A method for producing pamphlets which will have enhanced visibility on a shelf when positioned vertically thereon adjacent one or more vertically oriented objects, comprising: making each pamphlet from a plurality of pages, each having front and back sides, each of said front and back sides having first and second sections on which textual or graphical information may be displayed, said plurality of pages being assembled in a stacked configuration with each page being folded along a fold line between said first and second sections, whereby said textual or graphical information on any of said plurality of pages may be viewed on either or both said first and said second sections on either or both said front and said back sides, and wherein said fold line on which each page is folded and is in alignment in said stacked configuration; stapling a flat placard to each pamphlet on the line on which each page is folded, wherein the stapling is performed in a manner whereby the flat placard remains moveable from a first position to a second position by pivoting on the staples, wherein the first position of the flat placard is in alignment with said line on which each page is folded and has a first portion which extends beyond the line on which each page is folded and a second portion which extends in a direction of said pages from the line on which each page is folded, wherein the second position of the flat placard is perpendicular to the pages of the pamphlet; and orienting each of the pamphlets of the plurality of pamphlets with the placard in the first position.
9. The method of claim 8 wherein said width dimension of said placard ranges from 0.5 to 2 inches.
10. The method of claim 8 wherein said height dimension of said placard is approximately equal in length to a length of said fold line.
11. The method of claim 8 wherein said placard has a stiffness or thickness which is greater than, respectively, a stiffness or thickness of each of said plurality of pages.
12. The method of claim 8 wherein the pamphlet includes one or more staples passing through said plurality of pages at said fold line which do not pass through said flat placard.
13. The method of claim 8 wherein said flat placard includes a cover which covers said staples.
14. A method for producing a pamphlet which will have enhanced visibility on a shelf when positioned vertically thereon adjacent one or more vertically oriented objects, comprising: making a pamphlet from a plurality of pages, each having front and back sides, each of said front and back sides having first and second sections on which textual or graphical information may be displayed, said plurality of pages being assembled in a stacked configuration with each page being folded along a fold line between said first and second sections, whereby said textual or graphical information on any of said plurality of pages may be viewed on either or both said first and said second sections on either or both said front and said back sides, and wherein said fold line on which each page is folded and is in alignment in said stacked configuration; and stapling a flat placard to the pamphlet on the line on which each page is folded, wherein the stapling is performed in a manner whereby the flat placard remains moveable from a first position to a second position by pivoting on the staples, wherein the first position of the flat placard is in alignment with said line on which each page is folded and has a first portion which extends beyond the line on which each page is folded and a second portion which extends in a direction of said pages from the line on which each page is folded, wherein the second position of the flat placard is perpendicular to the pages of the pamphlet; and pivoting the placard to the first position.
15. The method of claim 14 wherein said width dimension of said placard ranges from 0.5 to 2 inches.
16. The method of claim 14 wherein said height dimension of said placard is approximately equal in length to a length of said fold line.
17. The method of claim 14 wherein said placard has a stiffness or thickness which is greater than, respectively, a stiffness or thickness of each of said plurality of pages.
18. The method of claim 14 wherein the pamphlet includes one or more staples passing through said plurality of pages at said fold line which do not pass through said flat placard.
19. The method of claim 14 wherein said flat placard includes a cover which covers said staples.
