Abstract
A dual light mounting bracket device is disclosed. The device features a U-shaped main frame with an aperture for fastener attachment to various surfaces, including ceilings, walls, and floors. A pair of horizontally colinear planar arms extend from the ends of the U-shaped member. A clamp member is attached to each planar arm and each clamp member consists of a rectangular arm and a pair of symmetrical, rubber-coated or plastic-coated curved arms with rounded tips that deviate slightly outward to enhance grip. The curved arms are flexible, enabling lateral movement to accommodate objects of varying sizes. The clamp members secure and accommodate a pair of lights, such as planar LED lights or fluorescent light tubes (i.e., fluorescent light fixtures). The dual light mounting bracket device provides a secure, insulated, and non-damaging hold, suitable for mounting illumination devices or other objects.

[0027] The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is a method of mounting a pair of lights or a pair of light fixtures using a dual light mounting bracket device. The method includes the steps of providing a dual light mounting bracket device, the bracket device includes a U-shaped main frame with an aperture adapted to receive a fastener for attachment to a surface, a first clamp member comprising a pair of rubber-coated or plastic coated curved arms, each curved arm having a rounded tip and a second clamp member comprising a pair of rubber-coated or plastic coated curved arms, each curved arm having a rounded tip, attaching the dual light mounting bracket device to a surface by inserting a fastener through the aperture at the bottom end of the U-shaped main frame, securing a first light or light fixture between the rubber-coated or plastic coated curved arms of the first clamp member, and securing a second light or light fixture between the rubber-coated or plastic coated curved arms of the second clamp member.
[0028] Reference will now be made in detail to the present preferred embodiments of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numerals are used in the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.
[0029] Referring initially to the drawings,
[0030] An aperture 118 is disposed on the first planar arm 108 and a corresponding aperture 120 is disposed on the second planar arm 110. In the preferred embodiment, the planar arms 108, 114 have the same length and the apertures 118, 120 are disposed at the center of the corresponding arms 108, 114. The length of the frame 102 extending from the top end 106 of the frame 102 to the arms 108, 114 is about one inch.
[0031] A first clamp member 122 is attached to the upper surface 124 of the first planar arm 108 using the aperture 118 (either welded or using a fastener). The first clamp member 122 includes a rectangular arm 126 and a pair of symmetrical rubber-coated or plastic-coated curved arms 128, 130 extend above from the opposite ends 132, 134 of the rectangular arm 126. The rubber-coated or plastic-coated symmetrical curved arms 128, 130 are preferably C-shaped and each curved arm curves inward towards the centerline of the structure. The first curved arm 128 has a rounded tip 136 that deviates away from the curvature of the arm 128. Similarly, the second curved arm 130 has a corresponding rounded tip 138 that deviates away from the curvature of the arm 130. The rounded tips 136, 138 help to enhance the grip on a light object being held between the curved arms 128, 130.
[0032] A second clamp member 140 is attached to the upper surface 142 of the second planar arm 114 using the aperture 120 (either welded or using a fastener). The second clamp member 140 includes a rectangular arm 144 and a pair of rubber-coated or plastic-coated symmetrical curved arms 146, 148 extend above from the opposite ends 150, 152 of the rectangular arm 144. The rubber-coated or plastic-coated symmetrical curved arms 146, 148 are preferably C-shaped and each curved arm curves inward towards the centerline of the structure. The curved arms 146, 148 have corresponding rounded tips 154, 156 and the rounded tips 154, 156 deviate or extend away from the curvature of the arms 146, 148. The rounded tips 154, 156 help to enhance the grip on a light object being held between the curved arms 146, 148.
[0033] The curved arms of both the clamp members 122, 140 are flexible and can be moved laterally to accommodate an object therebetween. It will be apparent that the curved arms retain their original position when not pulled laterally by the user and therefore, provide a secure grip on an object accommodated between the curved arms. In some embodiments, the clamps 122, 140 are detachably attached to the corresponding planar arms 108, 114 and alternatively, the clamps can be integrated to the planar arms.
[0034] The clamp members 122, 140 can independently hold a LED or any other illumination source between the corresponding rubber-coated or plastic-coated curved arms or C-shaped arms. The rubber-coating can be integrated or can also be detachable and provides insulation and a comfortable grip for accommodating the object therebetween. The rubber coating does not scratch or dent the accommodated object. Although the present disclosure describes the dual light mounting bracket device 100 to accommodate illumination devices, lights, or fixtures, it is to be appreciated that the device 100 can be used for any object including but not limited to decorative items, utility objects, and more.
[0035]
[0036]
[0037] The clamp members 122, 140 are oriented below the U-shaped main frame 102 and two LED or any other lights 306, 308 are removably secured to the clamp members 122, 140 respectively. Referring to
[0038] The bracket device 100 is adapted to be positioned at any preferred position along a length of the LED light or fluorescent light tubes (i.e., fluorescent light fixtures) 306, 308 depending on the preferences of users, thereby providing an inclination to the lights 306, 308.
