    Abstract

    The present invention relates to gift bags with removable portions that can be used by users to make a costume, form a toy, or play a game. The bags have substantially a parallel front panel and a rear panel and a pair of parallel side panels. The panels are joined to a bottom panel to create a cavity for accommodating a gift item. One or more panels of the bag have detachable portions/sections in various forms, such as, a crown, a sword, glasses, a necklace, and more enabling users to punch-out/remove the sections from the panels to create customized costumes, toys, and more. The detachable sections are removably attached in perforated slots and can have any shape, size, and design based on a theme of the gift, party, and preferences of users. The detachable sections may have fastening means for securing them around a body part of a user.

    Claims

    1. A convertible gift bag comprising: a front panel; a rear panel, wherein said front panel and said rear panel are of substantially the same length and width and are in a parallel and spaced apart relationship to each other; a pair of side panels, wherein a distance between said front panel and said rear panel is equal to a width of each of said pair of side panels; and a bottom panel; wherein said front panel, said rear panel, said pair of side panels, and said bottom panel form a cavity for receiving a gift inside said convertible gift bag; wherein said front panel, said rear panel, and at least one of said pair of side panels comprise a plurality of perforated sections selectively detachable from said convertible gift bag along said plurality of perforated sections; and further wherein said detached said plurality of perforated sections enable forming of an item selected from a group consisting of a game, a toy and a costume.

    2. The convertible gift bag of claim 1 further comprising a removable handle, wherein said removable handle is detachable from said convertible gift bag for forming a decorative necklace.

    3. The convertible gift bag of claim 2, wherein at least one of said perforated sections is a crown section.

    4. The convertible gift bag of claim 3, wherein said crown section is perforated along said front panel, said rear panel, and said pair of side panels.

    5. The convertible gift bag of claim 4, wherein said crown section includes a fastener for forming a continuous loop of said detached said crown section.

    6. The convertible gift bag of claim 5, wherein at least another one of said perforated sections is a magic wand.

    7. The convertible gift bag of claim 1 further comprising a removable handle, wherein said removable handle is detachable from said convertible gift bag for forming a toy rope.

    8. A convertible gift bag comprising: a front panel; a rear panel, wherein said front panel and said rear panel are of substantially the same length and width and are substantially parallel to each other; a pair of side panels, wherein a distance between said front panel and said rear panel is equal to a width of said pair of side panels; and a bottom panel; wherein said front panel, said rear panel, said pair of side panels, and said bottom panel form a cavity for receiving a gift inside said convertible gift bag; wherein said front panel, said rear panel, and at least one of said side panels include a plurality of perforated sections selectively detachable from said convertible gift bag along perforations; wherein said detached said plurality of perforated sections enable forming of an item selected from a group consisting of a game, a toy and a costume; and further wherein said convertible gift bag comprises a first material and said plurality of perforated sections comprise a second material, and said first material is different from said second material.

    9. The convertible gift bag of claim 8 further comprising a removable handle, wherein said removable handle is detachable from said convertible gift bag for forming a decorative necklace.

    10. The convertible gift bag of claim 9, wherein at least one of said perforated sections is a crown section.

    11. The convertible gift bag of claim 10, wherein said crown section is perforated along said front panel, said rear panel, and said pair of side panels.

    12. The convertible gift bag of claim 11, wherein said crown section comprises a fastener for forming a continuous loop of said detached said crown section.

    13. The convertible gift bag of claim 8, wherein at least one of said perforated sections includes a fastener for forming a continuous loop of said at least one of said perforated sections.

    14. The convertible gift bag of claim 13, wherein said fastener is selected from a group consisting of a snap button, a magnet, a hook and loop fastener and an adhesive.

    15. A convertible gift bag comprising: a front panel; a rear panel, wherein said front panel and said rear panel are of substantially the same length and width and are parallel to each other; a pair of side panels, wherein a distance between said front panel and said rear panel is equal to a width of each of said pair of side panels; and a bottom panel; wherein said front panel, said rear panel, said pair of side panels, and said bottom panel form a cavity for receiving a gift inside said convertible gift bag; wherein said front panel, said rear panel, and at least one of said pair of side panels include a plurality of perforated sections selectively detachable from said gift bag along perforations; wherein said detached said plurality of perforated sections comprise components of a costume; wherein said gift bag includes a first material and said plurality of perforated sections include a second material, and said first material is different from said second material; wherein said gift bag includes a removable handle; and wherein said removable handle detachable from said gift bag for forming another component of said costume.

    16. The convertible gift bag of claim 15, wherein at least one of said perforated sections is a crown section.

    17. The convertible gift bag of claim 16, wherein said crown section is perforated along said front panel, said rear panel, and said pair of side panels.

    18. The convertible gift bag of claim 17, wherein said crown section includes a fastener for forming a continuous loop of said detached said crown section.

    19. The convertible gift bag of claim 15, wherein at least one of said perforated sections includes a fastener for forming a continuous loop of said at least one of said perforated sections.

    20. The convertible gift bag of claim 19, wherein said fastener is selected from a group consisting of a snap button, a magnet, a hook and loop fastener, and an adhesive.

There is also a long-felt need in the art for a gift bag that can be reused to accommodate any type of gift. Additionally, there is a long-felt need in the art for a gift bag that solves the problem of throwing away of the gift bags after taking out a gift. Moreover, there is a long-felt need in the art for an improved gift bag that has game components and toys disposed thereon enabling individuals to play a game. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for a gift bag that provides an enjoyable experience to everyone by enabling them to play games. Finally, there is a long-felt need in the art for gift bags that offers a unique way to give gifts to children and others without wasting and throwing away the gift bag.

    [0030] The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is a novel gift bag having perforated portions disposed in panels of the bag. The gift bag comprising substantially parallel and equal front and rear panels, a pair of opposite and parallel side panels and a bottom panel; the said panels forming a cavity with a top opening to insert and remove a gift; at least the front panel, the rear panel and the side panels have a removably attached crown disposed therein as a part of the panels, wherein the crown is removable for wearing on a head by a user; at least the front panel has a removably attached magic wand and a removably attached bracelet; wherein the magic wand and the bracelet are removable; and, the bag further has a handle, in the form of a detachable necklace, for carrying the bag.

    [0031] Referring initially to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of one potential embodiment of the gift bag 100 of the present invention in accordance with the disclosed architecture. The gift bag 100 includes a front panel 102, a rear panel 104 and pair of side panels 106,108. The front panel 102 and the rear panel 104 are of substantially the same length and width and are parallel to each other, whereby the space between the front panel 102 and the rear panel 104 equaling the width of the side panels 106,108. The first edge 1020 and the second edge 1022 of the front panel 102 are attached to front edge 1060 of the first side panel 106 and the front edge 1080 of the second side panel 108 respectively. The perforated sections 114,116,118 are a part of the panels of the bag 100 and can be detached as per desire of a recipient of the bag. The perforated sections can be any ornamental, functional, and decorative sections that allow a user to play a game or create a costume.

The bag 400 has a handle 402 in the form of a chain that can be removed or detached from the bag 400. Further, the bag 400 has a detachable pirate eye patch 404, a sword 406, and a plurality of coins 408 as a part of the bag 400. Each of the detachable perforated part can be removed from the bag 400 for use by a recipient of the bag 400 as illustrated in FIG. 4B.
