    Description

    [0020] The invention is further explained by means of an example embodiment in the figures of the drawings. There are shown:

    [0021] FIG. 1 a perspective exploded illustration of a radiator;

    [0022] FIG. 2 a perspective view of the rear side of the radiator of FIG. 1;

    [0023] FIG. 3 a detail view of the region A of FIG. 2;

    [0024] FIG. 4 a front view of the radiator of FIG. 1;

    [0025] FIG. 5 a sectional view of the plane B-B of FIG. 4;

    [0026] FIG. 6 a sectional view of the plane B-B of FIG. 4 with a wall niche; and

    [0027] FIG. 7 a perspective view of the radiator of FIG. 1 with a hatch, installed into a wall niche.

    [0028] The radiator 1 illustrated in the figures has a base body 2, a front plate 3 and a heat insulation plate 4. The base body 2 has the shape of an elongated rectangle. On the rear side of the base body 2, a first heating water connection 5 and a second heating water connection 6 are arranged. Depending on the installation situation of the radiator 1, either the first heating water connection 5 or the second heating water connection 6 is constructed as heating water intake and the respectively other heating water connection is constructed as heating water return.

    [0029] Furthermore, a total of two mounting elements 7 are arranged on the rear side of the base body 2, which serve for fastening the radiator 1 to a wall 11 situated rearward from the radiator 1.

    [0030] The heat insulation plate 4 is arranged between the rearward wall 11 and the rear side of the base body 2. The heat insulation plate 4 likewise has the shape of an elongated rectangle and is adapted in its dimensions to the size of the base body 2, so that the heat insulation plate 4 substantially covers the rear side of the base body 2.

    [0031] The heat insulation plate 4 has a recess 8 for receiving the first heating water connection 5. In addition, the heat insulation plate 4 has a cavity 9 facing the base body 2more precisely the rear side of the base body 2. This cavity 9 extends in the direction of the longitudinal side of the heat insulation plate 4 and enables the circulation of heated air. Finally, the heat insulation plate 4 has respectively a mounting recess 10 in the region of the mounting elements 7.

    [0032] The front plate 3 is arranged on the front side of the base body 2 and forms the room-side closure of the radiator 1. On the edge side, the front plate 3 extends beyond the base body 2. The lateral edges 20 of the front plate 3 are angled.

    [0033] FIG. 6 and FIG. 7 show the arrangement of the radiator 1 in a wall niche of a wall 11. The wall niche has a niche rear wall 12 and niche lateral walls 13, 14. The radiator 1 is introduced into the spatial volume spanned by the niche rear wall 12 and the niche lateral walls 13, 14. The heating water connections 5, 6 are connected with a heating pipe system present on site. The dimensions of the wall niche and of the radiator 1 are coordinated with one another such that if necessary a small gap remains between the lateral edges 20 of the front plate 3 and the niche lateral walls 13, 14. Through the angled shape of the lateral edges 20, a receiving space 19 additionally forms between niche lateral wall 13, 14 and the radiator 1. This receiving space 19 serves to receive a sealing element (not illustrated in the figures).

    [0034] A hatch (cover, opening) 15 is received in a frame 17. This hatch 15 is removable and partially closes the wall niche. The hatch 15 is detachably connected with the frame 17 by weld studs 16, which are introduced in clamping bushes 18 of the frame 17.

    [0035] The radiator 1 can be mounted onto a wall 11 both vertically (i.e. the longitudinal side of the base body 2 extends in vertical direction) and also horizontally (i.e. the longitudinal side of the base body 2 extends in horizontal direction).
