GRATE BAR AND USE OF A GRATE BAR

Abstract

A grate bar having a base body made from a first material and a grate bar reinforcement which has a material that is different from the first material. The base body has a running surface having a longitudinal extent, an upper side and an underside, and a center line between the upper side and the underside in the longitudinal extent, which center line extends through the center of gravity of the running surface. The grate bar reinforcement is arranged below the center line and joined to the base body.

Claims

1. A grate bar comprising: a base body made from a first material and a grate bar reinforcement which has a material that is different from the first material, the base body having a running surface having a longitudinal extent, an upper side and an underside, and a center line between the upper side and the underside in the longitudinal extent, wherein the center line extends through a center of gravity of the running surface, wherein the grate bar reinforcement is arranged below the center line and joined to the base body, and wherein the grate bar is produced from a cast material and the grate bar reinforcement is cast on or the grate bar has a strut which is spaced from the underside and is held between two flanges.

2. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement is joined to the base body in such a manner that when the base body breaks as a consequence of pressure on the upper side of the running surface, the base body breaks before the grate-bar reinforcement breaks.

3. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein after a breakage of the base body, the grate-bar reinforcement forms an interlocking joint of fragments of the base body.

4. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein less than 50% of an outer surface area of the grate-bar reinforcement forms a bearing surface at the base body.

5. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement extends over more than 35% of the longitudinal extent.

6. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement comprises at least one strut which extends along the longitudinal extent.

7. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement comprises a sheet-metal material.

8. The grate bar according to claim 7, wherein the sheet-metal material has through openings between struts and webs.

9. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement is a spiral.

10. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement comprises a plurality of rings joined to one another.

11. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement comprises through holes or holes.

12. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement comprises has webs between rows of holes.

13. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement is three-dimensionally shaped.

14. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement comprises a hollow body.

15. The grate bar according to claim 14, wherein the hollow body is only joined on one side to the underside of the running surface.

16. The grate bar according to claim 1, wherein the base body has flanks extending at a side of the underside of the running surface, perpendicularly to the upper side, and wherein the grate-bar reinforcement is arranged between the flanks.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0036] The grate bar 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 7 substantially consists of the base body 2 and the grate-bar reinforcement 3. The base body 2 consists of a cast material and the grate-bar reinforcement 3 consists of a bent metal sheet. The base body has a running surface 4 having an upper side 6 and an underside 7 on the side located opposite the upper side 6. A center line 9 runs, between the upper side 6 and the underside 7, in the longitudinal extent 5 of the running surface 4, through the center of gravity 8 of the running surface 4.

[0037] The grate-bar reinforcement is then arranged not precisely on the center line 9 between the upper side 6 and the underside 7 of the running surface 4, but rather below this center line and joined to the base body 2. In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 7, the grate-bar reinforcement 3 has a plurality of struts 10 which are located along the longitudinal extent of the grate-bar reinforcement. In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, only one strut 13 extends between two flanges 11 and 12 as grate-bar reinforcement 3. This strut 13 can bear against the underside of the running surface or be arranged spaced from it.

[0038] In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 7, the grate-bar reinforcement consists of a sheet-metal material which has through openings 14 between the struts 10 and webs 15. As a result, rows of holes 20 are created in the grate-bar reinforcement 3.

[0039] The grate-bar reinforcement that is three-dimensionally shaped in this manner to form a hollow body 16 is cast on the grate bar in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 7 and as a result the hollow body 16 is only joined on one side 17 to the underside 7 of the running surface 4.

[0040] In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, the grate-bar reinforcement 3 is likewise located between flanks 18 and 19 extending perpendicularly to the upper side 6, wherein the grate-bar reinforcement is designed as a bar or threaded rod between two flanges 11 and 12. The use of a threaded rod as a strut 13 makes it possible to keep the grate-bar reinforcement on the flanges 11 and 12 by means of screws 21 to 24.
