of the hair. And aerated clip may be used to permit an increase of airflow through the hair.

It should be understood, however, that the description herein of specific embodiments is not intended to limit the application to the particular embodiment disclosed, but on the contrary, the intention is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the spirit and scope of the process of the present application as defined by the appended claims.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0018] Illustrative embodiments of the preferred embodiment are described below. In the interest of clarity, not all features of an actual implementation are described in this specification. It will of course be appreciated that in the development of any such actual embodiment, numerous implementation-specific decisions must be made to achieve the developer's specific goals, such as compliance with system-related and business-related constraints, which will vary from one implementation to another. Moreover, it will be appreciated that such a development effort might be complex and time-consuming but would nevertheless be a routine undertaking for those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of this disclosure.
[0019] In the specification, reference may be made to the spatial relationships between various components and to the spatial orientation of various aspects of components as the devices are depicted in the attached drawings. However, as will be recognized by those skilled in the art after a complete reading of the present application, the devices, members, apparatuses, etc. described herein may be positioned in any desired orientation. Thus, the use of terms to describe a spatial relationship between various components or to describe the spatial orientation of aspects of such components should be understood to describe a relative relationship between the components or a spatial orientation of aspects of such components, respectively, as the embodiments described herein may be oriented in any desired direction.
[0020] The embodiments and method in accordance with the present application overcomes one or more of the above-discussed problems commonly associated with the prior art discussed previously. In particular, the hair stretching assembly of the present application includes a plurality of clips releasably interchangeable with one of a board and a plate for the purpose of stretching hair. The assembly is configured to allow a user to lay a portion of hair across the board or plate and selectively secure it in position with the one or more clips. The act of securing may be done prior to or after a stretching force is applied to the hair. This allows the hair to be secured either prior to or while under tension. These and other unique features are discussed below and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
[0021] The embodiments and method will be understood, both as to its structure and operation, from the accompanying drawings, taken in conjunction with the accompanying description. Several embodiments of the assembly may be presented herein. It should be understood that various components, parts, and features of the different embodiments may be combined together and/or interchanged with one another, all of which are within the scope of the present application, even though not all variations and particular embodiments are shown in the drawings. It should also be understood that the mixing and matching of features, elements, and/or functions between various embodiments is expressly contemplated herein so that one of ordinary skill in the art would appreciate from this disclosure that the features, elements, and/or functions of one embodiment may be incorporated into another embodiment as appropriate, unless otherwise described.
[0022] Referring now to the Figures wherein like reference characters identify corresponding or similar elements in form and function throughout the several views. The following Figures describe embodiments of the present application and its associated features. With reference now to the Figures, embodiments of the present application are herein described. It should be noted that the articles a, an, and the, as used in this specification, include plural referents unless the content clearly dictates otherwise.
[0023] The hair stretching assembly of the present application is configured to provide equipment necessary for a user to elongate or stretch hair from the scalp of one's head. The assembly includes a plurality of clips, plates, a board, and a comb. The method of operation for each will be described herein.
[0024] Referring now to
[0025] Referring now to
[0026] It is understood that all clips 103a and 103b should be able to connect to one another so as to extend for longer length hair as needed. The outer surface of clips 103a and 103b permit the clips to seat within each other along their sides. In instances where hair is longer than board 105, a user may stack or sequentially align multiple boards 105 end to end. As clip 103a is coupled to an end of board 105, it's outer face is permitted to seat within the outer face of end clip 103b. This nesting or seating effect permits board 105 to theoretically be any length required so as to match the length of the hair. Where multiple boards are used in a linear manner, clip 103B from a first board (for example) will abut or nest adjacent to the root clip 103a of an adjacent board 105.
[0027] As seen in

[0030] Referring now to
[0031] Referring now also to
[0032] It should be noted that comb 119 will be attachable and detachable with other portions of assembly 101. For example comb 119 may selectively attach to any of board 105, plate 115 and end clip 103b. An advantage of using comb 119 with plate 115 is that comb 119 will be able to translate down and get deeper penetration within the hair to increase stretch and also produce straighter results than would be seen with board 105. Comb 119 resembles a conventional comb or detangle brush and may operate similarly. Comb 119 is configured with gentle edges so as to remove the danger of damaging the hair. Comb 119 may include a plurality of teeth 121 as well as end members 123. End members 123 may act similarly to that of teeth 121 but maybe thicker in nature to provide additional strength and rigidity such as contacting a surface of plate 115 or board 105 and/or coupling to clip 103b, board 105, or plate 115. It is understood that the width of the teeth 121 may be proportionally sized greater than or less than that shown in
[0033] Referring now also to
[0034] Clip 125 includes two opposing members 128 of similar form and length. These are configured to sandwich the hair onto any of board 105 and plate 115. One or more attachment members 129 are configured to secure or clamp two opposing members 128 together. Clip 125 is adjustable along the length of the board or plate similar to clip 103b. Apertures 127 allow hair to dry quicker. The hair and board or plate are sandwiched together between opposing members 128. It is understood that the two opposing members 128 may include different surface treatments so as to not be identical in some configurations.
[0035] It is understood that as hair stretching assembly 101 may include one or more plates and or boards in combination with root clips and end clips along with a comb. The length of the boards and plates are selectively tailored to coincide with common lengths of hair. They may be sold in different lengths to accommodate different hairstyles. Assembly 101 may include multiple plates and or boards of differing lengths to form a more thorough or complete set within assembly 101.
[0036] In operation a user selects a board or plate of preference and locates it adjacent to the scalp. The user locates the board or plate of choice and lays a quantity of hair across its surface. The user selectively secures that hair along the board or plate with at least one of a root clip and/or end clip. The comb may be used to stretch the hair between the clips so that it is elongated. The advantages of slots or apertures in communication with the hair may further assist in drying the hair and/or allowing a longer or deeper stretch. The user may use end clip 103b and/or aerated clip 125 to secure the hair post stretch so that the hair can linger in a tensioned state for a period of time without the user having to hold it in tension. As noted previously, comb 119 may be used to attach to the board and/or plate.
[0037] The clips or comb are removed when stretching is complete. The clips may be reapplied along the length of the hair as needed so as to lengthen a full strand of hair. Clips may be nestled within one another to lengthen the working surface provided by the board and or plate. The user may sequentially align multiple boards or plates so as to adapt to the length of hair being treated.
[0038] The particular embodiments disclosed above are illustrative only, as the application may be modified and practiced in different but equivalent manners apparent to those skilled in the art having the benefit of the teachings herein. It is therefore evident that the particular embodiments disclosed above may be altered or modified, and all such variations are considered within the scope and spirit of the application. Accordingly, the protection sought herein is as set forth in the description. It is apparent that an application with significant advantages has been described and illustrated. Although the present application is shown in a limited number of forms, it is not limited to just these forms, but is amenable to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof.
