DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0023] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
[0024] As best illustrated in
[0025] Each massager head 26 of the plurality of massager heads 26 is rotatable with respect to the arm 18 when placed in one of the sockets 24. Each massager head 26 comprises a plurality of spherical protrusions 28 which are radially arranged around a rotational axis of the massager head 26. The drive mechanism 30 is operatively coupled to the plurality of massager heads 26. The drive mechanism 30 comprises a pair of motors 32, each of which is operatively coupled to an associated subset of the plurality of massager heads 26. The drive mechanism 30 comprises a plurality of belts 34 which couple each motor 32 of the pair of motors 32 to the associated subset of the plurality of massager heads 26. In other embodiments, one motor 32 may be used in each massager mechanism, or other suitable drive mechanisms 30 may be used.
[0026] The arm 18 comprises a pair of modules 36, each of which comprises a housing 38 which houses an associated motor 32 of the pair of motors 32 and a massager mount 40 to which an associated subset of the plurality of massager heads 26 is mounted. The associated motor 32 of each module 36 is operatively coupled to the associated subset of the plurality of massager heads 26 of each module 36. A processor 42 is mounted in the base 12 and is operatively coupled to the drive mechanisms 30 of the plurality of massager assemblies 16.
[0027] A pair of headphones 44 is mounted to the base 12. Each headphone 44 is positioned at an associated one of the pair of ends 14 of the base 12, and the pair of headphones 44 is operably coupled to the processor 42. The headphones 44 are pivotable toward and away from each other. A transceiver 46 is mounted in the base 12 and is operably coupled to the processor 42 wherein the processor 42 is configured to communicate with a remote controller 64 via the transceiver 46. The processor 42 is configured to receive commands from the remote controller 64 for operating the processor 42. The remote controller 64 may be a smartphone, a computer, or the like in some cases. The processor 42 may also be configured to receive audio from the remote controller 64 via the transceiver 46 and to play the audio using the headphones 44. Or the processor 42 may have a memory on which audio is stored which may be played via the headphones 44.
[0028] A power supply 48 is mounted in the base 12 and is electrically coupled to the processor 42. The power supply 48 comprises a battery 50 but may comprise a capacitor or other suitable power storage. A touchscreen 52 is mounted on the base 12 and is operatively coupled to the processor 42. The touchscreen 52 may be used to input commands to the processor 42. Other input devices may be used to input commands to the processor 42. A plurality of light displays is operatively coupled to the processor 42. The plurality of light displays includes a plurality of arm light displays 54 and a plurality of headphone light displays 56. Each arm light display 54 is mounted on an outer side 22 of the arm 18 of an associated massager assembly 16 of the plurality of massager assemblies 16, and each headphone light display 56 is mounted on an associated headphone 44 of the pair of headphones 44. The processor 42 may be programmed to selectively cause the plurality of light displays 54 to display selected light patterns for aesthetic or utilitarian purposes.
[0029] In use, the head massaging apparatus 10 is worn on the user's 58 head 60. The processor 42 may be operated to cause the drive mechanisms 30 of the plurality of massager assemblies 16 to rotate the massager heads 26, thereby massaging the user's 58 head 60. The processor 42 may be operated by the remote controller 64, the touchscreen 52, or another input device. Audio may be played via the headphones 44 by operation of the processor 42 as well. The massager heads 26 may be removed and replaced with other massager heads 26 or other head or hair treatment elements.
