Adjustable Children's Clothing

Abstract

An article of clothing in the form of trousers having a pair of trouser legs, each of the trouser legs comprising an upper section, a lower section and at least one additional section, each section provided with fastening means integrated along the edges to removably attach each section to another section. The pair of trousers has an original first length when the upper section is removably attached to the lower section and can be extended by removably attaching the additional section to the upper section and the lower section. The pair of trousers can be extended further by attaching a second additional section to the other sections.

Claims

1. A pair of trousers comprising a pair of trouser legs, each of said pair of trouser legs comprising an upper section having a lower edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, a lower portion having an upper edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, and an additional section having an upper edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein and a lower edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, wherein said lower edge of said upper section is removably attached to said upper edge of said lower section by said fastening means to create a pair of trousers having an original first length and wherein the length of said pair of trousers can be extended to a second length when said lower edge of said upper section is removably attached to said upper edge of said additional section by said fastening means and said lower edge of said additional section is removably attached to said upper edge of said lower section by said fastening means.

2. The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 1, wherein said fastening means is selected from the group consisting of a zipper fastening means, a hook and loop fastening means, a snapping fastening means, and a button fastening means.

3. The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 2, wherein said fastening means is a zipper fastening means.

4. The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 2, wherein said fastening means is a hook and loop fastening means.

5. The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 1, wherein further comprising a second additional section, said second additional section having an upper edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein and a lower edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein.

The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 5, wherein the length of said pair of trousers can be extended to a third length when said lower edge of said upper section is removably attached to said upper edge of said additional section by said fastening means and said lower edge of said additional section is removably attached to said upper edge of said second additional section by said fastening means, and said lower edge of said of said second additional section is removably attached to said upper edge of said lower section by said fastening means.

A pair of trousers comprising a pair of trouser legs, each of said pair of trouser legs comprising an upper section having a lower edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, a lower portion having an upper edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, and at least one additional section, each of said at least one additional section having an upper edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein and a lower edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, wherein said lower edge of said upper section is removably attached to said upper edge of said lower section by said fastening means to create a pair of trousers having an original first length and wherein the length of said pair of trousers can be extended to a second length when said lower edge of said upper section is removably attached to said upper edge of a first additional section of said at least one additional section by said fastening means and said lower edge of said first additional section is removably attached to said upper edge of said lower section by said fastening means.

8. The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 7, wherein said fastening means is selected from the group consisting of a zipper fastening means, a hook and loop fastening means, a snapping fastening means, and a button fastening means.

9. The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 8, wherein said fastening means is a zipper fastening means.

10. The pair of trousers in accordance with claim 8, wherein said fastening means is a hook and loop fastening means.

11. The pair of trousers in accordance claim 7, wherein said at least one additional section is a first additional section and a second additional section, and wherein the length of said pair of trousers can be extended to a third length when said lower edge of said upper section is removably attached to said upper edge of said first additional section by said fastening means and said lower edge of said first additional section is removably attached to said upper edge of said second additional section by said fastening means, and said lower edge of said of said second additional section is removably attached to said upper edge of said lower section by said fastening means.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0024] The present subject matter relates to an article of clothing in the form of trousers having a pair of trouser legs, each of the trouser legs comprising an upper section having a lower edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, a lower section having an upper edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein, and at least one additional section having an upper edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein and a lower edge provided with a fastening means integrated therein. When it is desired to increase the length of each trouser leg, the at least one additional section is removably attached to the upper section and to the lower section of each of the pair of trouser legs. When it is desired to return the pair of trousers to its original length, the additional section is detached from the upper section and from the lower section of each of the pair of trouser legs. The fastening means can be any fastening means which can be easily opened and closed, suitable examples of which include, but are not limited to, a zipper, a hook and loop fastener such as Velcro, snaps, and buttons.

[0025] As shown if the Figures, a pair of trousers 100 of the present subject matter is shown having a pair of trouser legs, each trouser leg comprising an upper section 110, a lower section 120 and an additional section 130. Each of the sections is provided with a fastening means integrated along its edges such that the sections can be removably attached. When the upper section 110 is removably attached to the lower section 120, a pair of trousers is created having a predetermined length. When it is desired to extend the length of the pair of trousers, the additional section 130 is removably attached to the upper section 110 by the fastening means and is removably attached to the lower section 120, the additional section being disposed between the upper and lower sections. Of course, the user can wear the upper section 110 as a pair of shorts when the upper section is not removably secured to the other sections. The length of the shorts also can be extended by removably securing the upper section 110 to the additional section 130.

[0026] Referring now to FIG. 1, the pair of trousers 100 is depicted having a pair of trouser legs, each trouser leg comprising an upper portion having a lower edge 111 provided with a fastening means 112 integrated therein, a lower portion 120 having an upper edge 121 provided with a fastening means 122 integrated therein, and an additional section 130 comprising an upper edge 131 provided with a fastening means 132 integrated therein and a lower edge 133 provided with a fastening means 134 integrated therein. In the illustration shown in FIG. 1, the three sections are separated.

The other trouser leg is shown with an extended length with the additional section 130 removably attached to both the upper section 110 and to the lower section 120.

Referring now to FIG. 3, a hook and loop fastening means is shown wherein a hook and loop fastening means 114 is integrated with the lower edge 111 of upper portion 110, a hook and loop fastening means 124 is integrated with the with the upper edge 121 of lower portion 120, a hook and loop fastening means 136 is integrated with the upper edge 131 of additional section 130, and a hook and loop fastening means 137 is integrated with the lower edge 132 of the additional section 130. While FIG. 4 depicts a second additional section, it will be understood that the pair of trousers of the present subject matter may have a plurality of additional sections to accommodate individuals with longer legs.
