DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0017] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0018] As best illustrated in
[0019] A tank 42 is positioned within the housing 20 and a quantity of propane gas 44 is positioned in the tank 42. An outlet 46 is in fluid communication with the tank 42 and a plurality of tubes 48 is in fluid communication with the outlet 46. Each of the tubes 48 has an outlet 50 positioned adjacent to a different one of the end caps 18 and is attached to an associated one of the drones 14. A gas release and igniting apparatus 52 is mounted in the housing 20 and on the drones 14. The gas release and igniting apparatus 52 releases propane gas 44 from the tank 42 and outwardly through the outlets 50 and ignites the propane gas 44 as the propane gas 44 leaves the outlets 50.
[0020] The gas release and igniting apparatus 52 typically includes a gas valve 54 in fluid communication with the outlet 46. The gas valve 54 is electrically actuatable between an open position and a closed position and the gas valve 54 is in a normally closed position. The gas valve 54 is positioned within the housing 20. A plurality of ignition heads 56 is positioned adjacent to each one of the outlets 50. An ignition switch 58 is positioned outside of the housing 20 and is electrically coupled to the gas valve 54 and the ignition heads 56 wherein the gas valve 54 is moved to an open position and the ignition heads 56 are electrified when the ignition switch 58 is actuated. The ignition switch 58 is typically positioned on the body fastener 32.
[0021] A power source 60 is electrically coupled to the ignition switch 58 to supply electrical power to the gas valve 54 and to the ignition heads 56. The power source 60 may comprise a battery mounted in the housing 20. A master switch 62 is positioned on the housing 20 and is in electrical communication with the ignition switch 58 and the power source 60. The master switch 62 is actuated to an off position to cut electrical power to the ignition switch 58 and to an on position to provide electrical power to the ignition switch 58. A gas flow switch 64 is positioned on the housing 20 and is in electrical communication with the gas valve 54 and the power source 60. The gas flow switch 64 is actuated to a first position to cut electrical power to the gas valve 54 and a second position to provide electrical power to the gas valve 54.
[0022] In use, the body fastener 32 is secured to the user 34 of the bagpipe 12. The master switch 62 is actuated to the on position and the gas flow switch 64 is actuated to the second position. The user 34 then can actuate the ignition switch 58 to emit flames from the end cap 18 of each of the drones 14 to enhance a visual appearance of the bagpipes 12 when in-use.
[0023] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0024] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word comprising is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article a does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
