    Abstract

    A clothes hanger comprising: a housing; a motor positioned within the housing, the motor having an output member, a motor controller electrically coupled to the motor, a wireless communication module electrically coupled to the motor controller; a hanger coupled to the output member, and a hook removably coupled to the housing; wherein the hanger rotates about an axis in response to activation of the motor.

    Claims

    1. A clothes hanger comprising: a housing; a motor positioned within the housing, the motor having an output member; a motor controller electrically coupled to the motor; a wireless communication module electrically coupled to the motor controller; a hanger coupled to the output member; and a hook removably coupled to the housing; wherein the hanger rotates about an axis in response to activation of the motor.

    2. The hanger of claim 1, further including a transmission positioned between the output member and the hanger.

    3. The hanger of claim 1, further including a display.

    4. The hanger of claim 3, wherein the display is a touch screen.

    5. The hanger of claim 3, wherein the display includes a rotation adjustment interface.

    6. The hanger of claim 1, wherein the housing includes a removable interface, wherein the interface includes a threaded aperture that removably receives at least a portion of the hook.

    7. The hanger of claim 1, further including a power source electrically coupled to the motor.

    8. The hanger of claim 7, wherein the power source is a battery or a power cord.

    9. The hanger of claim 1, wherein the hanger rotates about the axis at a user-defined speed.

    10. A system comprising: a clothes hanger including a hook, a motor, and a hanger rotationally driven about an axis; and a user device wirelessly connected to the clothes hanger and configured to adjust a rotation of the hanger about the axis.

    11. The system of claim 10, wherein the user device is a remote control.

    12. The system of claim 10, wherein the user device is a cell phone.

    13. The system of claim 10, wherein the clothes hanger further includes a display.

    14. The system of claim 13, wherein the display includes a rotation adjustment interface.

    15. The system of claim 10, wherein adjustment of rotation of the hanger about the axis includes adjusting a speed, a direction, or a combination of both speed and direction.

    16. The system of claim 10, further comprising an auxiliary hook removably coupled to the clothes hanger.

    [0043] With reference to FIG. 1, a system 10 includes a clothes hanger 14 and a user device 18. The clothes hanger 14 includes a hook 22 and a hanger 26 rotationally driven about an axis 30. As detailed further herein, the user device 18 is wireless connected to the clothes hanger 14 and is configured to adjust a rotation of the hanger 26 about the axis 30.

The motor 38 includes an output member 42 that is rotationally driven. In some embodiments, the motor 38 is an electrical DC motor. The clothes hanger 14 further includes a motor controller 46 electrically coupled to the motor 38. In the illustrated embodiment, a wireless communication module 50 is electrically coupled to the motor controller 46. In some embodiments, the wireless communication module 50 receives a radio frequency signal, a Bluetooth signal, a WiFi signal, or a similar wireless signal.

    [0045] In the illustrated embodiment, the hanger 26 is coupled to the output member 42. The hanger 26 rotates about the axis 30 in response to activation of the motor 38. In other words, when the motor 38 is energized, the hanger 26 is rotationally driven by the motor 38. In the illustrated embodiment, the axis 30 is vertical. In some embodiments, a transmission (e.g., a gear set) is positioned between the output member 42 and the hanger 26.

When the hook 22 is secured to the environment (e.g., a rail), the hook remains stationary and a reactionary torque is applied to the hanger 26, causing the hanger 26 to rotate about the axis. In some embodiments, the removable interface 58 is secured to the remainder of the housing 34 with a slide-and-click lock, for example. In the illustrated embodiment, the removable interface 58 includes a threaded aperture 62 that removably receives at least a portion of the hook 22. In some embodiments, the system 10 includes an auxiliary hook 66 removably coupled to the clothes hanger 14. As such, the hook 22 can be removed and replaced with the auxiliary hook 66 depending on the environment in which the clothes hanger 14 is hung. In some embodiments, the clothes hanger 14 includes three different options of hooks to screw into the top removable interface 58.

In some embodiments, the display 70 is a touch screen. In the illustrated embodiment, the display 70 includes a rotation adjustment interface 72. In some embodiments, a user provides input to the rotation adjustment interface 72 to adjust the rotation of the hanger 26 about the axis 30. In some embodiment, adjustment of the rotation of the hanger 26 includes an adjustment in position, rotational speed, rotational direction, rotational acceleration, or any combination thereof. In some embodiments, the hanger 26 rotates about the axis 30 at an adjustable, user-defined speed. In the illustrated embodiment, the display 70 includes 0, 90, 180, and 360 for the degrees the hanger 26 rotates. In some embodiments, the degrees the hanger 26 rotates is adjustable and user-selected.

In some embodiments, the user device 18 is a cell phone executing an application.
