Abstract
Elements of the present invention relate to the application of force to a bolt carrier within a firearm when the firearm becomes inoperable. Some elements relate to the application of force by leverage applied with a bar inserted through a weapon's magazine well. Some elements relate to a bar end with prongs that provide for clearance of a weapon's bolt shaft while engaging the weapon's bolt carrier. Some elements relate to accommodation of multiple weapon dimensions with a single tool.
Claims
1. An apparatus for applying force to a weapon bolt carrier via the weapon's magazine well, said apparatus comprising: a bar comprising a bar width that is less than the width of the weapon's magazine well; wherein the bar terminates at a bar end comprising two prongs separated by a gap; wherein the gap is sufficiently wide to accommodate non-interference clearance of the weapon's bolt shaft; and wherein the prongs are long enough to engage the bolt carrier on each side of the bolt shaft.
2. The apparatus as described in claim 1 further comprising a second bar end comprising; a second bar width that is less than the width of a second weapon's magazine well; wherein the second bar end comprises two second prongs separated by a second gap; wherein the second gap is sufficiently wide to accommodate non-interference clearance of the second weapon's bolt shaft; and wherein the second prongs are long enough to engage the second weapon's bolt carrier on each side of the second weapon's bolt shaft.
3. The apparatus as described in claim 1 further comprising a bend point at which said bar is bent at an angle.
4. The apparatus as described in claim 1 further comprising a curve point at which said bar is bent in a curve.
5. The apparatus as described in claim 2 wherein said bar tapers from said bar width to said second bar width at a location that is a distance from the tips of the prongs that is at least as large as the distance between the weapon's bolt shaft center and the weapon's base of the magwell.
6. An apparatus for applying force to weapon bolt carriers via the weapons' magazine wells, said apparatus comprising: a bar comprising a narrow bar end and a wide bar end; wherein said narrow bar end has a first width that is less than the width of a first weapon's magazine well; wherein said narrow bar end terminates at a bar end comprising two narrow-end prongs separated by a narrow-end gap; wherein said narrow-end gap is sufficiently wide to accommodate non-interference clearance of said first weapon's bolt shaft; wherein said narrow-end prongs are long enough to engage said first weapon's bolt carrier on each side of said first weapon's bolt shaft; wherein said wide bar end has a second width that is less than the width of a second weapon's magazine well; wherein said wide bar end terminates with two wide-end prongs separated by a wide-end gap; wherein said wide-end gap is sufficiently wide to accommodate non-interference clearance of said second weapon's bolt shaft; and wherein said wide-end prongs are long enough to engage said second weapon's bolt carrier on each side of said second weapon's bolt shaft.
7. The apparatus as described in claim 6 wherein said bar tapers from said first bar width to said second bar width at a location that is a distance from the tips of the narrow-end prongs that is at least as large as the distance between the first weapon's bolt shaft center and the first weapon's base of the magwell.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0032] A description of embodiments of the present invention will now be given with reference to the Figures. It is expected that the present invention may take many other forms and shapes, hence the following disclosure is intended to be illustrative and not limiting, and the scope of the invention should be determined by reference to the appended claims.

[0034] These embodiments comprise a substantially rigid bar 30 that is approximately 0.5 cm thick 31 throughout its length and 2.5 cm wide at a wide end 32 while being approximately 1.8 cm wide at a narrow end 33. The wide end 32 of the bar 30 terminates in two wide-end prongs 35 on either side of the bar. These prongs 35 may be approximately 0.15 cm wide and may taper to a point at their ends.
