Abstract
A pocket carried holster of modest outer dimension and novel design is secured to the outer extents of the front pocket in a pair of pants to facilitate the discrete carry of a small caliber semiautomatic pistol and a spare ammunition magazine such that both can be safely removed from the pocket's confines in an expedited manner without snagging on the garment.
Claims
1. A holster of the sort used to facilitate the carry of a firearm in (a) the pocket of a garment (b) is envisioned with sufficient rigidity and appreciable dimensional width (c) in the vicinity of where said holster would interface with the outer edges of said pocket (d) so opening of said pocket in said garment is held sufficiently open so as not to impede the removal of said firearm from said holster positioned in said pocket.
2. The holster of claim 1 in which (a) a wall rests perpendicularly against the top surface of said firearm and (b) a wall rests perpendicularly against bottom surface of the grip of said firearm and (c) both said walls extend some distance beyond the extents of said firearm and (d) both individual said walls are sufficiently long enough to reach lip of said pocket when (e) said holster is securing said firearm in said garment pocket
3. The holster of claim 1 in which a thin wall (a) rests against the distinct side of said firearm and (b) extends some distance beyond the grip of said firearm so (c) that when said holster has said firearm secured in said garment pocket (d) the wall is sufficiently long to reach the open lip of said pocket and (e) is of sufficient width (f) to hold said pocket open
4. A holster of the sort used to facilitate the carry of a firearm in the pocket of a garment (a) is envisioned with means (b) to attachment said holder to garment (c) at two points (d) with each individual point sufficiently distant from the other individual point (e) such that the position of said holster in said garment would be dictated by (f) the attributes of how said holster is fastened at two said points to the lip of said pocket
5. The holster of claim 4 in which (a) a member presses a portion of said garment (b) against a portion of said holster (c) To secure garment to holster.
6. The holster of claim 4 in which (a) a deformable clip presses against the outer surface of said garment (b) thrusting garment against a portion of said holster (c) thus securing garment to holster.
7. The holster of claim 5 in which (a) clips rotate about an axis (b) in frame of said holster (c) and clips assume an interference fit with wall said holster when (d) they are articulated to be in line with the wall of said holster (e) so fabric of said garment may be pinched against said holster.
8. A holster of the sort used to facilitate the carry of a firearm in the pocket of a garment is envisioned with (a) no holster material existing between the firearm and the curved leg surface of an individual with the firearm secured in their pocket (b) except where the relationship of the curved surface of the leg contrasts with the appreciably flat firearm (c) to generate a natural void between said leg and said firearm (d) so material may be oriented only in this void and not compromise the close relationship between the firearm and the leg.
9. The holster of claim 8 where (a) a member appreciably thinner than said firearm (b) exists behind said firearm's grip (c) without extending beyond a plane generated from the side profile of said firearm (d) to assist in orienting firearm in said holster (e) but featuring chamfered, beveled, or rounded edges so (f) said firearm may travel over said member.
10. A holster of the sort used to facilitate the carry of a firearm in the pocket of a garment is (a) envisioned with members existing on either side of some portion of the trigger guard to (d) form a cavity to accommodate a spare ammunition magazine.
11. The holster of claim 10 where (a) a spring to secures a spare ammunition magazine by (b) pressing against said spare ammunition magazine nestled between said members
12. The holster of claim 10 where (a) the spring accommodates the movement of said spare ammunition magazine (b) when said firearm is removed from said holster.
13. A holster of the sort used to facilitate the carry of a firearm in the pocket of a garment is (a) envisioned with material covering the opening generated between (b) the trigger guard and the front surface of the trigger (c) but access to the area behind the backside of the trigger and the firearm grip (d) is not obstructed
14. The holster of claim 13 where (a) a recess exist in said material covering the opening between said trigger guard and the front surface of the trigger (b) said recess faces grip of firearm (c) said recess assists in guiding a finger into the cavity generated between the backside of the trigger and grip portion of said firearm.
