Abstract

The present invention relates to an aqueous cosmetic powder composition especially designed for styling hair comprising water, hydrophobic colloidal silica and a water soluble non-ionic polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups and is solid at ambient temperature.

Claims

1. An aqueous powder cosmetic composition for hair comprising water, hydrophobic colloidal silica and a water soluble non-ionic polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups and is solid at 25 C.

2. The composition according to claim 1, comprising less than 80% water calculated to the total of the composition.

3. The composition according to claim 1, comprising up to 15% calculated to the total of the composition, hydrophobic colloidal silica.

4. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the hydrophobic colloidal silica has a BET specific surface area in the range of 190 to 250 m2/g and tamped density in the range of 55 to 65 g/L according to DIN EN ISO 787/11 of August 2013.

5. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the water soluble non-ionic polyol solid at 25 C. has at least five hydroxyl groups.

6. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the water soluble non-ionic polyol solid at 25 C. is selected from sorbitol, saccharose, glucose, lactose and fructose.

7. The composition according to claim 6, wherein the water soluble non-ionic polyol solid at 25 C. is sorbitol.

8. The composition according to claim 1, comprising the water soluble non-ionic polyol solid at 25 C. at a concentration up to 45%, calculated to the total of the composition.

9. The composition according to claim 1, further comprising one or more film forming and/or setting polymer, selected from anionic, cationic, non-ionic and amphoteric ones, at a concentration in the range of 0.1 to 10% by weight calculated to the total of the composition.

10. The composition according claim 1, further comprising one or more hair direct dyes, selected from anionic, cationic and non-ionic nitro dyes.

11. The composition according to claim 1, further comprising one or more UV filter.

13. Process for styling and/or setting hair comprising the step of applying onto dry hair the composition according to claim 1.

14. Process for producing the composition according to claim 1, comprising the steps of dissolving the water soluble polyol with at least three hydroxyl groups and is solid at 25 C. in water and adding thereto the hydrophobic colloidal silica, and mixing at high shear rate at ambient temperature.
