[0046] Referring to
[0047] As exemplified in
[0048] As shown in
[0049] Each telescoping pop-up tent leg 102 of the plurality of telescoping pop-up tent legs 102a,102b,102c,102d includes a respective top portion 110a,110b,110c,110d and a correspondingly respective bottom portion 112a, 112b, 112c, 112d.
[0050] Referring now to
[0051] In a similar manner, in another embodiment, there are six telescoping pop-up tent legs 102, and the six telescoping pop-up tent legs 102 have identical components, parts, elements, and structures, that are consistent with the four telescoping pop-up tent legs 102a,102b,102c,102d illustrated in the figures and detailed herein.
[0052] Referring now to
[0053] As illustrated in
[0054] As illustrated in the exemplary embodiment in
[0055] In another preferred embodiment, each cylindrical extendable rollup baby gate 114 (e.g., 114a,114b) includes a single flexible gate member 116, as shown at 114a,114b,114c,114din
[0056] The flexible gate members 117 are adapted to extend (in the direction of Arrow E) between a fixed edge 118 of the respective cylindrical extendable rollup baby gate 114 and an opposite free edge 120a,120b,120c,120d. Each cylindrical extendable rollup baby gate 114a,114b,114c,114d is adapted to transition between a retracted position as illustrated in
[0057] In one embodiment, each cylindrical extendable rollup baby gate 114 of the plurality of cylindrical extendable rollup baby gates 114a,114b,114c,114d includes a top lateral edge 134 and a bottom lateral edge 136. As illustrated in
[0058] Referring to
[0059] It can be appreciated from this disclosure that, in one embodiment, only one pop-up tent leg 102 (of a plurality of tent legs) has a bottom portion 112 that includes an extendable flexible baby gate 114 having a flexible member 116; and in such embodiment, that flexible member 116 can be drawn out of the inner cavity 115a of the bottom portion 112 of the leg 102, wrapped around an outside portion of all other pop-up tent legs 102, and then removably fastened to the retention pegs 126 or hooks 126 that are disposed on an outer surface 146 of the bottom portion 112 of the one pop-up tent leg 102 from which the flexible gate member 116 is extended out of. In such manner, the single extendable flexible baby gate 114 could envelope the entire area located between the pop-up tent legs 102, providing an easy and efficient manner to contain, for instance, small children, pets, and personal belongings. Relatedly, through such embodiment, the single extendable flexible baby gate 114 could envelope only a desired portion of the area located between the pop-up tent legs 102, by wrapping around and enveloping a (i.e., wrapping around only a few pop-up tent legs 102 as less than all of them) thereby providing a partially confined space under the pop-up canopy tent 100 while leaving open the remaining space under the pop-up canopy tent 100 located between the one or more unwrapped tent legs. By way of example, the single extendable flexible baby gate 114 could extend out of bottom portion 112a, wrap around the outside of 112b and 112d, and be removably connected to the retention pegs or hooks 126 of 112a, forming a confined space in the shape of a triangle, leaving open a remaining triangular shaped space (i.e., assuming a square or rectangular shaped pop-up tent, as illustrated in the figures) to be freely traversed by passersby's.
[0060] While inventor has illustrated embodiments of the portable pop-up canopy tent has having a square or rectangular form, and with telescoping legs, disclosed embodiments of the extendable baby gate 114b embedded inside of the cavity of a pop-up tent leg 102 can also be utilized for other pop-up canopy tents having a round or octogen shape, for example, including pop-up canopy tents not having telescoping legs. It can be seen that the novel and unique features of the disclosed invention provide for advantages and options not previously achieved through conventional devices.
[0061] Referring to
[0062] In other words, for example, referring to
[0063] Similarly, the extendable baby gate 114b of the pop-up tent leg 102b can be drawn and spanned across a second area B, where the free edge 120 of 114b can be connected to the adjacent pop-up tent leg 102c, where the fasteners 120 disposed on the free end 120 of the extendable baby gate 114b are removably connected to the retention pegs 126 of the adjacent pop-up tent leg 102c.
[0064] In the same fashion, the extendable rollup baby gate 114c of the pop-up tent leg 102c can be drawn and spanned across a third area C, where the free edge 120 of 114c can be connected to the adjacent pop-up tent leg 102d, where the fasteners 120 disposed on the free end 120 of the extendable baby gate 114c are removably connected to the retention pegs 126 of the adjacent pop-up tent leg 102d, as illustrated in
[0065] Similarly, the extendable rollup baby gate 114d of the pop-up tent leg 102d can be drawn and spanned across a fourth area D, where the free edge 120 of 114d can be connected to the adjacent pop-up tent leg 102a, where the fasteners 120 disposed on the free end 120 of the extendable baby gate 114d are removably connected to the retention pegs 126 of the adjacent pop-up tent leg 102a, as illustrated in
[0066] Accordingly, as can be appreciated from this disclosure, embodiments of the invention can effectively provide for a fully gated ground level enclosure, as exemplified in
[0067] Each cylindrical extendable rollup baby gate 114a,114b,114c,114d is adapted to retract from the extended position (

[0071] In a preferred embodiment, each pop-up tent leg 102 comprises, respectively, one or more retention tabs 144a,144b disposed on an outer surface 146 of the bottom portion 112 of the respective pop-up tent leg 102, as illustrated on the outer surface 146 of the pop-up tent leg 102a in
[0072] As shown in
[0073] As exemplified in
[0074] In a preferred embodiment, all of the cylindrical extendable rollup baby gates 114a, 114b,114c,114d have respective elongated rods 142 (as exemplified by 116b having 142 in
