Abstract
A scooter having a handlebar assembly that includes a vertical portion supporting a handlebar. The vertical portion includes an opening at its top end and the opening is configured to receive an elongate portion of a toy. The assembly also includes a ring portion at the opening of the vertical portion and the ring portion frictionally engages the elongate portion of the toy. The vertical portion and the ring portion are configured to securely support the elongate portion of the toy.

19. A scooter comprising: a body having a deck and a footrest surface; a handlebar assembly operably coupled to the body, including: an upwardly extending member comprising an opening; a locking mechanism coupled to the upwardly extending member adjacent the opening; and a handlebar supported by the upwardly extending member, the handlebar comprising grip portions accessible to a user; a toy comprising an elongate portion, wherein the opening is configured to receive the elongate portion of the toy, the toy being securely supported by the handlebar assembly such that the toy is separate and removable from the handlebar and grip portions, and wherein the locking mechanism engages the elongate portion of the toy when the elongate portion of the toy is received within the opening to limit movement of the toy relative to the handlebar assembly when a force is applied to the handlebar assembly.

The scooter of claim 19, wherein the locking mechanism includes at least one protruding member extending inward from an inner surface of the locking mechanism, and the at least one protruding member engages the elongate portion of the toy when the elongate portion is received within the opening.
21. The scooter of claim 19, wherein the upwardly extending member includes a hollow tube having an inner surface that is sized and shaped to receive the elongate portion of the toy.
22. The scooter of claim 21, wherein a cross-section of the inner surface of the upwardly extending member is circular.
23. The scooter of claim 22, wherein the hollow tube is longer than the elongate portion of the toy.
24. A ridable vehicle comprising: a body having a deck and a support surface; at least one front wheel and a rear wheel connected to the body; a handlebar assembly connected to the body and extending upward from the deck, the handlebar assembly having a member extending upwardly and a handlebar supported by the member, the handlebar including grip portions configured to be gripped by a user; wherein the member includes an upper portion that includes an opening, the opening being configured to receive a lower portion of a toy; wherein the toy is separable from the handlebar; and wherein the toy is not used for steering the vehicle.
25. The ridable vehicle of claim 24, wherein the member is hollow and receives the lower portion of the toy when the elongate portion is passed through the opening.
26. The ridable vehicle of claim 25, wherein the member and the lower portion are each cylindrical in shape.
27. The ridable vehicle of claim 24, wherein the handlebar assembly includes a cap portion connected to the member adjacent the opening, the cap portion having a hole through which the lower portion of the stick toy is passed.
28. The ridable vehicle of claim 27, wherein the cap portion is sized and shaped to engage the lower portion of the toy when it is passed through the hole and into the opening.
29. The ridable vehicle of claim 28, wherein the cap portion includes one or more flap portions.
30. The ridable vehicle of claim 24, wherein the handlebar is connected to the member at a position below the opening.
31. A scooter, comprising: a body having a deck extending longitudinally from a front side of the body to a rear side of the body; a plurality of wheels including at least a front wheel connected to the front side and a rear wheel connected to the rear side; a handlebar assembly rotatably connected to the body, the handlebar assembly comprising: a member extending in an upwards direction from the deck, the member including a locking mechanism and an opening; and a handlebar connected to the member; and a toy, wherein at least a portion of the toy is configured to be positioned within the handlebar assembly, wherein the toy is removable from the handlebar assembly, and wherein the opening is configured to receive at least a portion of the toy such that the locking mechanism engages at least a portion of the toy.
32. The scooter of claim 31, wherein the locking mechanism includes at least one protruding member extending inward from an inner surface of the locking mechanism, and the at least one protruding member frictionally engages at least a portion of the toy when the at least a portion of the toy is received within the opening.
33. The scooter of claim 31, wherein the member is a hollow tube having an inner surface that is sized and shaped to receive at least a portion of the toy.
34. The scooter of claim 31, wherein a cross-section of the inner surface of the member is circular.
35. The scooter of claim 33, wherein the hollow tube is longer than at least a portion of the toy.

Preferably the handlebar assembly includes a vertical portion that receives an elongate portion of a toy. In some embodiments, the vertical portion includes an opening that receives an elongate portion of a toy. Preferably, the opening is configured to frictionally engage the elongate portion of a toy so that the movement of the toy relative to the vertical portion is restricted.
