    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0012] Referring to the drawings wherein like reference numerals designate like parts, there is shown in FIG. 1 a garment 100 such as a sweater which can be worn by a male or female person. The garment 100 has a torso portion 101 which extends from the upper edge 103 down to the lower edge 105 of the garment and includes the integral arms 107,109 which terminate at their respective sleeves 111,113 through which the wearer's hands can be extended. A pocket 115 next to the lower edge 105 of the garment 100 is provided for the user to insert the wearer's hands. FIG. 1 also shows the double protective head and face covers 117,119 integrally attached to the garment 100 and to each other at about the neck part 121 of the wearer thus forming a unitary article. As shown in FIG. 4, the face cover 117 has an opening 123 such that when said face cover 117 is pulled upward over the face 125 the opening 123 provides a viewing area through which the wearer can see. The face cover 117 of the protective hood is also provided with a zipper 129 which can be used to open the face cover 117 into a freely hanging position as shown in FIG. 2.

[0013] FIG. 3 shows the head cover 119 pulled over the head 127 while the face cover 117 is rolled up around the neck 121 of the wearer.

[0014] In FIG. 5, the hood cover 119 is shown hanging freely on the back of the garment 100 and FIG. 6 shows the head cover 119 and the face cover 117 hanging freely on the back and front of the garment 100.

[0015] Thus, the garment 100 and the protective hoods 117,119 form a unitary article stitched together to form a unitary double hooded article.

[0016] The garment used in the present invention may be formed from a stretchable, washable fabric, such as cotton or other similar material generally known in the art for making sweatshirts, pullovers, ski jackets and other known garments. The protective hood head cover 119 and the protective hood face cover 117 form integral parts of the garment and are not removable therefrom when the garment is being washed or laundered. Also, the two protective head covers can be used separately such that when the hooded head cover 119 is used alone the hooded face cover is hanging freely in front of the garment, and when the hood face cover alone is used, the hood head cover hangs freely on the back of the garment.
